some Herons that were supposed to be for FE Siblings Week but I never finished them 😢 I might get some motivation to continue if I post them, so here they are
was thinking about reyson (my beloved) again, and then an epiphany hit me.
alfred & reyson are very similar, character concept wise.
while their personalities are quite different, they are similar in a few things... [spoilers ahead]
homeland's association with 'green' nature. IDK really how to word it, but how firene is full of lush fields and such, and herons resided in serenes forest.
both homelands were associated with peace, and would eventually go aflame.

desire to overcome their physical nature. this one was the key thing that made me think about their similarities. reyson's 'issue' comes from his own physicality/biology of being a heron laguz. heron laguz are pretty fragile. reyson simply punching oliver that didn't give serious damage to the latter, resulted in reyson fracturing the bones in his hand. even bad vibes can make him sick...
alfred on the other hand is held back by his illness that he's had ever since he was a child.
both characters wish to overcome this, and both have a similar 'ideal' they desire to achieve...muscles. alfred is allllll about muscles and training. most of his supports are about this fact. reyson is a bit more lowkey about it, but it's clear he thinks of tibarn as his ideal. "I wanted so much to be like Tibarn. Big body, strong wings…" (from feh, but i know the 'big body strong wings' is a thing from the actual duology somewhere, i just can't remember where). reyson even tries eating like tibarn, which almost gets him killed.
both reyson & alfred cannot achieve their desired state because of their 'physical nature', but they do try.
related to the last point kinda, but both are noted to act atypical of their expected decorum (side note i really like the word decorum idk why). reyson is noted to not act typical of herons. wanting revenge & violence at first at those who burned his home down, acting more aggressive. it makes sense when you consider who he lived with after the serenes massacre... it's also noted how rafiel acts like what's expected of herons, which is contrasted by how reyson acts...well not.
for alfred, he is described as 'a barbarian in prince's clothing' by céline. his diamant c support also had diamant doing prince™ things, and alfred's all like "what's your fav muscle 😁."
their designs are also very (very) pretty & on the more feminine side, but their ideals lay more 'typically masculine'. reyson has an androgynous appearance, while alfred has flower motifs + frills and such. these contrasts with reyson's more 'fiery' & 'aggressive' personality, and alfred's thing with muscles (both things are typically associated with masculinity.)
and uhhh yeah. mini analysis over! i've always loved reyson, and alfred just got better the more i got to know him. like i said, they do differ in personality in a lot of ways, but it's cool how two characters with similar setups can be so distinctive.
Welp here's to hoping that Reyson gets noticed this year. Whether that be a refine, resplendent, or an alt just please remember my boy deserves something.

