To clarify:

I’m not going on hiatus because of the new NSFW ban. I’m baffled by the decision, amused by the memes, and worried that it’s going to kill tumblr financially, with all the people jumping ship because if it, but my actual anger is pretty low. This is some stupid decision made by the devs, and I’m honestly expecting them to reverse it in the face of all the negative feedback they’re getting.

I’m taking a break because of real life and finals, this just seemed like a good time to do that.

She only slouched further when Nefeli got up, not for a second missing the hurt in her voice. Iskra had never learned the skill of just letting things go, much less apologizing when she messed up. Before Nefeli could leave, she leaned back again, twisting to face her more directly. “Well I don’t know what you like, Nefeli, but I would rather have be something to someone than be nothing, even if they don’t buy me a pony or – or drag me to the nearest chantry to get married. I know I don’t matter, all right? I’m not stupid. But it sure was was nice to pretend for a little while.”

“I don’t mean those parts!” Alright, this was going to be an argument. It was already an argument, but now it was just-- going to move to a higher tier. Alright. Fine.

“I mean the parts where she was petty and manipulative and expected you to do shite that wasn’t fair to ask you to do! Those parts! Those parts were bad. Those parts make me angry to hear about. You deserve better than that, and it-- it makes me angry that she let you believe you didn’t!”

my favorite part of Iskra/Nefeli is the fact that while they caught on to the fact that there’s Feelings it still takes them forever to actually act of them because they’re both emotionally constipated idiots who don’t know how to admit their feelings and keep hoping the other will do it first.

“She treated me fine.” Better than most of the people there anyway. Iskra had never been given the chance to raise her standards above more than the most basic decency, and it stuck even now. “You think I need someone who’s gonna sweep me off my feet and carry me into the sunset?” Iskra sneered. “I mattered to her. Can you say the same for anyone else in your life?” She stopped – anger fading as she realized what she’d said, and looked away, crossing her arms tightly. “Anyone before the Inquisition, anyway. You’re important now.” Important to me.

There are many times that Nefeli wishes she had any poker face to speak of. Now, with the hurt plain on her face, was one of those times.

“No.” Nefeli murmured. Oh, damn, the hurt’s obvious in her voice too. “Maybe I can’t say as much. I just know that if I saw someone, right now, treating you like you said she treated you, I’d probably try and punch them.”

Lips twisting in a scowl, Nefeli moved from her seat. “Forget it, I shouldn’t have said anything.” Good job, Nefeli, you insulted her girlfriend and now you look like an idiot. Bravo.
