You’ve heard of Elf on the Shelf, now get ready for
You can feel it can you
not?
The seeping darkness of your own
tormented thoughts, sneaking up on you
like a shadow of remorse.
You walk in constant dreams, ever so
willingly to die or sleep,
forever more in quiet clouds of different worlds.
You cry in silent tunes, ever so
loudly as a cat’s leap,
inwardly so that the echo might awake a past of brighter hearts.
You watch the night sky with closed eyes, ever so
closely as if the stars had built constellations in your mind,
blessed like children with their innocent laughter.
And you turn and turn, afraid of remaining this way,
afraid that loneliness was written next to your name by fate’s unloving hand.
Lonely you may be, yet lonely you remain,
ever so scared another touch might burn your skin forever.
You fall in love, ever so
fast, quick, short lived, momentary, random, accidental,
while crafting make beliefs for eternities to come,
alternating between “what ifs” and “never minds”.
It is good that nobody cares as much about yourself
as you.
(l.k.b.s.)
The capacity to be alone is the capacity to love. It may look paradoxical to you, but it’s not. It is an existential truth: only those people who are capable of being alone are capable of love, of sharing, of going into the deepest core of another person – without possessing the other, without becoming dependent on the other, without reducing the other to a thing, and without becoming addicted to the other. They allow the other absolute freedom, because they know that if the other leaves, they will be as happy as they are now. Their happiness cannot be taken by the other, because it is not given by the other.

look. i don’t think my stretch marks are beautiful. i don’t think they’re tiger stripes or natural tattooos. i don’t think my acne is beautiful. i don’t think the bags under my eyes are beautiful. i just think they’re human. and i don’t think i have to be beautiful all of the time in order to be accepted and loved and sucessful. i don’t think every small detail of my outer appearence needs to be translated into prettiness.
a lot of people (cowards) don’t like mint ice cream. i’m not one of them
When I say, I love you, it’s not because I want you or because I can’t have you. It has nothing to do with me. I love what you are, what you do, how you try. I’ve seen your kindness and your strength. I’ve seen the best and the worst of you. And I understand with perfect clarity exactly what you are.

It’s difficult because I am over here and you are over there and when I’m with you hours feel like seconds and when I’m without you days feel like years.
