I hope Steve Harvey doesn’t announce the powerball numbers.

I couldn't leave without visiting the fields that started it all. A lot of lessons were taught here; some of which I didn't fully understand until now. Lessons about learning to take chances in life and saying yes to opportunities. It's remembering that feeling you have as you draw the line in the dirt with your cleats as you stand on first base, motioning the pitcher, ready to take off for the steal to second. It's the feelings of support and guidance from your base coach, but knowing that it's up to you to watch closely, pay attention and take the chance to move forward. It's about trusting yourself and always knowing that win or lose, safe or out, showing up and giving 100% of your best is what matters most. You learn what you can from the outs and the losses. You dust off the rest and keep moving forward. Life has a way of unfolding moments at just the right time. Moments that remind us why it matters to follow our dreams and stay in our truth. Moments that remind us to take a chance at life and not just wait for the perfect pitch straight down the line. Sometimes the sweet-spots come from the change ups and curveballs. Here's to a new year of growing, learning and becoming! #Happy2016 (at Ferndale, Washington)
