Devilâs Fingers
The picture above is of a mushroom thats thought to be a specimen of Clathrus archeri right before its fingers open up. It closely resembles a hand coming out of the ground. It even has the remnants of its tattered sleeves attached to the wrist.

ghosts are real and theyâre everywhere. in old photographs tucked safely in a box under your bed. in the walls of your childhood home waiting for you to come back. they live in old text messages and emails. forever frozen in time. they haunt your old best friends neighborhood. flickering in the street lamps. occasionally, on very rare summer afternoons; when the sun shines through the kitchen window in a certain way and all of the sudden you get this feeling in your stomach of melancholia; that is a haunting. a possession. those are ghosts trying to find comfort in the present because the past they once lived in no longer exists.
People with low spoons, someone just recommended this cookbook to me, so I thought I'd pass it on.
I always look at cookbooks for people who have no energy/time to do elaborate meal preparations, and roll my eyes. Like, you want me to stay on my feet for long enough to prepare 15 different ingredients from scratch, and use 5 different pots and pans, when I have chronic fatigue and no dishwasher?
These people seem to get it, though. It's very simple in places. It's basically the cookbook for people who think, 'I'm really bored of those same five low-spoons meals I eat, but I can't think of anything else to cook that won't exhaust me'. And it's free!

forever and always insane about the fact that haunting means "heimsuchen" in german which literally translates to "homeseeking". a haunting is a search for a home you can never return to

Good for this person. This is exactly what you do. Screw the job.
I had a job that made me work an all nighter, 30 hours straight, over Thanksgiving. I resigned that Monday and it was one of the most satisfying decisions Iâve ever made.
Part 3:
Please pay attention to all the manipulation tactics this boss uses, because theyâre pulling out every trick in the book.
âIâm not your boss, Iâm your friendâ
âOther people will be hurt by this and itâs your fault and Iâm going to tell them all thatâ
Mocking language
Jobs are important too
âBe a team playerâ
âWeâre your family tooâ
Talking as if this is a thing you must do
âWe all make sacrificesâ
Undermining your authority
âYou caused all of this, reallyâ
Accusing you of being âunprofessionalâ
âLook at the money you cost usâ
âJust laugh it off and come back to workâ
This is like a 101 course in how employers use guilt trips to coerce you into putting up with their bullshit. This is precisely why you should never trust those employers who insist that theyâre âlike a family.â They are not. Itâs just a ruse so that your boss can neg you into putting your job ahead of your actual life.
