Somewhere Between Real Life and Falling

I used to want to write so that I could be famous and buy my own island. I wrote it as my future plans in my yearbook when I graduated high school, but unfortunately no one thought I was serious. Part of me still wants that island, but it’s not the reason why I write. Since I was 11, I’ve always had something I needed to say. I never said it out loud, but instead would write for hours in notebooks until my hands ached. When I was done, an entire world rested on the pages of whatever notebook I was in at the moment. Writing is the only thing I can think of to communicate with the world. If my story needs to be told, the only way of reaching anyone is to grab their attention, reel them in and keep them holding on. And maybe one day I can do that from an island somewhere.
