When we're faced with a task we often just try and get it done without spending much time thinking about the process by which we'll be doing it. A little time up front optimizing the process is a good way to differentiate yourself from your peers and make yourself indispensable at your job. There is an episode of PBS American Experience about Henry Ford and he lived these words.
