Lunar eclipse energies are the dynamic opposite of the masculine solar eclipse. This week we will feel drawn to soul evaluation, what internal shifts need to happen? The lunar is feminine based energy. Emotional charge, internal work, contemplative, abrupt internal shifts in our mindset & beliefs. Start asking yourself: what needs to be released this full lunar moon coming up đâđ

âȘIf you are feeling very detached and disconnected from your current reality, itâs because itâs about to change. The July 27th lunar eclipse isnât a rebirth. For a lot of people Itâs a completely new life. These past few weeks have been the birthing pains. âŹ

Offerings for Deities
Itâs been a while since Iâve made a post. Iâm going to address one of the most frequently asked questions I receive: How do I give offerings? For some reason, many beginner books donât dive into the specifics of this religious practice which many are unfamiliar with. Hopefully this will help.
General Rules:
Offerings are given as thank-yous, as little gifts to say that you appreciate the deityâs existence. They donât have to be expensive, but they should be special in your eyes. For example, I often offer donuts or wine simply because I donât buy those two things often.
Offerings should be appropriate for the deity youâre giving them to.
Youâre allowed to get creative with offeringsâin fact, the Gods even prefer that you do!
How often you give offerings in accordance to your practice is up to you.
You may give apology offerings for any offense you think you may have made.
Prayers, songs, playlists, and there intangible gifts still count as offerings.
You do not need an altar to give offerings. You can give offerings anywhere, at anytime.
Simply saying âThis is for youâ makes the object an offering.
Food Offerings:
Most food offerings are eaten after being offered. The main exceptions are Greek chthonic deities, and ancestors, in which case you do not eat the offerings. Research your specific pantheon to make sure if eating is appropriate or not.
There is no set amount of time to leave out food offerings. In fact, many worshippers will eat said offerings right after they offer them.
If you do not eat food offerings, you may throw them away, saying something like, âThough I discard these physical offerings, the spiritual offering remainsâ.
You may also bury the offerings. Make sure that the offerings will not harm the surrounding environment or animals. Do not bury them in a jar or plastic bag.
If you offer herbs, you may either burn them using a charcoal block or cauldron, or you may throw them out/bury them. While burning is certainly traditional in many pantheons, do not feel the need to if you will be bothered by the potent smoke or handling fire.
Liquid Offerings:
Liquid offerings are handled in the same way food offerings are, with the exception of oils.
You do not have to drink oils after offering them. (Drinking straight olive oil is pretty gross, and please DO NOT drink harmful essential oils!) I recommend pouring them into the ground outside, or into the trash can.
You may pour liquid offerings into the offering bowl, or, you may keep the liquid offering in a cup. I have a special teacup that I often use for offerings such as tea, but any regular teacup will do. After all, you are offering the liquid, not the cup.
Incense and Candle Offerings:
According to tradition, these offerings must be left to burn out on their own. I recommend lighting small tea light candles for these offerings, as big candles burn for a long time. However, some modern Pagans may blow, rinse, or snuff them out early to prevent a fire hazard.
Make sure to be present while the offering is lit, and make sure nothing catches on fire.
If you are bothered by incense smoke, using an essential oil diffuser or unscented candle works fine.
Although many Pagans recommend incense as a general offering, you do not have to offer it, or any candles, if they bother you.
Plant Offerings:
If you offer a plucked flower, you may leave it on an altar or table until it withers. Afterwards you may throw it away. Basically, you handle it as any other friend would had you given them a plucked flower.
If you offer a growing or potted plant, tend to it as you would your other plants. If it dies, thatâs okay. Simply discard it as you would normally. The Gods understand that plants die, and They appreciate the beauty of plants while they last.
Other Offerings:
For objects such as stones, shells, or family heirlooms, keep them on the altar or somewhere else special. Ideally, you will not need to throw these away. If they get damaged somehow, and if you cannot repair them, you may throw them out, but give an apology offering and try to replace them.
For artworks or crafts, place them on the altar or hang them somewhere. Donât sell your offerings; they are gifts you gave to the Gods and not yours to sell.
For songs, play or sing them anytime youâd like to connect or give something to your deity.
For writings, you may keep them, or some people might burn them to âsendâ to their Gods. Whichever way is up to you.
For e-shrines or other technological offerings, keep them saved in their own folder, keep them nice and up-to-date.
For magical tools, such as grimoires or wands that you dedicate, feel free to use them as normal. Just take care of them, and remember to thank the deity you devoted them to once in a while.
For daily or private actions, such as cleaning, giving to others, etc., simply think âThis is for youâ or send your energy to the God, and finish the action.
You may say prayers out loud, write them down, or simply think them in your mind. All are perfectly legitimate.
I hope I got all of this. Feel free to reblog or message with corrections, since I know I donât know everything about every pantheon. Have a beautiful day, and have fun worshipping!! (ïŸâăźâ)ïŸ*:ïŸâ§

