There has to be a purpose for such an occurrence. This was a curious thing to ponder. What will be your next course of action? Should Robin wish to regain their previous form then something was to be done. However if the male was to be truly honest then he had to confess that he could find no issue to this current form of his companion. 

“I’ll think of something,” she said although she didn’t sound too convinced. Robin took a deep breath. Oh this was going to be a long night. Might as well try to get help now before this became permanent. Hopefully a quick call to the Justice League would do the trick. Glancing back at the other boy, she wondered if it was okay to make the call in front of him. Batman was kind of on edge when Robin hung out with work friends off hours. It may not help that they were still in the dark about the Lab incident.

He did not make a sound. He waited for Robin to continue. He assumed that Robin needed complete peace for the message to be sent. Should the contacts not work then another method may be needed. Perhaps there was a solution to be found through the use of science. With one was being truthful then he would have to say that he did not trust nor believe in the use of magic. The guards spoke to the scientists in hushed tones. There appeared to be issues with the security. A lock down of the facility was eminent. The male experiment was lead into one room and the female another. Doctor Sullivan would be making the rounds to examined each one shortly.

Robin held his cape above his head in an attempt to shield himself from the downpour. A flash, no doubt this storm was getting worse. Before he even had a chance to count, another rumble and flash occurred. Before he could even express his annoyance at the situation, he noticed something off. Glancing passed his shoulder, the young teen realized he was not alone. “Uh…” was all he could say as he was looking at none other than the strange boy from the odd laboratory. It had been awhile since he last saw this guy and their initial meeting had been a bit weird. Still there was something on his mind “what are you doing out in weather like this?”

Footsteps echoed. What little light this city provided soon broke through the dark fog. Vision soon cleared and adjusted to the sight before him. The containment unit pulsed before switching to full lock down. As gravity pushed, there was no point in fighting it. Hitting the wet cold concrete, there was a struggle to stay conscious.

Robin had almost walked passed the other during all the chaos when he heard a strange noise. His head snapped to, seeing that weird device again but it seemed different this time. Another sound brought his attention elsewhere and that was when he saw the other teen on the ground. Rushing to him, Robin crouched down “hey, hey.” His voice was soft not wanting to add to this guy’s pain by giving him a headache. “You still with us? Say something.”

Is it not apparent that my physical form is still here? He had yet to rise. Exhaustion had hindered any chance of coming to his feet. The main priority was the capture of the escaped experiment. Any injury to his person would be dealt with when the scientists saw fit. Taking another look at the Robin, he noted there were no additional injuries to the boy. He rose to his feet. I must to return the laboratory.

Robin frowned at the comment. “Yes I can see that,” he grumbled waiting for the guy to get up. How did he even have the energy to talk back?Eying the device he didn’t want to think about how those scientists would extract that monster. Moving closer to his temporary ally he held his hands out. “You sure you’re okay? Maybe you should sit down for a moment.” Honestly he wasn’t sure if this guy would just drop any second now.

There does not appear to be any lasting damage to my form. Or so he had assumed. The answer was blunt with no sense of worry or care to his own person. Taking one defensive step away from the Robin, he gave the curt response of Negative. Such a gesture would not benefit the situation. It would only delay any further progress.

Even with that answer Robin wasn’t so sure. “Well if you say so,” he said quietly. It wouldn’t do much good to argue. He walked a few steps behind the guy in the off chance he felt lightheaded and might need help walking. There was an awkward silence between the two. Feeling anxious Robin said the first thing that came to mind. “I don’t know your name.”

That is due to the fact that I have not given it to you. Little did the Robin know, he did not appear to have a name. The experiments had all been given a number, nothing more. To give anything else could lead to a conflict of interest. That was what they were told. Such gestures may hinder progress in the name of science.

The pitch was now higher. So it was not just a change to Robin’s outer appearance. There was an urge to smile. How peculiar. So what will you do now? Do you wish to remain in that body?

Eventually they called for the experiments to be taken back to their rooms. Eying the female experiment as he was escorted down the halls, he knew those in charge would come to investigate further.

Do not get too close until I instruct you. Choosing to attack on the same level as the beast, his hands touched the rain drenched road. A blinding light came forth. The experiment gave a cry of pain. Robin attack now!

For a moment Robin thought there was an explosion. He wanted to call out to the other to get out of the way but his voice was drown out. Crap knowing that they couldn’t waste this opportunity Robin launched his attack. The monster were soon drowned out by the destruction. As debris and dust flew in every direction Robin could only hope that the other managed to get away from the attack.

The debris was overwhelming. His lungs filled with toxins. Eyes burned from smoke. His sense betraying him. His chance for escape was dwindling. And yet… If they completed their task then it would be worth it. Falling to his knees he launched the containment unit. Another flash followed by one last shriek.

Robin could only hope that this blinding light was his partner’s doing. Coughing he tried to get a better look through all the smoke. This was it right? They had to have caught the monster. Not seeing any sign of movement Robin jumped forward. He had never been one to just sit back and watch. Venturing forth through the chaos Robin tried not to breathe too much.