Isadora spent most if not all of her life in the service of her Queen. From fighting on the battlefield, to faithfully protecting her people, to guarding her Queen against all foes. She has done it all, that was what she was trained to do. Trained she was, from the moment she could fly, Isadora was trained to use the sword. A feat that she was indeed good at, and from there she was rigorously trained in the arts of battle from her parents and so forth. She trained all of her life to get to where she is now, the position that was bestowed to her by the Queen herself and what was rightfully hers since birth. A position that her mother before her held during the reign of the former Queen, a title upheld by the women in her life one that she has proudly inherited, the commander of the Royal Guard to the fairy queen of Pherae.
She has held her title- her position well. All of the training she has endured has served her tremendously. She as served Pherae perfectly and upheld her code of honor like no other. Well, she wishes she could say that last part, but in all reality, she has unbeknownst to her fellow guards, has broken the most important of her code, "not to fall in love with royalty". It was forbidden really, a rule made by those in the royal court to keep both guards and royalty in line. They thought it would be too messy to clean up should issues arise in the relationships, which to Isadora that was beyond reasonable. The royal court just didn't want the royal family to take advantage of their soldier's faith and loyalty and vice versa, not that that would happen, Pherae's rulers both in the past and present were nothing but kind and gentle people, and there had been no issues in the royal guard to warrant such worries. That did not matter in the slightest rules are rules and are not to be broken, but broken they were.
Isadora couldn't help herself. She couldn't for the centuries that she has been alive stop who she fell in love with. She tried but it just didn't work. The longer she stayed in the service of Queen Eleanora the stronger her feelings got. It was like what her grandmother used to say to her, "The heart wants what the heart wants, and you'd be wise to not try to stop it. For your rationality will not win." Her grandmother's words never rang truer until now, so she did what anyone in her position would do, she allowed her heart to love from a distance and she continued on with her sworn duties. It didn't last long, for her Queen wouldn't allow it. The stolen glances and lingering touches Lady Eleanora sent her way were proof enough that her feelings were mutual.
The couple soon after confirming their feelings for one another, spent many of nights under the moon's watchful gaze held in each other's embrace. Isadora couldn't help but let her heart fill unimaginable happiness as every day of the secret relationship brought something new. Every secret meeting was met with lips locked in a passionate embrace, every touch felt like fire, and caress felt like a cloud was holding on to her. She was happy and in love. She knew that her lover felt the same way. They both knew it was wrong sneaking behind the other's back like one who would steal would, but they just couldn't help it. Noone would understand them or their feelings. Not the council, not her fellow guardsmen, and definitely not her family.
Every single one of them would look down upon her in disappointment and shame. She knows or a fact that if the royal court were to find out they'd be furious. Isadora knows that they would blame her and make it out to be her fault. A lowly guard defiled their innocent queen and manipulated her into a relationship. The worst part of it all is that she knows that deep down everyone would believe their words. How could they not, what the court says is true, and none has the gall to prove them otherwise. It's just how it is, with Queen Eleanora being unmarried the royal court pretty much runs the kingdom.
"My love what are you thinking about?"
A soft melodic voice brought Isadora out of her thoughts. Blue eyes met with concerned pair of purple eyes. In all her ethereal beauty Eleanora, was staring back at Isadora. Her hair the prettiest shade of purple, caressed her pillow made of silk like waves down her back. It almost looked as though her hair was like the waterfall itself. "That's right." She thought to herself, "I'm with my love I shouldn't be thinking about such things."
"Nothing my beloved!" she answered her as her eyes roved over the delicate features of her lover. She watched has the soft concerned face of Eleanora, changed into a thoughtful expression.
"It doesn't seem like nothing. Your presence seems to be elsewhere at the moment, and that's not like you at all."
Isadora let out a sigh of defeat. Leave to her lady to be ever so observative one. She expected nothing else for her queen. Eleanora was not only beauty, but she was strong willed woman. She was thoughtful and very loving to her people and those who served her, and not to mention her warmth and kindness. These were all characteristics are what made Isadora admire her so much, and they are also what made her fall in love with the fairy queen.
She paused for a moment to gather her thoughts, before she finally told her lover what was wrong. "It's just...I was thinking about our relationship and what would happen if the royal court were to find out. I guess I'm just worried is all."
Eleanora let out a hum in thought, as she tucked a strand of Isadora's blue hair, behind a pointed ear. " It's going to be all right my love!", she started with a smile on her face. "They're not going to find out and if they do then so be it. I'm the queen and I should be able to love whoever it is I please to, and I chose you. If things come to be that they find out then I will request for your hand in marriage, I will fight tooth and nail for our love. I won't let anyone come between us. Even if that means you having to give up your position for a better one, would you?" she said all of this with an uncharacteristic serious look on her face. So, she knew how serious her love was.
"Yes of course I would!" She exclaimed "I would a thousand times over, all you have to do is ask."
"Perfect my love! Then you have nothing to worry about. I take care of everything, nothing bad is going to happen you'll see." She said as their lips met. A kiss to seal a promise, but this promise was to be broken. Like some fairy tales, some do not have happy endings. This one was one of them. Sometime after their sealed promise, the council found out about their affair. They, like Isadora already knew, were not happy. Try as she might Lady Eleanora's pleas for her love were heard on deaf ears. The council saw it fit to marry her Queen off to Elbert who was a noble to a well-off family. She would then proceed bare a child, who would become the heir to Pherae. Elbert would be crowned king and that would be the end of it, or so she thought.
Isadora would soon find out that her fate was just as bad. She was to be banished from the Kingdom of Pherae, and to never return again. Not only was she losing the love of her life, but she was also losing her family, her friends, and her comrades. Isadora knew being banished, she wouldn't last very long. Fairies never do, being banished usually means death. She would die, the last of her light would be drained, for she would no longer be sustained by the magic from her home, she'll turn to dust and fade away. No one would remember her, not even her lover.
Description: You knew the Heron’s couldn’t eat meat but you didn’t think Reyson would be dumb enough to try… Then again, this was Reyson we were talking about. It’s then that you remember imitation meat is a thing back on your world and well, if it was for him it was worth the effort.

You stood before the stove, pushing around some chicken and veggies on the skillet before you. “So Reyson has lived with you and the Hawks for a while now?” You turn towards Tibarn as you speak, looking up at his tall form in interest.
“Yeah, he has.” Tibarn gave a soft smile, a sight different from the rough look he usually wore. “For a while, he got the idea he could live like we do. It didn’t quite work out for him, though…” Tibarn looked as if he were holding back a laugh as he spoke again. “As a Heron, he can’t eat meat like we Hawks do.” He shook his head and let out a sigh. “He got so sick the last time he tried.”
“He tried more than once?” You frowned into the pan, looking again to Tibarn and waiting for him to continue his story.
“You know Reyson, he’s far too stubborn to give up on anything once.” Tibarn laughed loudly once more, leaving you to sigh and continue cooking.

December & January threw me enough curveballs for a whole baseball game, and I went a bit too much on trying to make the Blotted Ink Pen to work, but somehow I got it working and managed to finally finish it.

I really love Fire emblem's pretty men with blond long hair and a support role (yeah this is very precise but LOOK HOW MUCH THEY ARE) and I just realize the link between Rafiel and Elffin about the fact they both loose one of their capacities due to trauma (happy...) So I made this drawing and try a effect like a drawing on a wall, hope you will like it 😊

Summary: Christmas Envoy Knoll gives his gift to his favorite summoner.

