I watched the dead of summer pilot to try and fill my recovery road void but I’m only interested in a few of the characters and find the main incredibly annoying. I was generally hoping that I’d like it but I don’t now yet. I hope it gets better, although props to freeform for the trans character. Just a waiting game I suppose to see how they continue with this, but yeah, not the best pilot ever.
because my obsession with recovery road is still going strong despite the cancellation and i wanted to pay a real tribute to one of the most personally relateable characters i’ve ever found in a tv show.
i’m really fucking proud of this edit, i’ve been working on it for a while now and , not gonna lie, i love it (which is rare because i always hate my own work)
i don’t really care how many views this gets, this was more of a video that i edited for myself, but yeah...for those few remaining recovery road fans who may be reading this, hope you like it. if you’ve got any requests for more and you want me to attempt to edit anything then don’t be afraid to hmu and i might be able to convince myself to edit again.

Urgh...It actually makes me mad to see how much Freeform are promoting their new shows like Guilt, and even Dead of Summer to an extent. Where was all this promotion for Recovery Road aka. the show that actually meant something and dealt with real issues that you so conveniently forgot about and pretty much damned from the start! It never stood a chance.

The time has come...
I feel so sad that I have to write this post but it saddens me more that I pretty much knew I’d have to write it after the first few episodes. Freeform has cancelled Recovery Road.
My heart is broken because this show deserved so much more than what Freefom gave it. The promotion for it sucked, the air date was pushed back causing it to get lost in a sea of Pretty Little Liars and Shadowhunters crap. This is a show that actually means something important. I think it was pretty clear after Freeform cancelled Chasing Life what route they we’re heading in for their channel and that didn’t include amazing and meaningful shows, which sucks.
I know the Recovery Road fandom is small, that’s why I like it so much. It feels like a tiny little family and It’s seriously the first fandom I’ve ever really got into, so thank you to everyone who made it feel like that. This account is still gonna stay here and I’ll still be (hopefully) making RR edits and posting about it because I know I’m never not gonna love this show, the cast and crew. I may even write a little ff and stuff because I had a whole lot of ideas for a season 2 (and yes there was a whole lotta Doug in them because Doug is my baby)
So yeah, I just wanted to write this in case anyone didn’t hear or wanted my opinion on it. To sum up: it sucks, Freeform sucks and everything sucks. But let’s not let their shitty decisions cloud over something we love. Let’s remember Recovery Road for the amazing show it is, not for the bad decisions Freeform made.
Recovery Road, you will be missed.

Okay guys so it’s officially May and we still have yet to here news from Freeform on whether Recovery Road has been renewed. So if you could help out the fandom tremendously by signing this petition for renewal that would be great! Currently it has 923 signatures and the goal is to get 1,000. We’re so close and this show not only covers a variety of important issues but it is also super diverse with 4 out of the 7 main characters being POC. It it also one of the only shows on the network that centers around a black teenage girl. Help show that Freeform is making a step in the right direction with diversity, even if you don’t watch the show it would be so amazing if you could lend us a hand by either signing or helping to boost this post.

I'm so conflicted about Lindsay/Rebecca. I love her character but all I can think about is Lindsay on The Glee Project and how much I hated her then. She was such a bitch on that show.
The only thing Lindsay was on tgp was a victim of a rough edit because the producers felt like a little bit of drama was more important than the honest representation on a nineteen year old girl. Plus tgp was years ago. People change, they grow. Lindsay is a genuinely kind and talented person, don’t let Ryan Murphy and co stop you from seeing that :)
