you can stay indoors all day when the sun is out, and sometimes it's nice like a cool draught from a tranquil spring, but watch out because if you stay indoors for two days in a row while the sun is out you start doing odd gothic literature things, stalking the halls and passages and muttering to yourself and parting the blinds to gaze down at your neighbours with a haunted look before turning away to contemplate your mannequins #yourmannequins. three days and you're basically fucked. you have to throw a towel over your head to scurry as far as the store for milk and people jeer at you like frankenstein's monster.

I take back what I said earlier: I would absolutely sell my craft creations, and by "sell" I mean "trade for something I equally value". Do you like my punk rock giraffe stuffie? You can have one for $81... or a bag full of coreopsis seeds. A knit fringe lumberjack hat? Thats $195... or a jar of local honey. Ill sew new clothes for all of your kid's dolls, usually $300+ in labor and material, but Id rather they draw me a really cool picture that I can hang on my fridge.

when I go to the doctor and ask them to describe what they are going to do before touching me they get frustrated

when I ask a friends of a friend who is a small influencer to keep me out of frame in videos they film for social media in public they look at me like I've pissed in their cereal

First time actually trying my hand at tweening and frame-by-frame, so I came up with something silly because I like drawing Sam dancing... he got some moves.

Tell me why I'm sitting here thinking about Grace’s eye sight just… Devolving with old age on Erid, coupled with his very outdated prescription, Grace knew it was going to come for him, it was just a matter of time.

Like Rocky begins to notice Grace tilting his head towards sound like Eridians do when his eye sight starts to go, but he leaves it alone for the time being. Surely, if something was wrong, Grace would feel comfortable enough to say something.

Grace is squinting more often at the screen of the computer, not a big deal, he tells Rocky, it’s pretty normal for eye sight to change for humans over time, he makes it a joke and says he’s on his way to being more Eridian. Too bad he can’t use echolocation like they can, though.

But, then one day, Grace can't see the steps to get down from the biodome house. Like, Rocky has to help him get down so without even telling Grace while he's teaching that day, the accommodation is made and instead of steps, it's paved smooth with little tactiles on the borders to help Grace not lose his footing.

Rocky and the other Eridians start to realize that ‘not seeing’ in human standards was very different than ‘not seeing’ in Eridian standards. It’s a complete change to the navigational aspects of Grace’s life and god I want to write a fic about this so bad.

look, shipping canon!aroace characters, as much as it pains me to say, is not wrong. I do hate it and will block you, but no personal hatred or harassment here.

The issue comes when people try and claim theyre NOT canonically aroace. Its fine to be like "This character is aroace but im making them X for this fic". Weird but fine. It is not okay to say "actually character is not aroace theyre actually X canonically idc about the source material". The second one is erasure, plain and simple.

Most important to address is the hypocrisies. IF YOU WOULDN'T DO IT TO GAY OR LESBIAN CHARACTER WHY ARE YOU DOING IT TO AN AROACE?

That needs to be addressed; do you value aroace people less? do you see our identity as less worthy of respect or acknowledgement? is there a reason you would change a canonical idenitiy when its an aromantic or asexual idenity, but you would loose it if someone shipped your favourite yaoi with a woman or yuri with a man?

Just food for thought.

the best fanfiction you've ever read was written by a woman in her 40s before she made dinner for her kids. it was written by a teenager after school when they should've been studying for a history test. and a barista came up with the idea while they cleaned the espresso machine and busser fact-checked it on their break and the post-doc edited between writing grant proposals and the nurse apologized for typos in the notes after a long shift and behind every drabble and one-shot and multi-chapter fic there is a person with a wonderful and interesting and chaotic life and it is such a privilege that we get to be a part of it because they decided to do this thing we all share, for fun.
