“A man after my own heart. Both it is.” 

Hauling himself up off his barstool with a groan, Rick sways slightly as he attempts to find his feet, having clearly misjudged how much he’s already had to drink. As soon as he finds enough equilibrium to stops the room spinning, he retrieves his flask from his jacket pocket, shooting back another warming sip of whiskey before slipping it back into his pocket. Easing his hand to the rear of his alternative’s neck he offers him a crazed smile that communicates the glee of a man with only one thing on his mind; destruction.

To Rick’s mind, there was a unparalleled purity about it; being able to stand with everything around you burning thinking of nothing but the bright warmth of the flames and right now, that was exactly what he needed, and such activity was always more enjoyable with like-minded company.

“This way…”

Guiding Riccardo out of the bar, they stumble out of the door only to be presented with a vast empty parking lot. Pointing his wrist device skyward, admittedly forced to steady himself on his company’s shoulder, there is a comical ‘beep’ like a car alarm before Rick’s ship; the Nautilus, appears out of nowhere as the cloaking system deactivates. The massive freighter ship is so large it practically blocks out the sky. One look at the large array of guns and canons fixed to the front and rear make it clear that the craft is used for far more than mere transportation.

“Ain’t she a beauty?” The old man coos, as if both men are standing staring at someone’s particularly adorable new born baby. “Built her myself.”

Stumbling over to the ship, Rick places a brief kiss one of the metal struts before bursting into laughter. “Ss-so fucking drunk.” He admits with a chuckle before wandering back over to Riccardo to decant an array of weapons into his hands, some of which are black marbles that clearly require some kind of activation.

“Here…you…you better take these before I blow us both to hell.” Rick is barely paying attention as he stumbles back towards the ship.

“Fucking…I’m too drunk for the stairs….TRACKER BEAM!”

A crowd of aliens are beginning to gather to watch the old shouting up at his unresponsive giant ship like some kind of crazed lunatic. “BEAM…BEAM ME UP YOU MOTHERFUCKER!”

After a further moment of no response, the old man looks down at his wrist device and releases a light little laugh. “Fucking voice command is turned off.” He admits sheepishly.

Grabbing Riccardo, admittedly harder than he intended, he once again looks skyward. “Beam us…”

Before he is able to finish the sentence, the two men are instantly transported up into the main command deck of the ship, the momentum of which sends Rick straight to the floor where he sits for a moment in a crumpled heap, before turning to his company with a beaming inebriated smile. 

“TA DA!”

       Riccardo just seems pleased as punch to see that he wasn’t alone in this sort of macabre excitement. It really WAS nice to meet people with an interest in the same things as him. Of course, that was ironic, considering the universe was chalked full of people just like him - who were him, in a sense. But he usually didn’t get along well with them. This one though - Riccardo wouldn’t call him a friend, but he didn’t actually mind his company.        He held just the right amount of chaotic energy that drew Riccardo in like a moth to a flame. For the sheer draw of wanting something to fill in the time, and because he really didn’t have anything better to do. Morty would be fine at home. He’d probably be relieved to know that Riccardo would be absent that day.        Riccardo didn’t really mind the man-handling, actually, he was probably just a little too okay with it. He didn’t even tense, but it probably helped a little bit that he was just as drunk as the other Rick was. He follows the alternate outside and watches him as he finds him ship. Riccardo was impressed, though he’d seen many ships in his days, and made quite a few as-well (whether for himself or for quick cash), but he could appreciate good craftsmanship when it was being dangled right under his nose.         He finds himself laughing more freely when the man kisses his ship. More so when he’s handed the weapons, and chooses not to comment when one falls on the ground and he has to clumsily reach down to pick it back up, almost dropping everything in the process. Man. If he didn’t kind of enjoy this guys company right now, he’d really be considering using his inebriation as a good way of getting a shiny new ship. That would be funny. But the idea of blowing shit up was even funnier, so the thought came and went rather quickly.

