hi! this is a suggestion/OC blog for the AUs of some characters of mine. It primarily focuses on Magic: the Gathering AUs because for the last 11 years (until mid-2024) that was my main AU and writing world. now, while this blog still mostly focuses on the MTG AU for Mestas (and Rath and Tavrik), it also contains other AUs. most of those... still have an origin in MTG lol. however some, like the Horizon: Forbidden West AU and the FFXIV AU, have nothing to do with MTG.

some old posts on this blog are for OCs from other games, because this used to be the only suggestion blog i ran. however, i’ve decided to separate out my OCs by fandom to keep things a little more organized, so this blog now only focuses on the OCs who were originally created for MTG.
This blog mainly focuses on Mestas Claret, a dhampir (half-Moroii) orphan with issues. from ages 7-13 she was living on the streets of Ravnica and doing whatever it took to survive to the next day. at age 13 she was approached by a representative of House Dimir and invited to undergo their training and hone her skills as a thief (and introduce her to new, more lucrative skills).
she accepted, and was with House Dimir for eight years, primarily serving as an assassin but also taking contracts for theft, spying, information brokering, and acting as a courier if needed. however, her personality didn’t mesh well with the House’s needs, and they set her up with a contract that was supposed to get her killed. instead, she stalemated her target and the two eventually formed an uneasy alliance after several mutual murder attempts. after speedrunning going from enemies to lovers with her target, Mestas defects from House Dimir and joins the Gruul Clans. eventually, she even works her way up to being the Slizt Clan chieftain-- and divorcing the Scab clansman who led her here, as it becomes more and more clear that his power and skill matter to him quite a bit more than the woman he swore to love.

YWBTBID is being completely reworked from the ground up as an original story, separate from both Magic: the Gathering and the RP storyline that makes up this blog! Since Rath was created entirely for that AU, he’s been mostly removed from this blog and is finding a home under a new name over on Slumbering Gods, the worldbuilding, suggestion, and general hub for that new story! Mestas is also there too-- literally all of YWBTBID is being scrapped and redone as Slumbering Gods, so she’s still the main character there.
