Happy Pride!
Every pride, you must reblog this. No exceptions
I love that four different people on my feed scheduled this joyous person to reblog by 8am on June 1. I look forward to seeing this a dozen more times today.
It's end of May, yall know what that means

levels of mutualship :
the closest thing to real soulmates you can find
we fought in the same trenches and have a warrior's bond that carries over into every stage of life
friend i sit next to in every class and pass notes to/whisper to constantly
academic peer/colleague that i respect and have a little intellectual crush on
neighbour in the same apartment block that i say hi to on the stairs
neighbour across the street who i wave at every morning and evening
we're regulars at the same bar
i can't even remember who you are but if you weren't here there would be something fundamental missing
which mutual is prev?

I’m blindsided by authors using ai in their works. how can readers and writers tell if the writing is ai generated?
I’m gonna assume writers know whether or not their own works are ai because they either write them themselves or have ai write for them.
but as for readers (or writers who read other writers’ works), no, you can’t tell unless the writer themself says their works are ai generated. anything else is witch hunt, speculations and possibly wrongful accusations — all of which harm the writing community as much as ai does, if not more.
so if at any point you think an untagged work is ai and if that bothers you, quietly click away. but you can never know for sure based on vibes. because everything ai writes, a human writer does. that’s what ai was trained on and what it was trained to mimic.
I’ve already talked more about this here, here, here. and more on my other blog @writingdose here and here.
You can notice certain telltale signs in some of the writing, such as short sentence stacking and usage of "not x not y but z" structures. But you have to be familiar with AI writing styles to be able to notice that.
I’ve been writing “not x, not y, but z” way before gen ai became a thing. I’ve read works that have “not x, not y, but z” in them, and I’ve read those works way before gen ai became a thing. I’ve also been using em dash way before gen ai became a thing, and I’ve seen em dash used in so many written works way before gen ai became a thing. I know for a fact some human writers actually prefer short sentence stacking too.
every “ai telltale” is something humans write before, otherwise ai wouldn’t have been able to mimic it in the first place. because it needs human-made works to mimic on.
when I say ai witch hunt, speculations and accusations harm the writing community as much as ai does, if not more, “not x, not y, but z” and em dash are one of the main things I’m talking about.
As I saw someone say recently, when you start declaring "obvious tells," from punctuation to sentence styles, to be proof of AI, what you're actually spotting is trace amounts of the original source material.
thinking about how little time gorgo and mydei got to have with each other in most of the cycles… let’s be doomed with mama :’)
someone made a website where you can declare your favorite pokemon & why. let's all see if every pokemon is someone's favorite... Together
@kahtherinee Fennekin's only got three votes
mine said "your favorite has someone now," and I see soo many that don't have any apparently??? heart breaking, go give your obscure favorites love NOW
Looking through the pokedex to see what other people have put so far is really interesting. Here are some highlights I noticed:
Only 25 have not been claimed yet, surprisingly 2 in the original 151!
Kakuna has exactly 3 fans and one person's explanation is just "kakuna matata" and I love that.
Bulbasaur is the most popular of the original 3 starters, and Charmander is the least popular. BUT the opposite is true of their final evolutions. Weird.
Exaclty 2 people (so far of course) love Exeggcute most, and the only explanation between the two of them is "I like eggs." So I see Debbie from the Amanda Show has submitted her vote.
Goldeen only has one fan rn and their reason is a very specific battle from the Unknown movie they watched as a kid.
I'm very surprised that Dragonair has ZERO votes rn. Like I know the middle evolution is almost always gonna be the lowest of the line, but to have NONE when Dratini has 37 and Dragonite has 157 is crazy to me. Personally I never wanted to evolve past Dragonair because I think Dragonite looks stupid and I hate the huge design shift (sorry you 157 fans).
Obligatory "Praise Helix" comments on Omanyte and Omastar of course.
Of the 26 Miltank lovers, only one comment is sexual so that's nice.
Mudkip and Blaziken do the same swapped ranking stats as Bulbasaur and Charizard.
The crime of separating Plusle and Minun has created a disparity between the two. Plusle only has 5 while Minun has 12. I wonder if more people just like blue?
Only 7 votes for my former top fav Seviper. Which is slightly surprising considering how long it ran with Jessie in the anime. Oh well, maybe its fans moved on over the years (like me).
Lunatone and Solrock are perfectly balanced with 4 votes each.
Lots of single voters in the Hoenn region, but surprisingly no zeroes here. It's the only region fully completed.
Someone said their favorite is Joltik because it could defibrilate them if they drink too many 4Lokos. Like. Okay.
The only voter for Rufflet loves it because it was their first shiny they found. It was mine too, rip Phantom I will forever mourn your transfered and erased pixels.
The only Vullaby vote: "diva baby." Yeah that checks out.
I cannot believe Chespin has more votes than Froakie. I simply refuse to accept it.
Someone apparently shiny hunted all 19 variants of Vivillon and that's mind boggling to me. How would you even do that????
The first (and only) missing starter line pokemon is the middle of Rowlet and Decidueye, and to be fair I also don't even remember its name...
This region also has the first legendary without any votes: Cosmoem.
Someone just said "gender envy" for Hatterene.
Lots of people across the board said their favorite was because of that pokemon carrying a Nuzlocke, which when I looked at Nuzleaf I was suddenly viscerally reminded of where the term originated. I had blocked Nuzlocke himself visually from my mind apparently.
The other common type of explanation people put was to just start listing abilities and moves, which is really funny to me as a person who has only ever cared about vibes when it came to my favs.