       “Y-y-yeah, fuck yeah.” He looks up, and nearly falls over when the other grabs him again. Once more, he doesn’t think much on the others grip. Honestly, it’s just sort of amusing. And he laughs again, boisterous and grainy as usual. When they’re finally up into the ship, he whistles, looking around before finding the other on the ground next to him, dropping the weapons to clumsily try and help the guy up.        “Come on, you big fuckin’ baby. We got peoples lives to destroy, an’ shit like that--!” He’s still sort of giggling as he helps the other, which is sort of hard, given he’s a bit smaller then his counterpart. “You’re fuckin’ heavy, man. Makin’ me look real bad.” He snorts, finally getting the man onto his feet again. Poetic. “O-Okay, can I drive---?”

“Well, darling? Did you enjoy the show? I know it can be a bit hectic and loud when I perform, but I find that humans seem to like the chaos. Which is by no means much of an issue for me~” 

He leans back in the seat of his limo and folds one leg over the other daintily, before he flashes a smile.

“Is there somewhere you want me to drop you off now dear?”

“Or do you think after all of that, you can handle going back to my room with me~?”

       Riccardo was used to playing roles by now. In every situation, with every person, they got to meet a different version of him. Not that he was a liar - which he could be - but that he just didn’t feel the need to be a dick to everybody he met. Nevertheless if he was having a good time with them, or just found them attractive enough.        MTT happened to be both, which was pretty nice. His show had been good too, and Riccardo enjoyed his theatrical, and somewhat cryptic way of doing things. He was probably one of the more interesting aliens that Riccardo had run into, so to him, it was a nice way of relaxing for once. No mobsters, no weapons... unless you counted MTT himself, which basically only added to the allure.

       All in all, the thought of joining him back to his room was something he wouldn’t have declined in a billion years. “All of that? Please, I could do this all night. Especially if I get to look at you doin’ it. --- I’m so game.”

“I would rather die than eat my ice cream in anything that’s not a cup.” There’s a lilt in his tone, PLEASED AS PUNCH with this sudden turn of events. Probably because he was getting ice cream; there was still a kid SOMEWHERE deep down and like HELL he was going to let anything ruin this chance. “And I like coffee-flavor.”

Boring? Yes very.

Did Mortimer CARE? No, not in the slightest.

He doesn’t seem bothered in the SLIGHTEST about everyone looking slack-jawed at the two who had just come out from the swirling green VORTEX.

“You paying? Cuz I think that’s DEFINITELY what grampa’s are supposed to do.”

       Riccardo frowned a bit at the word ‘grandpa’, but despite that less then thrilled reaction, he just sighed and nodded in agreement. He had planned to pay anyways. He knew Mortimer could too, but was just probably being a little shit about it. He was kind of like a cat that way. Knocking shit over just to show he didn’t give a fuck.        It was funny, sometimes.        “Yeah, fine. And why am I not surprised you want coffee flavor. You know the stuff stunts your height, right?” That was probably something he was more concerned with then Mortimer, given that he wore fucking heels every day. ‘They’re boots!’ he’d say, but he knew he just wanted that good 1 inch more to make himself look a little more intimidating. Did it work? Probably not.

       He went and ordered for them, getting himself pistachio ice cream, and handing Mortimers his. “So..?” He said, moving to sit down at one of the cold, definitely uncomfortable seats. He took a straight bite out of his ice cream, maybe just as a power move, or because he was weird.

This Morty was curious. 

He served to make him more and more so the longer he spoke to him; it only confirmed many of his own assessments that he’s been building on Ricky’s Morty. Mortimer’s mouth set into a thin line in his curiosity, head tilting slightly to the side like a confused animal. 

“I can safely say that I’m the SAME WAY when it comes to the assessments.” He taps his chin, breaking their focused gaze to stare up towards the sky in thought. “It’s hard for me to trust people…” Which was an interesting concept ITSELF. Ricky truly was like a parasite, worming his way in. “Takes me a LONG TIME before I can trust others.”

       “It probably should. Even machines malfunction, become unreliable. It makes life as useless as it is more precious.” Even though he wasn’t human, he liked them. He enjoyed life, though sometimes it could be hard to juggle his own growing cognizance. He was made into this world to grow up way too fast, but he didn’t really realize that this was the case. To him, he just wanted to be good. He just wasn’t beyond doing what he had to in order to get things done.

       “Not to wax poetic about it. But that’s what I like to think. I’m becoming more and more or a person every day. And it kind of sucks.”

