Major Andor's field skills classes weren't ever what you could call scintillating, but today was worse than usual. Mursinhatamar did his best to focus, but the major was moving through the topic at lightspeed, not stopping to respond to questions or giving snappish answers when he did.

He was trying, Mursinhatamar thought resentfully. Data analysis was technically under Intelligence, and he had to take this class, so he was making the best of it. He wasn't even really expecting to use any of this, since the thought of going out in the field on Intelligence missions made him want to vomit all three stomachs empty.

He wasn't like the others with their fantasies of spy derring-do. They'd written Andor off the minute they saw him, with his lined face and his stiff-legged limp, dismissing the rumors that he'd been on some of the Rebellion's most dangerous missions.

Mursinhatamar really was trying to learn.

Some of his classmates were less conscientious, sending each other messages on their datapads and whispering together. Mursinhatamar, whose hearing was sensitive even for a Drozia, had forgotten his protective ear plugs that would filter out the most distracting noises from his classmates and the corridor. That didn't make focusing on the lecture any easier.

He thought Andor couldn't hear the whispers. Humans were so deaf. But when someone let out a snicker, he whipped around and slammed his datapad down on the desk with an ominous crack. "This is not a game."
