I know I already made a post to this effect but it's so baffling to me when someone defends the fact that headphone jacks are slowly but surely getting phased out by smartphone manufacturers with some variations of "wireless headphones are more convenient anyway" bc like. If we're talking about convenience what I like about wired headphones is that they conveniently have a single plug that makes the same damn pair of headphones universally compatible with every single audio-output-capable device I own, from my phone and my computer to my fucking gameboy and my casette player, it doesn't get any more convenient than that.

Teachers often say this when a boy makes a girl uncomfortable. This is especially true if the boy is neurodivergent.
This hurts both the girl and the boy.
It hurts the girl because it shows that no one will protect her boundaries and that anything he does to a girl is okay as long as it's motivated by liking her, which easily eventually normalizes rape.
It hurts the boy because he continues to make girls uncomfortable, continues to give girls reasons to not like him, but grows up thinking he's doing nothing wrong so he ends up disliked by girls and unaware of why.
If you're a teacher and you want to acknowledge the possibility that he's making her uncomfortable because he likes her, there's a better way. Give him a punishment that's enough to show that what he did is wrong and make him afraid to do it again but not enough to permanently ruin his life. Explain to him the right way to pursue interactions with someone who he likes. For example, explain to him how to read signs of interest and signs of disinterest. Explain to him how to start with the default setting then slowly experiment in order to test someone's boundaries. Explain to him the scenarios in which a seemingly uncomfortable action would be okay (being mean to someone as a joke when you have a close friendship with them and have both established consent to the kind of relationship in which you both play mean jokes on each other is okay, being mean to someone as a joke otherwise is just mean). Explain to him that individual rejection (not liking someone because of personal tastes) is fully within someone's rights but systemic rejection (expecting others to not like someone because of personal tastes) is an act of oppression. Explain to him that the subset of people who like him is going to be random, which is true for everyone, and that he has to choose who he interacts with from within that subset, not try to convince someone who doesn't like him to start liking him.

Without fail, every time a woman is talking about how she does not want to have children and never wants to be pregnant and how medical professionals, romantic interests and family members keep trying to bulldoze her decision and keep expecting her to change her mind because motherhood is something that is expected of all women and it is abhorrent to think a woman could not desire it, a random mother spawns in the comments to be like “Well, actually, you never know! I didn’t want children and then I got pregnant and I realized I love being a mama and I have five little babies now! Could happen to you! 🥰”
Sister, keep that to yourself or make your own goddamn post, you are ignoring that woman’s central concern and belittling her, you don’t even think you’re doing it. Formerly childfree women who ended up having children and loving it are like detransitioners in the sense that there is nothing inherently wrong with changing your mind about having children or realizing you were mistaken about your gender identity but immediately weaponizing your indecision to tell people that the barriers to healthcare and the violations of their bodily autonomy and the way society ignores that person’s wishes is actually okay because you were wrong. Some people do know themselves.
