Make my wish come true, let everything fade to white.
Felicity Jones | Indie | Assassin
Only heroes embrace the dark. Only heroes die without fear. Am I a villian or a hero. The protagonist of this story or your biggest enemy. Come for me, before I come for you. Play this game of angels and demons with me, and we will dance in the fires of hell.
Death dreams, beautifully broken.

“Did you get that email I sent you last night?”
“I’m going to go ahead and assume you’re the one who sent me a video of a cat?”
faxrly:
“They must never know– that’s a secret you’ll have to take to your grave.” She said, cooing his laughter as their gazes locked to each other for a moment; her hand instinctively posing over the one he used to caress her face as they did so, in a soft caring gesture. She’s seen evil directly to the eye, she has seen cruelty in the most grotesque forms, but indeed there was hope on her eyes; hope that the world could be mended– sadly her hero complex was not enough to achieve that.
She could feel him stiffening at her words; was that too forward? Is not like it was the first time she has been to his apartment, yes she has been busy, but still– Maybe it was, after all she didn’t even called before stopping by; that was a bit rude. About to say they didn’t had to if he didn’t really wanted that “I mean if–”, he parted his lips in a short agreement and she smiled again; softening her features. Nodding in agreement she pressed both of her palms against the chair old cushion, looking up to him as he stood up.
“Tsk– It’s not like any other girl lingers around besides me, and I already know how much of a mess you can be, but ok. Go ahead and impress me.” she chuckled, then reached for another beer not really taking notice of his wary expression as she brought the bottle to her lips.
“Nothing wrong with wanting to clean up for the special lady,” Alexander places the bottle to his lips, draining the last of the bitter liquid with a content sigh. The empty bottle is left on the table before he disappears up the narrow staircase towards his apartment door.
It’s a relatively large space. Technically only two rooms, the bathroom, and then everything else. His bedroom doubles as an office and a living room, just off the open plan kitchen with it’s small table and two chairs covered in freshly washed clothes he’s yet to tidy away. But that’s not why he hurried up here. Alexander heads straight for the desk, wasting no time in hiding documents in the desk drawers, under other unrelated papers.
He’s sure if Sora ever decided to have a thorough search of his apartment, she’d discover every dark secret he’s been keeping.
Once satisfied, he shoves his hands in the pockets of his loose pants and wanders over to the top of the stairs, “Are you coming up or not, huh?”

❝You sure about that?❞ His hands are still up in the air regardless of the fact that the male dressed in all-black before him claims he’s not interested in any belongings he has. Perhaps he is being far more paranoid than he needs to be but with the recent increase of thievery in the area, one can never be too careful. It isn’t that he has anything even worthy of stealing, but a thief wouldn’t know that. ❝I mean really, man, if you want something just take it. I just want to go home.❞ Now that’s a lie. He figures if the male really is a thief and he manages to catch him in action, that’s enough evidence for Brandon to take legal action. That is, if he can take the male; but he’s sure he can.
“If I really wanted to mug you I wouldn’t be standing here discussing it with you, would I? You’d be on the floor, winded, and I’d be long gone. Criminals only monologue about their crimes in movies, you know.” Alexander straightens up, his body language growing a little more defensive as he folds his arms across his chest. “How do I know this isn’t a ruse to distract me while you size me up, get ready to mug me.” He’s pretty sure it isn’t, that it’s really just a misunderstanding. Still, that doesn’t mean he can’t play with him a little.

