Once again I need an au where Chuck and Mako time travel back to some weeks before Knifehead, first of all because personally meeting the young Raleigh and Yancy would alter Chuck and Mako forever, but also 'cause the Beckets would provide entertainment for days when it comes to being jealous while also suffering out of how much they love each other.
I'm talking about how Yancy stole Raleigh's girl in the past, so it's canon that (a) Raleigh has game yet he finds it hard to form genuine connections, (b) Yancy is sort of the coolest Becket around and (c) Raleigh is every bit the little brother who wants to be picked for who he is, instead of people just picking Yancy over him.
Mako and Chuck convince everyone they come from the future and then tell the truth about what will happen with Knifehead.
Raleigh (in classic Raleigh fashion) starts suffering the actions he hasn't yet taken, inwardly fearing that he'll lose the last member of his family. Yancy knows him, so he's worried about Raleigh blaming himself and worried about abandoning Raleigh. They're hellbent over avoiding making the same mistakes. They're angry at themselves, angry at PPDC, kinda angry at each other, which only fuels them to get stronger.
Mako is Raleigh's co-pilot in the future. I'm not saying Raleigh won't let Mako explore the fact she is also drift compatible with Yancy, but that's one connection that Raleigh would surely not give up. He hears Mako tell the story of how they fought in the Double Event and Operation Pitfall together and a part of him wants to keep that for himself. Stupid, selfish, unmature part of him that he can even hate, but Raleigh is still young and even if he doesn't admit it he's scared of losing Yancy and being alone, he is. He's scared of the future.
Yancy is jealous, alright. Another dumbass who won't admit it. He finds Mako super cool and he wants to get to really know her, except he lacks the advantage of having a past (future?) with her. Mako is all "me and Raleigh" this and "me and Raleigh" that. Even when they include her, there's a sort of bubble around them. He's both jealous of Raleigh and of Mako, because he doesn't want to think about how in some universe he lost his brother while Mako got to see him turn older.
They're like kindergarten kids struggling to get the attention of a classmate.
With Chuck the whole point is that the Beckets playfully fight over who is Chuck's favorite brother or who's his actual hero, stuff like that. It's all fun and games until Raleigh starts actually falling in love with Chuck. It was painfully obvious from the beginning that Chuck had the biggest crush on Rals, but with the girlfriend thing in their past...
Raleigh gets a bit sensitive about Chuck actually preferring Yancy (he doesn't, but Rals is insecure and young and in love). Yancy is sort of oblivious to Chuck attraction towards Raleighā he makes jokes about it but somehow he always thought Chuck was mad because it was embarrassing, not because it was true.
What you get is a mess of misunderstandings with the Becket brothers and two time travelers in the center of the storm.
