Mood Boosting Orange Milk Bath 🍊

My mom is visiting me soon, and she’ll be here on her birthday, so I thought I’d make her something that all mothers need! Something relaxing, mood lifting, and positive with self care involved.

Ingredients:

1 cup baking soda

½ cup citric acid

½ cup cornstarch (optional, as I didn’t have this today and didn’t use any)

¼ dry milk (optional, if you don’t want your bath milky, you are free to leave this out)

3 tablespoons of Epsom salts

a handful of dried & crushed orange peel

1 teaspoon of water

3 - 4 teaspoons of coconut oil (or any base oils you have at hand, such as almond oil)

15 - 20 drops of orange essential oil

This made me 1 large, 1 medium, & 1 mini bath bomb. I didn’t have a ritual or chant, I simply had some of my mood boosting crystals & a plant companion to ensure I was putting only positive energy into making these🌿 

To make dried & crushed orange peel: 

Save the peel from an orange, being sure to remove all fruit from the skin. Lay out to dry, best if it is in the sun. This will take a few days, though I’m sure there are ways to dry in the oven, just be sure to research it before just popping them in to the oven and burning them to a crisp! Once the peels are completely dry, toss the peel into a blender and pulse the blender until the pieces are as small or large as you wish. Store in airtight container.I may make a full tutorial on this if requested, but it’s pretty straight forward.

Moon Sign Observations

🌙 Aries Moons have bold and unique methods to comforting themselves and relieving their intense emotions. Most of them resort to heavy music or intense/energetic hobbies to help deal with their rage, sadness, and restlessness. Some even give themselves drastic makeovers when met with deeper emotions. If their feelings are not dealt with, they will lash out on either themselves or others.

🌙 Taurus Moons may not be the best at expressing their emotions but they are perfect with keeping eye contact and making sure they show how they feel through body language.. And through their bustling humor. They rely more on what they can physical feel rather than what cannot be acknowledged through their senses. They are creatures of comfort and express how they feel through sensuality.

🌙 Gemini Moons process emotions through intellect, thinking, and communication. They are extremely moody and restless, always searching for answers through the internet, through past experiences, or through other people. They will google the symptoms of their emotions as a distraction or as a means to understand what they are going through. They will also gladly explain their feelings but usually, they add a tinge of humor or sarcasm to make themselves feel like they are still in control of the situation and are not coming across as weak.

🌙 Cancer Moons are only comfortable when their needs and their loved ones’ needs are met. Overtime, they will be met with various emotional breakdowns and karmic experiences to help them battle their need for control. They will eventually take authority over their own authority, so to speak.

Diamonds Aren’t Rare

actually true, they aren’t

BUT

gem-quality diamonds are rare. There are three main factors that contribute to rarity

SIZE - big diamonds are way more rare than little tiny ones

COLOR - colorless diamonds are more rare than brown diamonds, and fancy-colored diamonds are more rare than colorless diamonds

CLARITY - diamonds that aren’t full of crap are more rare than diamonds with lots of crap

Fake Citrine/Burnt Amethyst

yellow/orange quartz = citrine, whether it’s natural or treated

it isn’t fake

citrine is often heated amethyst whether it comes from nature or a lab anyway

there are some citrines that were never amethyst, but many were

Copal Is Fake Amber

copal is young amber

amber is OLD, guys

1,000,000+ years old

they will both float in saturated saltwater.

amber is more resistant to chemicals because it’s gone through polymerization over time

don’t drop your amber/copal in solvents because chances are it’s copal

Don’t Clean Crystals With Soap

soap is good

most common crystals can be cleaned with soap

use gentle soap though, none of that orange gritty stuff that everyone’s dad had at one point

rinse off the soap when you’re done

check if your crystal is water soluble before cleaning though

and be careful with unusual and delicate specimens

Heating And Irradiation Are Bad

heating and irradiation enhance the color of your crystals

almost every sapphire and ruby in the lower to mid-range market has been heated

most other stones too

it doesn’t hurt the stone. I promise

it just makes them prettier

the earth does it to her crystals too

Treated Stones Are Fake

nope

treated stones are usually still whatever they were before they were treated

unless it’s a variety call based on color or something but y’know

heated topaz = topaz

aura quartzes are extra pretty because of their treatment

it’s cool if you don’t want to use treated stones but many people like them

treated stones are beautiful and not fake

but make sure the treatment is DISCLOSED unless it’s routine (and therefore assumed)

Blood Diamonds

it was a problem

but not much anymore!!!!

there’s a fun international thing called the Kimberley Process (2003)

diamonds can’t be exported from their origin country without a clear paper trail back to the mine

diamonds are probably the most ethical gemstone purchase you can make today actually

there’s no equivalent process for colored stones

Garnet Is Corundum

Corundum has THREE MAIN VARIETIES

just THREE

ruby (red), padparadscha (orange-pink), and sapphire (every other color)

these have subvarieties (star ruby, yellow sapphire, etc etc etc)

emerald and garnet are not corundum

(garnet is a mineral group!!!! it’s not even a species, much less a variety)

not everything is corundum

Palmistry 101

When reading palms, whether your own or someone else’s, these are the main things to consider:

Which hand is dominant? For right-handed people, the left hand gives information about inherited characteristics and potential, while the right hand reveals the development, character, and life events. The opposite is true for left-handed folks!

Quality of lines and their points of intersection. How strong or fine are the lines? Are they straight and long, broken and twisted, etc.? 

The directions of lines, which mounts they occur on or near, and their influences.

Shape of the hand, fingers, nails, and mounts.

General demeanor of the person and the hand. 

MAJOR LINES

Each line has its own meaning and depicts a certain course of action in a person’s life. Lines come in all shapes and sizes. Not everyone has all six of these lines, although the first three are always present (the fate line is usually present as well). 

Heart line: emotions, insecurities, marriages, dependence and independence, the nature of your relationships.

Head line: intellect, reasoning powers, prospective career paths, potentials for success.