How to Give Spooky Good Tarot Readings (Reading Tarot Cards Vertically)
So Iâve touched on the idea of reading vertically briefly in my other posts but I wanted to put together one that goes into it a little more deeply.
When I say âread verticallyâ I mean considering the card as part of other cards with its same number, including the Major Arcana cards. It looks like this:
How to Understand Vertical Themes
Cards of the same number tend to have a similar higher level narrative theme.
Fives are my favorite example for this because of how much this layer of meaning can add to interpreting them. In the Rider-Waite Major Arcana, we have the Heirophant (5) and the Devil (15) â cards about the material world either being in balance or wildly out of balance.
5 of Pentacles is a card of sickness and poverty, 5 of Cups is reflective of losing a loved one or a breakup, 5 of Wands is work/goal oriented conflict with others or a hostile workplace, and 5 of Swords is about the kind of intellect that alienates you from others and arguments you win at the cost of your relationship with that person.
Within the Minor Arcana 5âs, we can see a theme of conflict, of desire and lack. When you take the Major Arcana into account it adds a new dimension â that these conflicts are a result of imbalance (the Devil) and are significant events in a personâs life that challenges them materially and spiritually (the Heirophant).
When 5âs are taken into consideration with the rest of the deck, we see theyâre often the turning point from pure enthusiasm to deep commitment, when the crafter devotes themselves to the craft, when the lover must confront their own internal world so that they may try to invite another into it again.
Thatâs usually a lot more information than the few keywords that came in your deck booklet for each card (or the paragraphs of story if you shelled out for the proper book).
This will work better for some numbers than others but itâs always a useful lens to begin looking at your deck through.
Practice: Take each column and jot down key words, themes, symbols, or other ideas that seem to occur across all of them. Include the Major Arcana if you can but exclude them if it doesnât make sense for your deck.
Reading Vertically in Practice
Hereâs where I think reading vertically really shines.
Weâve all been there, we pull out a set of cards that on the surface donât seem to be connected at all and youâve got a querent sitting there patiently waiting for you to shed some light on their situation.
Reading vertically gives you another layer to investigate the cards, one that allows for more free associations than flipping through a book or going symbol spotting. Free association is the bread and butter of intuition work. Itâs where your intuition gets to really come through.
The key is that while reading vertically is thematic, itâs still specific. Reading vertically isnât going to give you themes like âloveâ, itâs going to give you âyouâre at a turning point, youâre out of balance, and you better jump ship or redouble your effortsâ.
Iâve often found itâs the layer that makes readings âfeel spookyâ to people I read for.
Practice: Draw cards at random or go in order and write down initial impressions, where the card falls narratively in its suit, and associations with others of itâs number. Then copy down meanings from the book that accompanies the deck. Compare.
Companion Books Are Useful, But Incomplete
The book that accompanies a deck is not the be all end all of card meanings. Decks have to be personalized in some way to the people who are reading them so thereâs an interplay there. The author offers up their meanings, but you have to them meet them with your interpretations. For folks with a more academic bent, Hallâs encoding/decoding model of communication speaks nicely to how I understand and teach Tarot.
So thatâs why I think itâs so important that people learning tarot do some amount of deep self-directed study beyond memorization of whatâs in the book. Itâs an incomplete picture otherwise. I offer up horizontal and vertical reading as a way to develop those personal associations and connect cards more deeply with your particular experiences/worldview.
That space between how the deck understands itself and how you understand it is where intuition can really flourish.
I hope this helps! If you have any questions, let me know!
*I do not claim my way is the one true way so take what is useful and leave the rest.

Mermaidâs Song Tarot Spread
This is a spread that can be used in a variety of situations, so get creative! The idea for this spread was given to me by starry-eyed-cinammon-child with an idea that I also think would make a wonderful story idea.Â
âWhat about that story idea that mermaids are the women who were drowned because the sailors thought women on a ship was bad luck?â
The Sailor - Who/what is pulling you down. The negative influence.
The Sinking - Where you are now, and what to learn or take away from the situation.
The Transformation - What you need to change.
The Tail - Who or what helps you.
The Song - Your strength, or where you can draw your strength from.
The Story - The outcome.

