Rick had been walking. He was always walking. He heard his name being called from a voice being shouted from behind him. He instantly turned around. Shane Walsh. Rick’s stomach dropped down to his feet. He had killed him. Rick had nightmares for months remembering how the blade sliced into his childhood best friend. Before Rick tried to take a stand and make them both walk away alive but Shane wouldn’t let him do that. Rick would be damned if another man would take his wife, his children. Rick’s brain processed this all within seconds. The man, no, Shane Walsh was aggressively approaching him. ❝Why couldn’t you stay DEAD YOU MOTHERFUCKER ?!❞ Rick spoke under his breath until the last few words that were yelled so loud his voice broke. His legs pushed him into a sprint, his feet thudding against the pavement. His hand went to the holster on his hip, his thumb flipping the snap button before pulling out his gun. Rick was a survivor now. ❝What the hell are you doin’ here, Walsh? Huh? You plannin’ on murderering me again? You Bastard. You’ve got ten seconds to turn and leave me an’ my family alone. You ain’t got no place here.❞

Shane has never handled his emotions healthily, his temper and fight-or-flight response was what led to his ultimate demise, and today was no different - if anything, he was angrier. He could feel his already small patience wearing ( T H I N. ) as he looked onto Rick. Shane knew that this could only go one way - the officer wasn’t ready for a shoot-out, but he was always prepared for something: walkers, hostiles, really anyone who posed a THREAT to him - Walsh slyly patted his pocket, feeling the thick handle of his combat knife, just making sure it was still there. His cold eyes never left Rick, he didn’t even flinch when the man began to yell at him. He hadn’t expected any other response. Shane made sure to carefully observe Rick’s movements, ( That had been his mistake when he died - not paying attention. ) although that got harder to do once he had broken into a run. When the man revealed his gun, Shane went rigid, stopping in his tracks for a moment. It was almost a shock to see Rick pointing a gun at him ( almost ), but he pushed on, even as his killer got closer and closer, he continued to stomp towards him, too - he was antsy to close the distance between them. ❝Whatcha’ gon’ do if I don’t leave, Rick? KILL me? Shoot me? Or are you gon’ stash the gun and get a knife? You gonna STAB ME?❞ Shane took a large step forward, and brought an arm back - almost as if he was getting into a fighting stance, he wanted to PROVOKE him. He wanted him to throw the first punch. ❝You’ve already done it once - go ahead, do it AGAIN. Kill ME again, you fucker. One way or ‘nother, I’ll come BACK.❞
