No but seriously, this was very fun to write. Its an Imodna Rapunzel/Tangled AU that started as an assignment in one of my courses and ended up as this. I'm actually pretty proud of it!

After months of avoiding it, I finally read my first A/B/O fic.
Something has shifted in me. Iām obsessed. I donāt even know why I was avoiding it. I was so dumb. I see it now.
itās a weird feeling when all of your friends from high school graduate the year after you.
i feel so jealous. and i donāt like it. especially being someone who struggles to maintain friendships without regularly seeing them irl.
they got an extra year with each other. they have new jokes. theyāre all so close.
and here i am, sitting on the outside, waiting for them to notice me and remember that im here too.
i feel so childish and immature. iām a fucking adult i should be over this. i donāt know it just. makes me sad.
Me because I got to witness a major historic event but it was a Good One for once

Me: Whoās there?
Kid: Bunny.
Me: Bunny who?
Kid: Bunny has a wallet! But bunnies donāt use wallets, they hide eggs!! (followed by the loudest laughter youāve ever heard)

Conversation I had w/ the 5yo I babysit today:
Kid: My leg hurts :(
Me: Oh no! Did something happen?
Kid: I donāt know, my leg just hurts for no reason
Me: Did you run around at recess at school?
Kid: No, I tried to fly!
Me: . . .
Me: What do you mean?
Kid: I climbed 3 steps up a ladder and jumped off of it over and over again!
Me: [name], thats why your legs hurt.
Kid: Oh.
Kid: Iām going to keep trying tomorrow!

If anyone cares about context (although I think having no context is half the fun)
- The party is traveling to confront the cult where one of the party members (weāll call him A) grew up and escaped from.
- They are going to be captured at said cult, and prepared to be sacrifices for a ritual, led by Aās brother (who is evil), and his sister (who he thought was alive) is also one of the sacrifice.
- Unbeknownst to them, one of the other party membersā (weāll call her B) sister (who is like 15) was ALSO recently taken by the cult, and is being prepared as a sacrifice
- The party members & Bās sister will have a few moments to interact in the cultās prison before the actual ritual.
Thatās the context. The dilemma is this (and Iām probably being a bit dramatic about how āevilā this is):
Should the prisoners have had their hair cut/shaved by the cult?
One of my favorite (and heart wrenching) tropes in media is when a character is taken prisoner and their hair is shaved. It feels like such a simple, yet effective way to display an immediate physical consequence that doesnāt go away quickly, even if they survive said imprisonment
It would be extra sad, I think, seeing as the sister is young and that gives me extra ability to pull on the heartstrings of my friends š
Iām not sure though because I donāt want to go too far, thus the poll