She nods in agreement, although she has a different opinion regarding how fragile they could be she agrees with the fascination part. “It’s like they are making them more disposable as new designs come out. Everything lasts less, from the battery-life to the sensory screen.” She looks at the girl’s plate, with food that looked like it was touched once. “Do you think she is gonna eat that?” Yoona asks, debating whether to take her plate or not.
“As soon as they release a new smartphone, it becomes obsolete as they start working on the next one. It’s insane. You’d think they’d be better off spending their time and energy on something more useful.” He almost laughs at himself, the words coming out of his mouth highly reminiscent of how his father used to speak about technology. “I doubt it,” he gives the food a glance, a little sour that he’s paying for something that will effectively land in the trash. “You can take it, don’t worry, might speed things along a little so I can get to the ‘I had a great time’ part and lie through my teeth.”
faxrly:
A helpless smile crossed her lips as consequence of his words while her eyes were nailed on the car that he was working on; a defeated gesture before she turned her gaze towards him. How can he know her so well? They have been– something for years now and she still wonders the same. “I guess I’m still naive like that–” she said with a chuckle muffled at the back of her throat as she sipped from her drink again.
She really treasured these moments, these silent moments were he could read her like an opened book; yet she was not bothered by it. He was the only one capable of seeing under her carapace, the only one able to see underneath the rough and strict Captain Kang– the only one who knew how much of a sensitive woman she was.
She sneaked her arm under his loosely lacing both limbs, though she could tell how uncomfortable those seats were as he tried to shift closer and be more cozy; which gave her a chance to evade his question for a moment, even when she would end up telling him by the end of the night– or right when they arrived upstairs, because he was persistent like that. With another bright smile she pulled away and tilted her head “Should we go upstairs?– I can cook us some noodles. I’m a bit hungry.”
“Naive- now that's a trait I wouldn’t assign to the famous Captain Kang, what would your boys back at the station think if they heard you calling yourself naive?” Alexander chuckles, using his index finger to tip her chin in order for their gazes to lock. Even after all the crime and the terrible things he knows she’s seen, there’s still that hopeful look in her eye he remembers so fondly from high school. Like she can right the world of all it’s wrongs - and it makes him wonder if she really can.
He taps his fingers on the beer bottle, gaze caught by a drop of condensation rolling down the glass. Upstairs. He shifts uncomfortably, and this time it’s not because of the chairs. Unannounced company - though Sora is by far his favourite kind of surprise - makes him edgy. The desk in the small living room is still littered with newspaper clippings of murders, mostly cold cases, and disposable cellphones. Suppose she wants to use the computer? “Sure...” Perhaps he’s being paranoid, but it’s a risk he isn’t willing to take.
“Let me go check on the state of the place first, haven’t had a lady around for quite some time, you know how a guy’s place gets.” he casually rises from his seat, stretching his arms, giving himself the opportunity to cop her reaction without her spotting his cautious glance.
even monsters have something they want to protect. and they’d kill to keep them safe.
91624:
The silence was driving her made. Maybe calling this stranger who claims to work as a detective was a horribly thought out idea. Suddenly, all these negative scenarios began to play out in her mind. It was times like these that she hated her imagination the most. What if this man was already tracking her call while she was on the line to get Joowon there to take her away, only to never return? Or worse… Rie was ready to hang up until she heard him finally speak up.
He wants to meet up again? Yet another sign given by the higher power that something can go wrong. Rie just couldn’t bring herself to trust him, she didn’t know what it was. Then again, it wasn’t entirely his fault either. She’s had a history of being betrayed by people she believed she could trust and were her friends. It was truly a slap in the face when these former friends of hers decided to turn their backs on her when she needed them the most. Could this risk be worth it? She thought to herself that it would be best to seek help and the man on the other end was all she had right now. If she goes to the police they’ll only scold her for not going to them right after the incident took place.
She scanned the cafe and noticed that there were actually more people around now. The idea of meeting in a public location soothed her enough to finally give him an answer. “Yes.” Rie cleared her throat as she straighten out her posture before continuing. “But I’m not meeting you alone like the first time. We’re meeting in a place with people around. I’m at the cafe that’s maybe a couple blocks down from where we met the first time. I’ll wait for you here.”
The black haired girl made sure to sound confident and a bit assertive with her answer. She didn’t want him to know that she was actually terrified and slightly nervous about this meeting.
“Understandable.” He nods, silently applauding the fact that she at least has some common sense. It’s far too rare these days, almost enough to make one lose faith in the human race. “Even though I don’t pose a threat, it’s nice to hear somebody with some gumption.” He comments quietly, raising out of his chair to stretch his limbs. “May I be bold enough to ask you to order a black coffee for me? I’ll only be five minutes.”
It takes four minutes and fifty-three seconds exactly. He counts as he walks, taking a small victory in his improving time estimation. The cafe is well lit, most of the tables occupied. A little like a thief planning a robbery, he takes his time looking around when he first steps in, noting the security cameras - two of them - one pointing towards the cash register and the other towards the corridor leading to what he assumes are the restrooms. He’s safe, for now. If anyone takes the time to trawl through security footage, he hopes they won’t find anything that’ll link him to the girl. But that’s a potential bridge he’ll cross when he gets to it.
He catches the black haired girl’s eye and smiles, arm raising for him to wave a little. Making it seem like they’re just two friends meeting for coffee is a lot easier than what this actually is. He makes his way over to the table and sits opposite her, shrugging off his coat with a small sigh. “Thanks again for agreeing to this.”
