Hi there, youâre not bothering at all! Your plant looks like a badly etiolated Sedum, either album or acre, at this point is hard to tell. Etiolated means extremely elongated and weakened by lack of quality sun exposure. Your plant needs more light, and to be in it for longer, but the elongated stems will stay this way.Â

I often tell my boyfriend that having a knowledge of Latin makes for a good laugh when it comes to the âscientificâ names we have given things. And very often âweâ actually means Mr Carl Linnaeus, the father of the binomial system, which consists of giving things a genus name and species name. Take this mushroom for example: however fancy its name might sound, youâre just calling it shameless penis, but in an a different language so...I guess itâs ok. Other species within the genus are the pygmy penis (P. pygmaeus), the very tiny penis (P. minusculus) and the multicolour penis (P. multicolor) just to name a few. A rather unique group of fungi.  Â
Thatâs also the point with the binomial system though, it is often quite descriptive and that can help greatly by providing immediate and important information about a species. Not particularly useful in the case of the mushroom in the photo, which Linnaeus apparently considered shameless...   Â
I got this yesterday at the flea market! There werenât any labels or anything around it, so I donât know what it is exactly, can anyone help me identify it?

Common names include fruit salad plant, fruit salad tree (in reference to its edible fruit, which tastes similar to a fruit salad), ceriman, Swiss cheese plant (or just cheese plant), monster fruit, monsterio delicio, monstereo, Mexican breadfruit, locust and wild honey, windowleaf, balazo, and Penglai banana.
The pod it produces has a fruity taste similar to jackfruit and pineapple. The unripe green fruits can irritate the throat and the latex of the leaves and vines can create rashes in the skin, because both contain potassium oxalate: that is the reason why the fruits have to be consumed when the scales lift up.

Although they are somewhat similar, I think this is actually a Philodendron bipinnatifidum!Â
You might be right. I did see a fruit forming similar to Monstera though
The fact Monstera deliciosa is often called split leaf philodendron does add to the confusion between the two species, but this video shows quite well how different they are. They are also both Araceae and this family has very peculiar fruits so itâs not weird they are somewhat similar, but the Philodendronâs arenât edible :)Â

House âolder than Stonehengeâ found in East Ayrshire field
The remains of a pre-historic dwelling older than Stonehenge or the Callanish Stones have been found in a field in East Ayrshire.Â
Archaeologists believe the site near Kilmarnock is 6,000-years-old and was settled as man moved away from nomadic existence towards farming the land.
The discovery has been described as one of the most important of its kind in recent years.
Excavations have unearthed a number of post-holes which formed part of a rectangular building and fragments of Neolithic carinated bowl, used for cooking and storage.Â
It is thought that they date to around 4000 BC.Â
The rectilinear hall, which measured 14m in length and 8m in width, belonged to a type of house built by the first farming communities in Scotland. Read more.
Tutsan berries (Hypericum androsaemum)Â
This is one of the plants I wanted to try propagate because Iâve never done it before, just yesterday I collected a bunch of the fruits, as I forgot to take cuttings earlier on in the season and itâs now a bit too late. The seeds can be sown in spring and take a while to establish, weâll see how itâll go if I decide to sow them!

Thereâs no doubt that blue is rare in the garden. However, when they are present they create a more relaxing and cool atmosphere.
Iris, Baptisia australis, Meconopsis betonicifolia, Amsonia, Centaurea, Hydrangea, Penstemon, and Myosotis are some of the best sources for blue in the garden.
Blue flowers, especially when they have some contrasting yellow, are my favourite and in particular I love Meconopsis betonicifolia and any blue Iris!Â
The Mistletoe Cactus (Rhipsalis pilocarpa) cuttings I got from my grandmother this summer grew a bunch of seed pods, from which I harvested around 50 seeds. The plant was actively flowering when the leaves were cut, so Iâm very surprised that it was able to root and develop seed pods at the same time.
I canât wait for the Rhipsalis I bought from @agavex to flower, but it will probably still be a good while!
Man this combo still just totally floors me. Thatâs just two Streptocarpella plants which I got initially in 4 inch pots and a Dichondra on each side, plus a corksctew rush/juncus in the middle. Itâs just wild itâs only been fertilizer maybe three or four times and the pot is far too small at this point (and you canât even see it) and it still keeps getting new flowers. I will be sad go see this goâŚ
I didnât know you had a Streptocarpus saxorum!! I really want to try and grow one as a houseplant, isnât it amazing??Â
Id requested by @somuchawkwerd, hoped it would take me longer and be more of a challenge as I had never seen this plant, but the seed pods and remaining leaves sent me looking in the direction of Fabaceae, and it quickly turned out to be Baptisia alba, the white wild indigo native to North America. A beautiful plant with an interesting structure.Â

Yo, so there are TWO jewelweeds! Impatiens capensis, pictured here, and I. pallida, which has yellow flowers. This one is much more widespread, so itâs probably the one I usually see. I. pallida has, on average, maybe slightly wider/rounder leaves, but I really canât tell them apart - maybe never would have realized there were two if they werenât both blooming at the same time beside this spring.
I would really trade I. capensis for the omnipresent and super invasive I. glandulifera! It is beautiful too, comes in many shades of pink and white, but is a huge ecological problem here across the pond. And I like orange more!
As for I. pallida, I found it growing very sparsely as a weed under some hedges at the Glasgow Botanic Gardens, but I donât think itâs actually part of the collection at the moment because I havenât found it grown properly and labelled anywhere!

can anyone heep me identify these beautiful flowers? they grow in my side yard they are kin n of bushy. we will be moving and i want to know the best way to collect seeds so i can plant them at our new house next year
Mirabilis jalapa, the four oâclock flower, I love this plant! You can collect the seeds and sow them in a sunny position in early spring if you live in a place which doesnât get much frost. I brought seeds over from Italy to Scotland but summer here doesnât seem to be long or warm enough, they grew but never flowered.Â

I think it is a Dyckia, not sure which one because there are several species and even more cultivars. Dyckias are Bromeliaceae, so in the pineapple family. Maybe @markunsan knows which one this is?Â
