okay people seem to read the thea and jean scene in the worst way possible and i can kinda understand where they’re coming from. but that was just not my interpretation reading it for the first time.

TO ME! it read like thea was trying to joke around with and tease jean (likely an echo of their nest dynamic) it’s clear that she’s fond of him. but it’s just not the right time and jean is not in the mood (like read the room girl..) she’s trying to establish some kind of normalcy for a situation she doesn’t really understand yet. by the end of the conversation though she concedes, tries to appeal to jean by using the correct city/nickname, but by then he doesn’t want to talk to her anymore. she’s seen her friend hurt before and is trying to understand why this time is different but no one is willing to give her the necessary info/context