Spring Flowers
Spring is almost here and our gardens begin to grow and bloom. The plants that we grow can be used been used in magic and have been for hundreds of years. Flowers, in particular, are often connected with a variety of magical uses. Now that spring is here, keep an eye out for some of these flowers around you, and consider the different magical applications they might have. And maybe even use them in your Spring Magic!Â
Crocus
These flowers are usually one of the first you will see and they are associated with newly blooming love. They are also known to enhance visions and bring about intuitive dreams.
Daffodil
Daffodil petals are typically found in shades of white, yellow or even pale orange. This flower is associated with love and fertility. Place fresh ones in your home to bring about abundance. Wear this flower close to your heart to draw love and luck. Place daffodils on your altar during workings related to love, especially if itâs a new relationship and youâre still trying to figure out how to navigate the waters. Add potted daffodil bulbs to your altar for spring celebrations (donât worry if theyâre not blooming yet), along with other spring flowers such as forsythia, crocus, and snowdrops.
DandelionÂ
The leaf of the dandelion is used for healing, purification, and ritual cleansing. The bright yellow flowers can be used in divination or placed in a sachet to draw good energy your way. In some magical belief systems, the dandelion is associated with growth and transformation; after all, a few dandelion flowers soon turn into hundreds of seeds waiting to travel around to repopulate. Thereâs also a connection to moving on: If youâve got a bad habit you want to get rid of, associate it with a dandelion puff, and then blow it out away from you.
EchinaceaÂ
Also called purple cone flower, this garden mainstay adds a little bit of magical âoomphâ to charms and sachets. Use it for prosperity related workings: Burn the dried flowers in incense, and use on your altar during rituals.
Goldenseal
This sunny yellow flower is often found growing in the wild, alongside roads, and in fields. Use it in money spells, or for business dealings. Work it into charms connected to matters of financial gain or legal issues.
Hibiscus
This flower was named for Hyakinthos, a Greek divine hero who was beloved by Apollo, so itâs sometimes considered the patron herb of homosexual men.
Hyacinth is also known to promote peaceful sleep, and guards against nightmares. Carry in an amulet to help heal a broken heart or to ease grief when a loved one dies.
LillyThe Easter lily or Tiger lily is associated with all kinds of spring connections: fertility, rebirth, renewal, and abundance.
TulipThe tulip appears in many different colours and varieties but is typically connected to prosperity. You can use the different coloured variations in colour magic: Use a dark strain such as Queen of the Night for full moon rituals, or bright red flowers for love magic.
Violet
In Roman myth, the first violet sprung from the spilled blood of the god Attis, who killed himself for Cybele, the mother goddess.
However, today the violet is associated with tranquillity and peace. The leaf offers protection from evil and can be sewn into a pillow or sachet. Carry the petals with you to bring about luck and enhance night time magic. These pretty purple flowers are everywhere in the spring and early summer, so itâs a perfect opportunity to do a bit of flower magic. Dry the flowers in the sun, and use them in an incense blend to bring about sweet dreams and restful sleep. You may even want to sew them into a pillow like our Dream Pillow. The violet is also associated with dedication and loyalty. If you want your lover to be constant and true, offer a bundle of violets as a gift or plant a patch in front of the personâs home.
Remember that some plants can be toxic to pets. Before you plant or pick any of these, be sure to check to make sure it wonât be harmful to your furry companions.

Stop Learning Tarot Cards Like Flash Cards (Youâre Better Than That)
One thing Iâve noticed as Iâve started teaching tarot cards to other people is that they have a tendency to think that every card has an individual meaning and it is their duty to memorize 78 complex sets of meanings before they can begin reading for others.Â
Thatâs simply not true.Â
Itâs also incredibly inefficient and totally kneecaps you when you move on to learn another deck (and try memorizing ANOTHER 78 complex sets of meanings). Cards exist in relation to one another. Understanding those relationships lets you remember meanings quicker, better understand how cards in a spread might be connected, and give much smoother readings.Â
If youâre learning Tarot for the first time or looking to bush up, hereâs my advice after reading cards for 10 years. Please, learn from my mistakes. Tarot is a language
In the same way you learn letters and string them into words and then string words into sentences to communicate, tarot is a language you learn so your intuition can communicate more fully with you and others. And like a language, itâs often best to start with the phrases that youâll use the most.Â
Practice: Go through your deck and pick out no more than 12 cards that are really calling to you and look up those meanings. Write them down if youâre up for it. Go through your deck and pick out no more than 12 cards that give you a feeling of unease and do the same. Notice any reoccurring symbols?
 Tarot is a story
How you understand that story may vary on your tradition, your experience level, your aims. Most standard Tarot decks follow the Foolâs Journey through the Major Arcana as he becomes more skilled and then more enlightened. A similar pattern can be seen in each of the suits. The Court Cards are less narrative in my opinion but a similar progression can be seen.Â
Practice: Take out each of the suits one at a time and lay them out in a row. Read the meanings of each card and see how the story progresses. Write down a summary. Do the same with each of other suitsâ courts and the major arcana.
Tarot is a system
You arenât fluent until you know the language well enough to speak smoothly and in most situations. Similarly, it takes understanding Tarot at a high level to give the best quality readings and read without a book. No card exists in isolation and just like when they show up in a reading, you must read them in relation to the rest of the spread - it helps a lot to know them in relation to the rest of the deck.Â
Practice: Lay every card in your deck out like this (pardon my bad MSPaint job). Major Arcana up top and Court Cards off to the right and all the numbers lined up with the Fool and World left hanging. Pick one of the cards that resonated with you in the first exercise and look at how it relates to all the other cards in the deck. If itâs the 8 of Pentacles, what do the other 8âČs look like and speak to? What do 8 (Strength) and 18 (the Moon) in the Major Arcana connect to it (if at all)? How does it relate to the rest of the story of the Pentacles? Hope this helps! If you have any questions, feel free to ask!Â

