Im FE3H anon! I'll be getting into spoilers
So the game is a strategy RPG where you play as Byleth Eisner, a mercenary who becomes a teacher at the Garreg Mach Monastery. Its a game with 4 different story routes and they're all actually extremely deep and interesting. As the name implies, there are 3 different houses which you can choose to be the teacher of. The Blue Lions, The Golden Deers, or the Black Eagles. The main route I like, Crimson Flower, focuses on the Black Eagles. The Black Eagles are mostly the villain of every other route, but are actually complex characters.
Byleth's kinda main character tropes are: He [i play as male byleth so I'm gonna use he/him, but you can also play as a female version of them] is.. kinda sharing a brain with Sothis, the goddess of the land. And, he has the crest of Flames. Crests are kinda a symbol of strength, and are in your blood. The crest of Flames is an ancient crest only held by like a really important figure from ancient times.
In the Crimson Flower route, you team up with Edelgard [black eagles house leader] to revolt against the Church. And, also, to destroy the Crest system and just general social hiarchy.
The other Black Eagles are: Hubert, Linhardt, Caspar, Petra, Bernadetta, Dorothea, and Ferdinand.
Most of which are crest holders and nobles, except Dorothea.
Theyre also mostly magic users [Hubert, Linhardt, and Dorothea all using magic.] But Petra and Bernie use bows, Petra also uses sword, Caspar is a heavy hitter [gauntlets], and Bernie and Ferdinand use lance. [As you can see, some dual-wield]
Also, some honorary members: Jeritza [death knight, fights with you post timeskip -- lance user], Monica [dead in the first game, but in FEW3H you automatically recruit her -- she uses magic], Lysithea [the only character i managed to recruit post timeskip -- also magic user]
Edelgard is seen as a villain by most of the fandom, but she has very valid reason to be destroying the social hiarchy. She was literally tested on and got a crest injected into her [the crest of Flames, the same one Byleth has]
