⊰ ♡ ⊱ &. bloodlorn / anna !
@recreatd | plotted starter
she’s tired of fighting to try and get herself free. she’s broken a few teeth off TRYING to escape the small, cold enclosure they have her in. the iron barred cage was nothing like the cozy paddock she’d lived in, nothing like the soft mattress her handler allowed her to lay on. those cruel humans were nothing like alpha. they were nothing like the ones who had come to see her on the island. they offered her nothing but the bare minimum, a slab of meat and some water. nothing to rest on.
she lays on the cold floor, her energy totally D R A I N E D from attempting to get out. she’d never been as strong as the other velociraptors, she’d n e v e r been quite as vicious, and she was so much SMALLER. it didn’t help she had a bad leg (perhaps that’s what made her so easy to capture).
she’s just drifting in and out of sleep now. they’re all beginning to leave until the whole basement is S I L E N T aside from her breathing and the breathing of something else not too far away…no, not just one something, but two. one of them was smaller, so much smaller, and the other was MUCH bigger than anna. something dangerous.
maisie is curious. she had been since she was born, but it only got stronger as she grew. the girl’s abundance of curiosity fuels the hours spent in her grandfather’s library and the eavesdropping she partakes in more often than warranted. so it’s really no surprise that she had found an unusually excellent hiding spot behind one of the many dinosaur skeletons in the house while her eyes and ears focus only on mr. mills as he spoke harshly into the phone at the same time he stepped into the elevator. wait she saw it -- she saw the code.
it’s been twenty minutes since mr. mills gone down, and five since he’d been back up. she felt she was in the clear now, so with one more look over both shoulders, maisie dashes over to the keypad, types in the code, and steps into the elevator before pressing the glowing ‘ -3 ′ button to embark on what she’d hoped was a new adventure.
as sneakers hit the concrete floor, maisie’s eyes widen as she takes in her surroundings. everything is either steel or concrete, and her initial impression is that the place is both physically and metaphorically cold ------ less than welcoming. why would anyone want to be down here? she considers leaving, but the need to explore the new place overwhelms her. it seems empty, until she hears a noise. it’s so faint, but it sounded like someone something had exhaled. eyebrows furrow, and it isn’t until warm, brown eyes land on the brightly colored feathered animal that she realizes what must’ve made the sound. ❝ well hello there. ❞ british accent falls from pink lips, as she cautiously approaches. ❝ now where did you come from? ❞
