Huang Renjun was an outcast for as long as he can remember. Not just that - even though people knew of the myriad of misfortune’s that plagued his life - Huang Renjun was tormented for being an outcast. He was never given the luxury of choosing his own fate - damnation was already set out for him.

And if there’s something he knows better than he knows himself, it’s the concept of waiting. In primary school, while most kids looked forward to the summer holidays and birthday parties and sleepovers at their friends’ houses, Renjun looked forward to middle school. It’ll be different, he thought, I’ll move schools and make new friends and no one will know about mommy leaving so they won’t look at me weird. He was a hopeful little boy with a hopeful glint in his eyes and an unfaltering spirit in a life that didn’t deserve much hope at all.

no offence to anyone but i hate reading idol!member fics because i want them to be silly and normal people. give johnny that coffee shop owner story and mark his creative writing degree! make jaehyun a silly goofy architecture undergrad. make haechan a lawyer who’s feared by everyone because he’s just so quick with his wits and he only picks up cases he knows he can win in court. give taeyong that baker!au he so desperately needs. make jaemin a surgeon and jeno a f1 driver. i dont need them as idols because i already have them as such, i need them as normal people i can relate to. give them the lives they could have lived if they weren’t in the industry

mark, or spiderman, depending on who you ask is a bit overwhelmed. being really smart and a really cool superhero at the same time isn’t easy, yknow? haechan’s constant nagging that he needs a girlfriend doesn’t exactly help either. sometimes he wonders if instead of choosing music and physics as his double major, he should’ve done MEDICINE and physics with how bruised he finds himself on the daily. the walks to class hurt, but the feeling those A’s give him are unmatched (except for maybe not dying while fighting a supervillain).

haechan is marks bestfriend and the only person who knows he’s spiderman. in a dream world haechan could brag about how much mark trusts him without having to explain the whole self proclaimed “spiderman sidekick” thing. haechan is his own biggest fan, which can be kinda annoying at times, but with the way takes care of mark at their dorm after knowing he had a pretty long & strenuous fight last night, he makes up for it ten fold.

jeno is the sweetest guy ever. the amount of times hes almost asked all the right questions to figure out mark’s spiderman is ridiculous, but this man is way too nice to pester him. mark met jeno in their shared songwriting class & they immediately hit it of musically, leading to a natural friendship between them. mark is still amazed by the fact that jeno is buffer than him, yet HE’S the superhero out of the two.

jaemin is mark's lord & savior. once mark finally got tired of being insanely sore after fights, he asked around (made haechan do it) for the nicest med student, & that led him to jaemin. jaemin being jaemin, he didn’t hesitate to help. jaemin still thinks to this day that mark is the worst but most motivated skater this world has ever seen with the amount he sees this man. although, these constant visits have led to them becoming very close & being in the same friend group.

jisung is very expressive about marks “skating” to say the least. he will see one scratch on mark & start having a full on conniption because “IF YOU ARE REALLY THAT BAD AT SKATING YOU NEED TO WEAR PADS OR SOMETHING, JEEZ’. this worrying is what got them to be friends. does and will continue to make mark go to his soccer games whenever he can so he can watch his footwork & maybe (not gonna happen) show up to physics unbeaten for once.

fashion student y/n is amazed every day by the fact that she got into nyu. this girl's gpa was actually horrendous, if it wasn’t for her styling skills, she would probably work at the gas station. takes all of giselle’s music recs. renjun super fan, chenle anti. introverted, but will not shut up once she trusts you.

art student renjun is yn’s self proclaimed king. yn swears up and down he’s the most talented artist alive, hence the only reason she puts up with his attitude. friends since high school, renjun and yn are basically attached at the hip. very caring friend but does it stealthily. doesn’t talk very much but thats okay, yn talks enough for the both of them.

giselle met yn on the first day of their college careers after she walked into yn’s apparel construction class thinking it was her music theory class. yn fell in love with her smile instantly & asked for her number, & they’ve been besties since. takes all yns fashion advice. queen of giving good advice & yns biggest hype man.

if asked what she thought of chenle when she first met him, yn would’ve said he was the most insufferable person she’s ever met, that is if she could form a coherent thought seeing as he just hit her in the face with a basketball. this man had the audacity to laugh at first, but after buying yn lunch for a month straight & explaining that the laugh was just out of disbelief, she learned to put up with and eventually love him. this does not mean she doesn’t remind him of this instance at every turn just to set him off.

jaemin was introduced to yn by chenle. jaem showed yn a picture of his cats, & the rest is history. the funniest person ever in yns eyes & the most caring. #1 grape surgeon at nyu (self proclaimed). jaemin is friends with anyone & everyone you could possibly think of. you could make up a person and he’d probably still know them. walking beam of sunlight.

ningning is basically yns daughter. after giselle introduced them, yn has taken any and every opportunity to dote on ning & remind her shes the best. after realizing they had the same major, the two became inseparable, even now sharing a dorm. wearing a matching outfit w yn 9/10 & talking about some random new girl every week that she has a hallway crush on 10/10.
