Temporal Mishaps

Hey there, rewind-to-get-it-right here. Decided to start fresh here though everything from my past blog will be basically moved over here. Sorry for any inconveniences in advance.

Date: 10/20/20

Location: Yuzhny Island, Russia.

Time: 0:00

Hunter and Albert had been called once again to take on another task, to track down a strange anomalous source of dark energy. The Russian Government had struck a contract with The Organization and hunter's team was selected for the mission. Huntersat watching througg a thermal scope for anyting out of the ordinary. He thought to himself how long the two of them would be stuck out here in the middle of nowhere. He occasionally checked a gieger counter for background radiation due to the proximity of their position to the site of the Tsar bomba test. The background radiation was higher then it was a couple days ago.

"Al.....AL.."

He kicked alberts foot lightly.

"Get up, we need to leave. The radiation levels aren't getting into dangerous levels and we need to find a better place to hold up."

He then pulled out a map.

"About twelve miles from here there is an old research base the soviets used to test chemical agents, the facility's been cleaned out but i think it'll serve our purpose."

Albert woke up, a little startled from the kick to his foot, he didn’t mean to fall asleep but he couldn’t help it this time. He wasn’t use to lots of travel on foot, or at least for as long. He shook his head to wake up as he listened to what Hunter had said, stifling a yawn in the process.

“Twelve miles?” He said after rubbing his eyes. “Well I suppose that will do, let’s get moving then.” He picked up his satchel and stood up.

She was right, this seemed like just another day for them, however it did have a sense of urgency some of their missions didn’t seem to have. The question of why such a large shipment was stolen kept creeping in his mind, even trying to rationalize it. Alucard nodded to Revy and started searching, only wondering a bit further from Revy. He didn’t think that the entrance would be easy to find, but kept a good look out for anything that seemed to be a telltale sign. After a little more searching, he thought he might have found a way and tried it out.

She meanwhile was on high alert. Revy didn’t want this mission to take too long, the twins were on the plane. Which meant Sammy and Trooper were back home worrying, which would drive the rest of the house crazy. After searching some she found something that might be entrance, could also be a trap. Well nothing ventured nothing gained. She moved in cautiously.

Alucard came upon the scene and quickly moved to help to kill off the ghouls, though he was still a distance from Revy. However the noise seemed to be attracting more ghouls towards them, which would sooner overrun the two of them if they did not find better ground to defend themselves. “Revy, I’ll cover you. Start running we can’t let them overrun us!”

“I hate it when yer right!” she looked around then climbed up and started shooting again. “Why did we take this mission again?” she asked and shook her head some. “Fucking… I did not expect there to be so many…” she seethed.

“You really think the Vatican could have handled this, let alone any other organization.” He said following behind her, still firing away. “Look we just need to get this done fast. We can’t risk the twins being found and if we retreat the enemy will only grow their forces and move their plans faster.” He popped more ghouls in the head as he spoke to her. “Keep going, we need to get to that ship.”

“Yeah! Yer right.” she groaned and popped a few as they kept moving. “Doesn’t change the fact that it sucks.” snickers some. Darts down a hallway to the side. “Over here, which way?” she looked left then right.

“Head to the left, I’ll catch up soon.” He called out, covering her by shooting some ghouls but taking the bullets from some that wear holding guns of their own. While the gunfire didn’t really hurt Alucard, it was annoying to still be jerked around from the hits.

Once inside, Alucard kept to the shadows and started moving around to see what he could discover. Getting as much information if any that would be helpful to getting this job done faster so they could get the twin home safe. He had hoped Revy found her own way in and almost reached out to her with his psychic call, but remembered she didn’t handle it well and it could give her position away. Without a way for sure telling if she was near or not, he kept moving in the shadows.

Unfortunately she was right. It was an entrance sure but… once she was in she found herself surrounded. “Well fuck alright then.” she looked around her and grinned that devilish way when she was about to unload on some fools. Both guns drawn at either side of her and started shooting.

“Ya know… it’s funny… but I’m really claustrophobic when it comes to other people!” she laughed and kept shooting. “Yer all gonna taste silver!”

Alucard heard the familiar sound of Revy’s weapons firing nearby. “Fuck!” He exclaimed and made his presence known, quickly drawing his guns and began shooting anything or anyone in his way. “Knew I should have stuck by her.” He thought to himself as he made his way towards her gunfire.

She grinned and put the cutlass twins away then drew her Deagals and started firing. “One to the head, another to the brain and a third to the eyes!” she chuckled and dodged a fourth only to shoot him in the back of the head. “Damn ghouls!” she hissed. “Man I don’t have time for this…” she pulled a grenade and tossed it, it flashed with bright light and rained down silver shrapnel.

