Some Information on the Highly Sensitive Person
Roughly 20% of the population struggle with high sensitivity. Typical traits include the following:
1. As students, they work differently from other people. They often pick up on subtleties and may think deeply about a subject before sharing in a discussion or contributing in a classroom setting. (This does not necessarily mean they don’t understand the material, or are too shy to speak in public. It has more to do with the way the person processes information.)
2. They tend to be highly conscientious in their work. They notice and pay attention to details, and they think things through very carefully. Also, often being highly sensitive is equated with higher levels of intelligence, being highly intuitive and having a vivid imagination. Highly sensitive individuals work and learn best in quiet and calm environments.
3. Highly sensitive students and employees generally underperform when they are being evaluated. They are highly conscious of being watched, and this inhibits their ability to function at their peak.
4. Although some individuals who are born with this trait may seem to be more introverted by nature, being introverted and highly sensitive do not always go together. Instead, environmental factors have a greater influence on how the individual feels and reacts.
5. People with high sensitivity are more sensitive to both negative and positive experiences. Thus, they are more affected by rough treatment, pain, heartaches and insensitivity from others … but also seem to benefit more from being treated with kindness, care and thoughtfulness.
6. Other common characteristics of the highly sensitive person being easily over-stimulated (hence the need for quiet and calm), being more emotionally reactive than others, and having higher levels of empathy.

Tips for a Great Morning
Hey Guys, how are you all doing? Let’s talk about morning routines and how you could use it to help you have great days ahead.
1. Wake up and sleep around the same time everyday.
I am guilty of not being able to do this, but there were times where I was able to and it really was the best thing ever. You wake up every morning around the same time, knowing that it’s another day to own it. Compare to when you wake up at like random times and you can’t help but feel that you don’t have enough time left in the day to do things is the worse feeling ever. Even worse is when you wake up at like midnight and spend the rest of the day not being able to go out and grab some yummy food! Hence, make sure that you sleep and wake up at about the same time if possible. Use an alarm clock if you have to. Especially if you are planning to nap, use it! I think that’s what really helped me.
2. When you wake up, lie in bed for 5 more minutes. Use this time to reflect on all the things that you are grateful. Perhaps, being alive and your family is around? Or that someone you love is presently in your life? Think about everything that you are happy for. Think about what you want to accomplish today and what to look forward to. So many things to be happy about if you just look around. How we feel things is a matter of our perception and how much gratitude we have for the things happening around us. Most importantly, being authentic. For myself, I am extremely happy that I wake up every day with another chance to pursue what I love. There’s nothing better than living the life that I currently have now. I feel really privilege to be given the chance to pursue my dreams.
3. Listen to music. Have breakfast. Go out. Go jog.
Music is the quickest way to change your mood. What are your list of things that make you happier?
4. What are some things you look forward to in the future?
Sometimes, it’s best not to look too far ahead because you lose sight of the present. you start to think how things could be so much better when the present is good too. If there’s a problem you’re facing now, traveling is a good way to get your mind off things. Traveling can help you put things in perspective.
5. Lesser your expectations.
The other day I was reflecting on what makes a carefree life and I think the simple answer is simply not to expect. To live life free of worries and uncertainties. You must create the outcomes you want. Don’t leave it in the hands of other people.
"Did this person get drunk off of box wine one year and flip over the turkey pan with the turkey still inside it and then pass out with their underwear pulled down under the christmas tree?"
