My Current Gender Identity vs my Gender Expression

Hey, this is going to be pretty self-centered but I need somewhere to convey my emotions right now. Also, no one is gonna read this so who cares? And I will be using the term “old name” instead of "dead name" so if that is triggering I’m sorry that’s just the way I see it right now.

Right now I’m having a hard time with my gender expression and identity. Two of my teachers have recently outed me to my peers who formerly known me as my old name (I am a sophomore in high school). My teachers address me as Billy. I chose that name because it is kind of a gender-neutral name and it’s a name that has run in my family. However, I am not entirely comfortable with everyone in my class knowing that name. It was more of a personal name to me. It was a name that only friends and people who cared about me could address me as, now it’s my actual name. It feels almost worthless now. But if that is the case would that be a name or just a nickname?

Also, I’m concerned about the students in my class knowing my new name. Your average transphobia is possible. Luckily, this school has a lot of accepting people despite living in a red state (thank god I haven’t been hate-crimed at this point). I am also concerned about my parents finding out. They have very radical views concerning trans people. I can at least debate about it with my mom but my dad is very deep into the far right rabbit hole its honestly concerning.

I would like to be seen and addressed as, well, a man, but recently I just haven’t put any effort into presenting that way. I even do my makeup because I just like wearing it. My mom even forced me to get a very feminine haircut and I just hate it so much but my dad said that cutting it any shorter would not solve anything (if only he knew). I do want my hair to grow out like metal head hair but right now anything would look better.

As I said, I do want to be seen as a man, but being seen as a girl is so much easier. I mean that’s what I’m already seen as by most people. I do woman things. I watch women's movies and put stuff on my face to make myself look more womanly and I wear skirts. But I want to be seen as he/him. I want to be Billy. I feel like he’s unattainable. I also want a fucking beard and a flat chest and a lot of tattoos. Should everyone see me as Billy? Or should they see me as Billy when I get those things: the flat chest and beard? Because I know I am not Billy yet. I am old name. I’m just a kid; a kid who will someday be Billy. At least that’s who I want to be.

But why? Why do I want to be Billy? Why can’t I just be old name until I die? Am I already Billy? Why can't I answer these fucking questions? Why do I hate myself so much? Why?

I hope people are recognizing that this is awful because these basic amenities should be accessible to prisoners in general and shouldn’t be paid for. I hope that people aren’t hating this because they believe prisoners don’t deserve any of these things. I hope people also recognize that I’m aware of the “even more serious crimes” part and that the people often falsely charged and convicted of these “serious” crimes are usually poc and mentally ill people.

Gender is a Social Construct; a critique of Professor Dave and transmed talking points (tw transmeds lol)

In the video he said that gender was “a different phenomenon [than sex]. It is still biological, but it is a neurochemical construct... it is still genetic in basis, but it absolutely is not determined by sex chromosomes... researchers are still working to understand the biological basis of gender identity.” It is strange to me that he would argue that gender is genetic but doesn’t explain how gender is connected to your genes. He just says that researchers are trying to understand it which doesn’t mean that his claim that gender identity is genetic is true or is some fact of reality.

He later claims that “liberals” are wrong when they say that gender is a social construct, yet he can’t explain how gender is not a social construct. Here is the quote, “...please stop saying gender is a social construct. No it is not. It is a biological construct. Society can’t turn you any more trans anymore than it can turn you gay... [gender] is an incredibly complex neurochemical phenomena.” He claims that gender is this “neurochemical phenomena”, but he can’t even explain what this phenomena is or how it chooses your gender. And he tries to sound more wise by comparing gender and sexuality. Society definitely does determine whether if you are queer or not. Your experience with people as partners can influence what your preferences are. And your experience with a different name and pronouns can influence what your preferences are as well. It’s like choosing that you prefer straight hair over curly hair. No, I do not think that people are born gay or trans because that would suggest that being those things are connected to your genes which does not make since at all!

The colonizers claimed that the natives did follow gender roles in order to make their way of life look natural, more pure, INTENED BY GOD.

Women in hunter-gatherer societies did not have to cover their breasts. Not like they do in your painting.

I want to debunk other talking points but I feel like what I said already explains my arguments against it. Like how you have to be gender dysphoric to be trans those are the real transgenders. Well I would just say that people can choose to fucking change their name and pronouns and appearance and you shouldn't have a say in that.