“Geeze… only got two more of those…” she muttered as a few more came from behind and she turned, firing again. “DAMMIT!”

“It’s alright,” He wrapped his arms around her, not caring about getting dirty from the blood on her. “These feelings are normal to have, I’m guessing you hadn’t had a chance to experience them before though, is that right?”

Her body was littered with scars that seemed to only enhance the natural curves and the heavy muscle, combing into something divine. Green eyes slipped shut and she let out another purr of agreement, practically meltin onto the spring under his gaze. “Mmm…you have no idea how good this feels. Never been in a hot spring before.”

“Do they not have places you can R&R in heaven? Geez, you’d figure they would have something so relaxing that this spring couldn’t even compare.” He kept looking at her, her scars, muscles, everything catching his eye. He was definitely glad he managed to get her on his side, now more than just for her power. Still it was best to try not to think like this at the current moment. He looked away and up at the ceiling. “Some great creator he is.” His voice carried a sting to it, reminding himself of the grudge he carried.

“He is not a great creator at all but like an adult child who breaks his toys and throws away defect ones. And no, not where I could get to.” She growled softly, a bite to her words as she forcibly stayed in place.

Anderson glared at the wall, his anger getting the best of him. A massive crack in the stone wall that he stared at appeared as if a great impact has struck it. “I know too well that is what he does. To think there are those that still worship him, his creations are so beautiful but he locks them away or punishes them for their fault that he created or condemning someone who only made a single mistake in their faith!…” Anderson then stood, his scared and muscled body displayed before Azrael. “Seem the steam is getting to me,” he said, clearly an excuse. He stepped out of the spring and headed to dry off.

Azrael gaped after him before slowly sinking up to her mouth in the hot spring, green eyes squeezed shut. Foolish, stupid, unthinking little angel. Had to ruin it again and make him angry all over again. That and the curl of guilt weighing heavy in her belly had her sighing into the hot water, not wanting to get out but knowing she needed to so she could help calm him down.

She heaved herself up out of the water and shook off bodily, snapping her wings open a few times ro shake the water loose before slipping on her clothes and going in search of Anderson hesitantly. She needed to learn his triggers and what made him angry so she could avoid them.

Anderson had gone to his study, leaving a black book with a worn binding on the table. He sat in his chair, holding his glasses in one hand while rubbing the bridge of his nose with the other. While he didn’t mean to lose his temper, remembering how mistreated Azrael was and what caused him to go down this path just made him even more furious at the being God. “I need to remain focused.” He said to himself, leaning back in his chair.

She watched him leave in a flurry of pages. What a useful way to travel! She should mention it to the Support team back at the Temple.

Her brief encounter with Father Anderson was put in her report, catching the attention of the old Grand Master, giving him an idea. There was a meeting and most agreed. An exchange with Iscariot would be useful. After all their goals were very much alike.

A day was chosen for the meeting with Iscariot’s Chief. The Grand Master walked towards the office, followed closely by the woman who had run into the priest.

“Grand Master, I know it has been decided already but… are you sure this is a good idea? We’ve worked by ourselves just fine.”

“Isolation is counter productive, child. Besides, there is much we can learn from Iscariot.”

She sighed and waited as the elder knocked on the door of Maxwell’s office.

An aid answered the door upon hearing it being knocked on. Maxwell having full view of who was at the door. “Grand Master,” he greeted in a welcoming voice, standing from his desk. “Welcome to the humble abode of the Iscariot Organization. I was pleased to hear that you agreed to this meeting. After all it would be in our greater interests to rid this world of heathens and forsaken creatures.” He approached the two as he spoke.

The Grand Master nodded and smiled. Such a young and energetic Chief they had.

“Thank you. It is good to see we have the same objective” he offered a hand for Maxwell to shake “this is Christian Payens, she will be attending the meeting as well.”

She nodded at the Chief then looked for a chair for the old man to sit. Age could be unforgiven.

“Tell me, Chief Maxwell, how have your superiors reacted? Unfortunately not everyone is thrilled with the idea of working with us. The stigma has lasted even after all these centuries.”

“I see, that is fine, I do have another joining us as well, however his duties seemed to have made him late. Please come and sit.” He directed the two to a table with tea and coffee ready to serve. “As for my superiors, well you can imagine the surprise they had on their faces when I suggested this idea to them. However after informing them of benefits of working together, they all came around to agreeing to see what will come of this alliance.”

The door to the office opened again and heavy footsteps heard entering. Maxwell looked to the door and smile. “Ah, Anderson you made it.” He said waving for him to join the table. Anderson made his way towards the table to greet the guest but look in surprise to see the Templar from before.

