Bridgerton | S04E02, "Time Transfixed"
Oh???? Did I just see Eloise finally get some deserved lashings for her woman-hating attitude????
Hating on all things "feminine" and berating other women for liking them is indeed misogynistic, even if she is unaware of it in her desperation to escape from what SHE believes marriage is to a woman
It's one thing to say "I don't get it myself, but I am happy to see you are happy", but it's another to constantly be like "You like THIS??? LAMMMMEEEEE UGGGHHHH"
Like damn I like sewing is that such a horrible thing

I got a comment today that said smth along the lines of "I didn't wanna be weird commenting on a four month old fic"
Baby, bless your heart but four months isn't old by any means and ao3 isn't fucking instagram. Comment on fics you like, regardless of how old they are! The worst that could happen is you make an author's day. Writing is art, not content.

One line from Bridgerton that always gets me and isn't talked about enough is Penelope's request at the modiste in 3x01.
"Perhaps something like what they are wearing in Paris?"
This line has no right being as heartbreaking as it is. Penelope has just made the decision to find a husband. She has decided that she has to leave her dream of Colin behind and do what she must... except that one little line gives her away. That line is the tiny spark of hope that is left in her. Hope that maybe this time he will see her. Hope that she is unable to let go of, no matter how futile she knows that hope to be. It's an incredibly vulnerable moment, and Nicola Coughlan delivers it perfectly.

“I will find you,“ he whispered in my ear. “I promise. If I must endure two hundred years of purgatory, two hundred years without you - then that is my punishment, which I have earned for my crimes. For I have lied, and killed, and stolen; betrayed and broken trust. But there is the one thing that shall lie in the balance. When I shall stand before God, I shall have one thing to say, to weigh against the rest.“
His voice dropped, nearly to a whisper, and his arms tightened around me.
“Lord, ye gave me a rare woman, and God! I loved her well.” (Dragonfly in Amber)