Methods of Seeing Spirits
Everyone sees spirits differently, some donât see them at all. This list is here to help you identify the way you may see spirits or sate your macabre curiosities. This is not a complete list by any means and is made to be a reference, not a how-to guide or a method of invalidation.Â
Astral Travel
Astral Travel is one of the most coveted tools in a spirit workers arsenal, as it takes time and practice to even end up on the astral, let alone be able to see everything vividly. Astral Travel allows the person to travel to a plain where spirits are naturally, making communication, relationships, and physical contact with them (via your astral body) possible. Despite popular belief, you do not have to astral travel to be a spirit worker, and in all honesty, I would not recommend it for a beginner as you can die on the astral and it has many other risks associated with it.
The Second Sight
The sight has been spoken of for centuries, sometimes with reverence, other times with dread. If you have the sight you are born with the innate ability to see otherworldly creatures and ghosts, and while this may sound amazing, itâs horrifying. You cannot turn it off, they know you can see them so they seek you out, and its there forever. If you do manage to shut them out you have definitely caused a major energy block which will have damaging effects in the future such as losing touch with spirituality, chronic migraines, and reoccurring nightmares. No one knows for sure why some people are born with the sight, some say its a curse, others say a Faery blessed you.
Energy Signatures
Energy Signatures is one of the most basic forms of seeing spirits that is common when you start spirit work. It is defined as seeing trace amounts of a spiritâs energy, whether it be a colored tendril, smoke, shadows, or even sparkles. It is the shadow you see out of the corner of your eye, the strange subtle light you see in a pitch black room, the fog in a room that doesnât belong.Â
Assisted Energy Signatures
Assisted energy signatures are when a spirit manifests their energy to let you see it or to let you know they are there and is fascinating to witness as it is normally stronger than unassisted energy signatures.
Forced Mental Imagery
Forced mental imagery is when a spirit sends a mental image into your mind for one reason or another. It could be as simple as an eye, a mouth, or a hand or as complex as whole scenes, actions, and words.
Mental Imagery
Mental imagery is when you see spirits in your mind, sometimes its just a face, other times itâs a full body image. You normally can see the spirit in your mind if you look around the room and it is easy for you to know where in the room they are.
Mind Scrying
Mind scrying is something I never really see anyone talk about. It is similar to mental imagery but more in-depth and requires more focus/control. You see spirits in your mind, but you can look through your house, property, or even general location and see what is around you. If you want to know what someone is doing you simply focus on them and you can see what theyâre doing in great detail and where they are, you can easily check your house for intruding spirits, etc.
Wax Seal Charms
From simple love spells to glamours and hexes, wax seal charms are a powerful and versatile tool for any witchâs arsenal. Small, inconspicuous, and easy to hide, these simple charms are useful for nearly any type of magick.
First, you will need a smooth work surface (I used the bottom of a ceramic bowl). Fold a small envelope from a square of paper. You want the envelope to be the same size as or smaller than the wax seal to ensure complete wax coverage.
Next, write your intent (or draw a sigil) on the inside of the envelope. Keep it simple or write very small.
You can add a small pinch of herbs (or a taglock) if you like, but try not to use too much or the charm wonât flatten and may not seal correctly.
Once youâve added your herbs, fold the envelope shut. You may need to squish it a little to keep it closed.
Pour your wax over the envelope, making sure to cover any open edges, and place your stamp in the molten wax. Apply light pressure for a few moments and then allow to cool.
Once completely cool, remove your stamp and peel the charm off your work surface.
And voila! A small, portable charm that can easily be slipped into a purse or wallet unnoticed.