“What?!” He rushed over to the machine to check what could be going wrong this time.

EJ’s body is paler than it should be because it seemed like the curse has gotten worse. Blood is seeping out of wounds that were there ten minutes prior.

Albert only grew angrier, it seemed like nothing was going to work at this point. “DAMN IT!” He punched the machine and went back to the stone table and grabbed the knife. He got blood bags and set them up to help keep her alive. Then stabbing through his other hand out of desperation, both of his hands now bearing the symbols that only grew again letting his payment flow onto her wounds along with doses of his own magic.

Upon doing this EJ quickly stablizes, and the blood sacrifice of the nurses dripping onto all the wounds causes them to stop bleeding, some of the smaller ones even close off not leaving a scar.

Albert noticed the wounds closing up and finally felt some relief, he looked back and the payment took not only the blood but the bodies of the two nurses. Once EJ was healed, he looked at his own hands and was about to try to heal them himself, when the wounds suddenly closed up on their own. “It worked…” He felt a bit woozy but kept himself upright. He turned off the anesthetic and did a final check on her vitals before crashing on a nearby chair.

“Albert?” EJ questions when she starts waking up, about an hour and a half later, she’s still really out of it though.

He raises his head from hearing his name called. “EJ, you’re awake.” He stands and almost stumbles, but manages to get to her. “How are you feeling? Anything feel off?”

“I’m high on pain killers so i don’t know.” She says with a giggle. “Did the curse go away?”

He gestured her to look at her body that was covered by a white sheet. “You tell me, you haven’t bleed since the operation.”

She shifted and turned a bit to hug him back gently, burying her face in his neck. “No I haven’t ever felt this. Maotly felt hunger and dread. Joy at being freed. But never jealousy.”

“Being free and new experiences can be confusing and jarring at times. Please don’t wander off on me like that if something new is happening with you.” He rubbed her back and rested his head on her. “Wouldn’t want you to do something foolish or anything like that.”

Azrael nodded against him quietly, slowly relaxing at his words and touch, pressing as close to him as she could get for the time being. She had many things to learn and plenty of time to do it in. “I’ll try not to wander off again. Didn’t wanna make a mess though.”

“Just stay by my side then, hold my hand, tug my sleeve, do something to let me know.” He pulled away from her to look her in the eyes and smiled. “Now then, are you feeling better or would you like to let off more steam?” He asked, looking around and the mess she created.

She sheepishishly nodded, gaze dropping to the ground at the mess she had made, absentmindedly crunchin away an arm nearby. “Y-yeah, I’m-I’m good. I’ll try and do better next time and not go off like this again.”

“Good, now then I have to prepare to travel soon, after all I need to find more recruits.” He flashed a smile at her and stood up. “If you’d like, you can come with me, perhaps your presence will draw more followers.”

She perked up a little, the feral animal inside making istelf known in the odd rumble of delight she made. “Yes please! That means I can do so many things too!”

“Fantastic, though you might want to get cleaned up first. First impressions always matter.” He chuckled and gestured to his own blood stained robes.

She sighed and nodded. “I need to clean and groom my wings too. I can’t go too long without preening or I won’t be able to fly.”

“That simply won’t do, follow me then. I believe you will like the bath house.” He heads out of the room and starts showing her to the bath house. Heading to the back of the mountain their base was set in, there was an open area with a few walls separating the natural springs. “Here we are, feel free to use this whenever you need to. Though I can’t guarantee there won’t be anyone in the communal bathing area, but there is my personal one if you require more privacy.”

Azrael nodded slowly. “I will seek your bath out when its needed for more intimate problems to take care of. I'l probably spend my bathing time in the public area instead.” She hummed softly in explanation.

“As you wish.” He shrugged and headed to his own bathing area. “Be aware, it’s mixed bathing.” He shut the door behind him and proceeded to clean himself after disrobing. He took his time to relax a little, after all he had to deal with an angel and a group of hero’s. So he soaked in the calming warmth of the bath. “By Shavilkha, what an eventful few days it’s been.” He said to himself, leaning back closing his eyes.

Azrael spent a few minutes soaking in the main tub before slinking away into Anderson’s private one, nuzzling the back of his neck gently to let him know she was there. She slipped into the tub after a moment with a quiet delighted purr. “That is much better.”

He sat up and smiled when he felt her nuzzle him. His eyes now open, he looked over to her as she slipped into the spring, seeing her full figure and smiled. “You like it? I prefer the more natural feel of this spring. Does wonders for aches and stress.”

She kept her long sword by her side. This man had quite the intimidating aura. She wondered how he’d react to the fact she was a Templar. Other orders didn’t exactly like them.

