saw a take that the mixed timelines takes away from the suspense of yellowjackets because we know the girls with adult timelines live & I was so utterly filled with rage at such an incomprehensibly bad take it made me want to write a pretentious essay about the themes of this show & the horror of survival & this new episode is so heavily drilling in that I’m right. particularly the scene with natalie telling jackie’s remains that she’s lucky to be dead already followed by nat almost dying. the suspense in Yellowjackets was NEVER about who lives & who dies. the horror is about what the survivors DO to survive. the horror is surviving & what it takes & how you live with the things you do to survive like that’s so in your face as a theme I don’t know how it’s possible to miss it
