Some character studies and concept art from A Bug’s Life. I’m glad they made Flik a blue ant versus red. And furry spiders are so much creepier than sleek black ones. It’s important to make sure that the audience can be comfortable with and ultimately bond with their heroes, and making them unattractive or just plain “gross” can certainly hinder that effort.