“…Knight Templars. I was sent to exterminate a nest of vampires” she nodded towards the pile of ash “that one was the last of the bunch” the woman slid her sword into the scabbard “I should invite you for a warm cup of tea as a thank you, if you have the time, that is.”

“The Knight Templars huh? You lot have been very quiet for so long and now you join the battle against the damned infesting the earth. How interesting, as for that cup of tea, that sounds rather nice about now.” 

The sound of a phone ringing sounds in his pocket. He answers it quickly, though words can’t be made out from where she stands, it’s obvious that the person on the other line is annoyed. “Understood.” He hangs up the cell phone and gives his attention back to her.

“I’m sorry to say that cup of tea will have to wait,” he reaches in his coat and pulls out a book of scripture. “I feel we shall meet again, Templar, until then farewell.” The pages come out of their bindings and swirl around him, suddenly he vanishes from where he stood.

She watched him leave in a flurry of pages. What a useful way to travel! She should mention it to the Support team back at the Temple.

Her brief encounter with Father Anderson was put in her report, catching the attention of the old Grand Master, giving him an idea. There was a meeting and most agreed. An exchange with Iscariot would be useful. After all their goals were very much alike.

A day was chosen for the meeting with Iscariot’s Chief. The Grand Master walked towards the office, followed closely by the woman who had run into the priest.

“Grand Master, I know it has been decided already but… are you sure this is a good idea? We’ve worked by ourselves just fine.”

“Isolation is counter productive, child. Besides, there is much we can learn from Iscariot.”

She sighed and waited as the elder knocked on the door of Maxwell’s office.

An aid answered the door upon hearing it being knocked on. Maxwell having full view of who was at the door. “Grand Master,” he greeted in a welcoming voice, standing from his desk. “Welcome to the humble abode of the Iscariot Organization. I was pleased to hear that you agreed to this meeting. After all it would be in our greater interests to rid this world of heathens and forsaken creatures.” He approached the two as he spoke.

“It’s alright,” He wrapped his arms around her, not caring about getting dirty from the blood on her. “These feelings are normal to have, I’m guessing you hadn’t had a chance to experience them before though, is that right?”

She shifted and turned a bit to hug him back gently, burying her face in his neck. “No I haven’t ever felt this. Maotly felt hunger and dread. Joy at being freed. But never jealousy.”

“Being free and new experiences can be confusing and jarring at times. Please don’t wander off on me like that if something new is happening with you.” He rubbed her back and rested his head on her. “Wouldn’t want you to do something foolish or anything like that.”

Azrael nodded against him quietly, slowly relaxing at his words and touch, pressing as close to him as she could get for the time being. She had many things to learn and plenty of time to do it in. “I’ll try not to wander off again. Didn’t wanna make a mess though.”

“Just stay by my side then, hold my hand, tug my sleeve, do something to let me know.” He pulled away from her to look her in the eyes and smiled. “Now then, are you feeling better or would you like to let off more steam?” He asked, looking around and the mess she created.

She sheepishishly nodded, gaze dropping to the ground at the mess she had made, absentmindedly crunchin away an arm nearby. “Y-yeah, I’m-I’m good. I’ll try and do better next time and not go off like this again.”

“Good, now then I have to prepare to travel soon, after all I need to find more recruits.” He flashed a smile at her and stood up. “If you’d like, you can come with me, perhaps your presence will draw more followers.”

She perked up a little, the feral animal inside making istelf known in the odd rumble of delight she made. “Yes please! That means I can do so many things too!”

“Fantastic, though you might want to get cleaned up first. First impressions always matter.” He chuckled and gestured to his own blood stained robes.

She sighed and nodded. “I need to clean and groom my wings too. I can’t go too long without preening or I won’t be able to fly.”

“That simply won’t do, follow me then. I believe you will like the bath house.” He heads out of the room and starts showing her to the bath house. Heading to the back of the mountain their base was set in, there was an open area with a few walls separating the natural springs. “Here we are, feel free to use this whenever you need to. Though I can’t guarantee there won’t be anyone in the communal bathing area, but there is my personal one if you require more privacy.”

Azrael nodded slowly. “I will seek your bath out when its needed for more intimate problems to take care of. I'l probably spend my bathing time in the public area instead.” She hummed softly in explanation.

“As you wish.” He shrugged and headed to his own bathing area. “Be aware, it’s mixed bathing.” He shut the door behind him and proceeded to clean himself after disrobing. He took his time to relax a little, after all he had to deal with an angel and a group of hero’s. So he soaked in the calming warmth of the bath. “By Shavilkha, what an eventful few days it’s been.” He said to himself, leaning back closing his eyes.