       What to say about THIS Rick..? Damn, if only Riccardo knew that himself.        He thinks that this Rick is weird, by many definitions of the word, and that he hasn’t fully gotten a good read on him quite yet. Does that matter though? Hell no. Whatever this Rick’s intentions are with hanging around the sorry piece of shit that Riccardo is, is honestly beyond the mans understanding. Or maybe it’s not even that. Maybe Riccardo just doesn’t wanna believe he’s ready to just make a few friends quite yet. He’s too comfortable in his own misery and loneliness, and ironically, his god complex to boot. But give him some credit, he knows when someone might be worth his time or not. Or maybe when they’re just fucked up enough to deal with him for awhile.        It’ll happen anyways, though. The friendship thing. Riccardo is the kind of man who takes one sliver of kindness and subconsciously twist it into an excuse to become morbidly attached after awhile. A long while. At least to the point where he’s got this Rick’s back. The other doesn’t have to return that sentiment at all, it really doesn’t matter to Riccardo how he feels on the matter. He’s not hanging out with the man to gain much of anything but to stifle his boredom and loneliness.        It’s just kinda nice to be treated without kittens gloves, or like some kind of impassable monster.

“Well then…why didn’t you say anything earlier?” The old man laughs, drunkenly banging his fist against the bar top, clearly ignoring the fact the topic had not actually come under discussion yet.

“There’s a Federation base three clicks west of here, just past neutral space, my ship is parked right outside with enough fire power to take out a planet…”

He leans in closer, the hum of whiskey strong on his breath as the liquor robs him of any respect for personal boundaries. 

“Or….” 

Grabbing his alternative’s wrist, he shoves a small handful of cluster bombs into his palm with a wild smile. “We could go old school…transport down to the surface, dish these out like some kind of fucked up Easter Bunny and feel the heat of the blast radius against our skin. I’m sure that’s how Miami keeps his tan you know.” 

Leaning back in his seat, Rick downs what remains of his drink, before shouting over to the bartender to order a bottle of whiskey to take with him. “I’m kidding… he continues, “…that shit comes from a bottle, I’m telling you, can smell that shit a mile away, fucking caustic.”

       Riccardo SWAYS with the energetic wave that he gets from the other Rick. WELL. Maybe he SHOULD just start bringing up his pyromania to complete (mostly) strangers. Who knows, he might end up making more friends that way! Or any friends.        It was - interesting to have someone stick around him just because they wanted to. At least wanted to explode shit with him, which was fair enough for him to take it as a compliment. It didn’t take MUCH, after-all, to please him. As much as it may seem the opposite. Sometimes, it just took a very specific type of person to leave him feeling like he WASN’T just a freak without a leash.        His surprise for Ricks willingness to create some mayhem didn’t cease when he practically insulted his fiance. Of course, usually Riccardo would jab anybody in the neck with the heel of his boot for that. But it was TRUE - Miami could be just so vain sometimes. He could hear him now, just squawking on and ON about how his tan was ‘all natural’.        “It’s true! Haha!” He was SMILING now. “I mean the bottle. That man is actually as soft as a kitten if you get to know him.” His chuckles simmer down into a gratified smirk. He looks down at the cluster bombs he hadn’t even thought TWICE about the other man handing him. Being quite inebriated at this point himself with more then a few bumps of k-lax smeared across his nostrils, his wits were all but completely gone. “Hmmm. Y’know, I don’t have anything g-going on tonight. So. Why not both?”

       Honestly? Riccardo probably loves Mortimer just about as much - if not just marginally more - then he hates him. Or more specifically, just the attachment he’s grown towards him. Both feelings confuse the old man, which is something he obviously hates, and so he frankly tries not to even think about it much. It just makes things easier to deal with.        He knows that their relationship is.... weird, but there’s a part of him that really needs Mortimer in his life right about now. He considers Mortimer more of an equal, but still see’s him as just a child (something he’d never tell the president). He wouldn’t WANT to consider Mortimer as someone who needs protection, but cannot help it. It’s probably this HUMAN side of himself that lives on within his relationship with Mortimer that he truly hates.        Mortimer never asked for his help, but a dad will always be a dad at heart.
