Good example of British humour
So, here's something fun to add to this.
This book details the multiple (!) raids where wooden bombs were dropped on wooden mockup airfields.
But there's something far funnier going on here! Look at that bomber in the top right.
That is a DH-98 Mosquito, a highly successful bomber used by the Brits in World War 2. And, more importantly, the only WOODEN plane in service at the time.
The RAF was dropping a wooden bomb on a wooden airfield with a wooden plane.