Today was absolutely freezing, probably one of the coldest that Askr has had since the winter season started. The sky was covered inch by inch with clouds colored gray and the chilly air was enough to make anyone want to stay inside. Not everyone did though- with it being Christmas and all. Most if not all of the heroes were currently out in about enjoying the holiday festivities. It was quite a sight to behold. A sight that was indeed filled with nothing but joyous splendor.
Knoll watched as heroes from all ages and walks of life went about their day-interacting with one another as if they've been friends their whole life. It was beautiful really. So beautiful that it filled him with a warmth that not even the frigid air could sap through. With a smile on his face he continued on his way, passing by a few of the heroes playing in the snow. Well more like pelting each other with snowballs.
To him it appeared to be a friendly competition, but he soon came to the sudden realization that maybe it was a one-sided friendly game. Having come to a stop, Knoll let his eyes wander across the snow covered battle field. On his left he could see Prince Innes and his sister with a few other heroes on one team, and on his right he could make out Prince Ephraim and Princess Eirika and to his surprise Prince Lyon as the other team.
“I wonder how they got Prince Lyon to join?” He thought to himself as he continued to observe the snowball fight. Ephraim and the others seemed like they were all having a good time. Full of smiles and boisterous laughter. Even his prince was having a good time. Innes's team seemed like they to were having a good time to. Filled with the same joyous bout of excitement as the others, except for Innes himself. He might have been having fun, but you really couldn't tell. He looked to have been concentrating on trying to pelt Ephraim with as many snowballs as he could.
It wasn't working out for him to much. Innes arch rival was indeed making things hard for him. Ephraim was dodging more than the crowned prince of Frelia could hit him with. A frustrated prince started to bombard Ephraim with bigger and a lot more snowballs, turning this once friendly game into a full on war. The prince of Renais being the way he is was able dodge the onslaught of snow yet again, only for it to slam into the face of Grado's unsuspecting prince. Lyon went down hard.
Knoll being surprised and oddly amused at the sudden turn of events took that as his sign to hurry along his merry way. With a flourish of his cape, he pulled his furred hood down, to hide his chuckle as he resumed his journey. The sound of snow crunching underneath boots filled the air of the silent night. Every now and then Knoll would hum to himself, occasionally waving at his fellow Christmas Envoy's, as they too passed out their gifts.
He only had one more gift to give, one that he saved for last. A special gift for a special someone- his summoner. Just thinking about the summoner was enough to bring another smile to his face. If it wasn’t for Lorraine, Knoll probably never would have known or experienced what true love felt like. She was his every thing, his world even. The moon,the sun, the stars that guided his path and his very own personal flower. Lorraine felt the same about him.
With that last thought in mind, Knoll gripped his gift basket a little tighter and with a spring in his step continued down the corridor towards the Summoner's bedroom. Having made it to her door, a nervous sigh could be heard , before the knocking of a door echoed throughout the empty hallway. Not to long after, shuffling could be heard on the other side of the closed door, and a soft voice saying, “Hold on, I'm coming.”
Knoll waited with baited anticipation, as the creaking of an opening door filled his eardrums. Soon after a pair of eyes the color of a tawny brown could be seen through the slight crack of the door.
“Oh Knoll, what a pleasant surprise! Why don't you come on in!?” Lorraine said excitedly, as she opened the door a little wider for him to enter.
“Thank you Lorraine , I would very much like too.” he answered as he stepped into the room.
“What brings you here?
“Oh I just so happened to bring by your Christmas gift.” Raising his arm out, Knoll handed over his gift basket, to a very happy looking summoner. “I hope you like it. I spent extra time picking out your gift. Happy Holidays Lorraine.”
The summoner took the then outstretched gift from Knolls hold. Setting it down gently on her nightstand, she began to unwrap he gift. One by one she pulled out each individual gift. Each gift she pulled out, the sentiment behind each one became apparent. The gifts ranged from a floral arrangement of her favorite flowers, a new book she hasn't read, to a few seeds of plants she's never seen before, as well as a few other little trinkets.
The one that caught her eye the most so happened to be a little black box wrapped in a dark purple ribbon. Opening up the lid to the box Lorraine let out a gasp as her eyes came in contact with her gift. In the box was a pendant, one that was obviously made by hand. The pendent was made out of sterling silver. It was in the shape of a lotus flower and colored in a very outstanding shade of lilac purple, and in the very middle was a medium sized round amethyst stone. But that’s not all on the very back of the necklace was a heartfelt message that said:
“To my dearest Lorraine,
Thank you for being my flower and light of my life. I may not say it all that often but I am very grateful to have met you. The love and support you have provided me has made my life a lot more brighter. I'm so happy to have been summoned to Askr. So here are to many more days to together.
Love you forever more my Moon, my sun, and most of all my heart. “

“Thank you so much Knoll! I really really love my gifts!” with tears in her eyes Lorraine then proceed to embrace Knoll. He happily excepted the hug and even wiped her eyes dry. “I'm glad you enjoyed them.” The two then met half way to share a kiss full of love.
“By the way Knoll did you see Lyon get pelted in the face awhile go? He totally got wiped out, he might be dead.”
