          A smile played across their lips, idly moving an arm to wrap around Arceus’ shoulders, his Successor pressing a kiss to his cheek. Looks like Apath’s just about done moving their things back into their room--home, and home to stay.

                                                                                       “I missed ya. Ya doin’ alrigh’? C’mon, let’s get ya sittin’ down. I’ll make ya some tea, I found a really nice blend while I was away. I think ya migh’ jus’ like it.”

                                                                   Tender hands at his arms, to see if they couldn’t steer him away to a couch to sit down and relax. “Ya feel like yer tired, papa. S’wha’ yer energy is tellin’ me, anyways. Stop workin’ so hard, I’m home now, y’can kick back and let yourself unwind fer a lil’ bit. I can handle doin’ stuff fer ya fer a while.”

           Thumbs brush over skin and Apath gives their papa another cheek kiss.

                         Blinking owlishly, they’re reaching up to touch at it, fingertips rubbing soft petals in vague confusion. What’d they do to earn a pretty coronet like this one? Ah, well, the Alpha won’t fuss none over it.

                  Oh, Apath hadn’t been home long...         If not for... well, their palm rested on their rounded stomach.

                                If they didn’t have another life to worry for, they would tear her to shreds themself. They’d learned quite a bit in their time away, after all.

I’ve already notified the Successor group of my decision.

However, I’ve come to the conclusion that it isn’t fair of me to force myself to remain active in a community that has proven to be toxic for my mental and emotional health, not while my IRL situation is ass backwards. The racism is too much. The people dicking with Apath nonstop despite my asking for it to stop is too much. 

I will pop on every so often whenever Apath is needed, however, my activity may very well be incredibly sparse from here on out.

Ship partners and otherwise who would like to maintain the relationships built over time with Apath can discuss it with me. Some sort of AU will need to be established, as I will not further inject myself into the community at this time.

“I feel…I feel sub-par to a lot of your partners. A lot of them have powers, or abilities, and are practical demigods in some cases. And then there’s me. The flower girl. And I feel jealous and insecure because of it. Because how can I measure up to people like that?“

                                                                                                            Kisses were then trailed all over her face, nuzzling at the shorter’s cheek with a hum before outright hoisting Ria up into their arms to hold her close.

                                                                             “I don’ think one is gonna cause any real damage. I jus’ need somethin’ ta wake me up a bi’ more. Stop.”

           Details had already slipped away, just as quickly as water would through cupped hands. But there was still yet enough that lingered to tell them going back to sleep was the worst thing they could do. The briefest snippets.

                              Lips pressed into a thin, annoyed line.                          And hands raked back through Apath’s hair.

“Fine. I’ll get m’self somethin’ else.”

                                                                                                “Jus’ leave me alone fer a while. Especially if yer gon’ come in here spoutin’ off advice I didn’ ask fer in th’firs’ place. Literally. I didn’ ask. At all. I love ya, bu’ fer th’love of everythang, leave me alone fer a lil’ while. I ain’t able ta pu’ up wi’ this righ’ now. Don’ even wan’ Mirai righ’ now.”

               “Jus’. Hush. No words, no bein’ in m’bubble. I need silence.”                                        “I need... silence.”

                            A dismissive wave of their hand, then.                       Apath didn’t mean their own harshness in return.

                                                         But to use any of his own against them after a rough start was not how he was going to ensure they didn’t do anything rash or make stupid choices. Gentle words were needed. Not... whatever that was.

“...I’m goin’ ta Duat fer a bit.”

                                                           A surge, a ripple, and Apath was gone.                                                   Off to a place of a private kind of solace.           Where the only ones who could bother them were those they wouldn’t mind.

                                       The realm of their god was far kinder to them than any. Apath would find themself a quiet place, a tucked away alcove, and they would rest for a time. Perhaps not through sleep, but in the isolation they needed.

                                                In Duat’s warmth.                          She was safe--safer than even Arceus’ Halls.                                                            Duat was safe.

                                           They’d woken in a mess of tangled sheets and cold sweat, some flavor of panic hanging heavily on their frame. But with that came nausea, stumbling and falling their way to their bathroom--half an hour had been spent sick, with Sir holding their hair back for them.

            By the time it’d passed, the nightmare had been forgotten.          Remnants of a fear they couldn’t place were already ebbing away.                And a glance at their phone told them it was too early to be awake.

                   “...caffeine ain’t good fer th’baby. Bu’ I really need an energy drink.”

                                   Good thing a gas station was within walking distance.

          Today, they could... go looking for furniture for their apartment. All Apath had fussed over thus far was ensuring they had a bed. Seemed appropriate to find other things, too.

                  Apath knows good and well they have an aversion to swearing outside of being worked up into a tiff. But this has become a matter of honor.

    Hands rested on porcelain, leaning on the sink counter as they stared into the mirror.

                                                “Daaaa--ngit. Heck, try again. Uh. Wha’ oth’a bad words are there? Uh--maybe... hm. Ffff--iddlesticks. Ssss--ludge.”

                               ANNOYED WHEEZE.

              “Say th’heckin’ words, ya big ol’ silly.”
