Hi, I don't know if you're gonna see this, but I wanted to ask you what you think about this kane/diyoza thing...After 508, for the 1st time I'm kinda scared that something will happen between them. If there is even something it seems that it's only on her side and I always thought (and am still thinking) that kane doesn't care and would never do that to abby epecially after all the s5 scenes so far but I see more and more people who think it will happen, even in one review... […] Because she’ll be a better doctor.”“You mean feeding an addict’s addiction to save your people’s lives without a thought for the life you’re destroying?”“And a real medical centre, for Abby.”There is no “first half” of the season, here. Abby is still Kane’s #1 priority; and Diyoza knows it. He’d be willing to have the blood of Diyoza’s people on his hands if it meant Abby could finally get clean. He knows where the responsibility lies - yes, with Abby, but even in 508, he knows that it’s Diyoza enabling her to make that choice. He might have distanced himself from Abby, but he did so because he loves her - he’s putting the power fully in her hands, which is the opposite of what he did at the start of the season - “you took away my choice”, remember? He’s spent six years trying to be a support for Abby through this addiction - like, please, let’s not discount that - but he knows now that it has to be a decision that’s entirely hers, made entirely for herself, and having him around isn’t helping that. The second she starts making progress - he’ll be back. He’s practically chomping at the bit as it stands right now, heading out on long walks to imagine a better future for them - for her. So, am I interested in watching Kane and Diyoza connect and challenge each other as leaders? Yes. Do I think there will ever be a romantic connection? Absolutely fucking not.
