It’s a big deal when people I’ve studied closely give me their time. It was a personally profound moment for me to interview my producing mentor @navidibarry. Barry shared a story of iconic actor Paul Newman telling him he wasn’t ready to make a particular screenplay into a film because he lacked certain life experiences. Years later, Barry told me something similar regarding my screenplay for @justiceforhire, stating that I wasn’t there yet as a film director. I WAS SO UPSET because I had worked so hard to build the JFH brand across short films and comics and more and had already turned down several indie and Hollywood offers for the project because they weren’t exactly what I wanted. To have Barry say that to be put me on an intense mission to sharpen my directing skills, and put me on the unique path that has put @justiceforhire and @reelwurld in their own lane in the industry.
