[ Hello, friends, I’m home from work. We should do a thing sometime. ]
[ My children, I have returned. See you tonight. :D ]
I love you, and when you’re not around everything is terrible and dumb.

"Oh Alucaaaard~!" Guess who is knock, knock, knocking atop your coffin, good sir.
Knocking back on his coffin, he slid it open a little, peering out into the light to see who was there.
“…A…Annette? You’re back?”
Annette smiled, placing her hands behind her back and nodded her head in confirmation. She’d been busy, travelling here and there, but she was home again. At least for now, and that’s what counted she supposed.
“I am~. How are you, dear?”
I love you, Annette. I want to stay with you and the Belmonts forever...
“That’s… quite nice of you, dear. But I’m afraid I’ve no idea who you are, silly.”
[ I am here and will be getting to replies very shortly. ]
[ I really wasn’t expecting such a warm welcome back, thank you guys so much! As much fun as I’m having, unfortunately I have to go to bed because ugh work. I’ll be back tomorrow, though, or Tuesday night at the latest depending on how tired I am. <3 <3 <3 Nini, everyone! ]
Lady Annette, it's been far too long!
“Albus~! Yes, it really has~!” Annette said cheerfully, rushing forward to embrace the poor man and press a kiss of greeting against his cheek. Before he could do anything such as protest, she took his hand and dragged the poor man into her home, leading him to the sofa where she gestured for him to sit. “How have you been?”
"Oh, no, please do complain. I sometimes run my colleagues ragged - even just walking somewhere in a hurry. -So if you DO have concerns or questions, by all means, natter my ear off. Communication is important, so is learning. -And this would be a good chance to see how resourceful you are. Strength comes in many forms, as I am sure you are aware."
For a moment afterward, Albus listened to Annette’s answer regarding cave trolls and tapped his chin in thought afterward. "They’re less hideous and more… well, they are quite touchy-feely. With their tongues. I’ll just let that image sink in for a moment - then you can decide if you still have the stomach for this little venture."
“Oh, Albus, you don’t want me to complain, dear. Believe me. Your ear really will fall off, or you’ll fall asleep like Richter does. Or maybe both,” Annette said in return, smiling a little. “Mm, I suppose we will have to see. Resourceful… when I was a little girl, I used Maria as a meat-shield when things like fairies or bugs came at us. That counts as resourceful, no?” She wouldn’t list the many times she’d used poor Maria as a distraction or to get things done that she certainly couldn’t do, especially as children. Or the times she’d literally thrown her poor little sister in the way of oncoming ‘threats’ such as large insects or an angry fairy or two that they’d managed to disturb.
…Actually, that hadn’t been resourceful at all, just plain mean, and she knew it. But at the time, she’d assumed that was what little sisters were for.
Blinking again, she paled at the thought. “So… they’re like… big dogs? Or… troll… dogs? If I beat it upside the head with a rock, will it die?”
"… Ms Annette." Albus blinked at the admission of what the dear lady used to do to her little sister. "I… did it never occur to you that you had to protect your little sister? -I never did those kinds of things to Shanoa." Usually.
"… And as for cave trolls, no they are not really like big dogs. Try… human-like lizard things that have a penchant for making a person feel really, really uncomfortable." If not downright violated. Shudder.
“It occurred to me later, yes,” Annette responded, shifting a bit in her seat. “But you see, when Maria was born all I saw was a little slave that I could dress up and make do my chores. And that worked for the first few years until I realized she could hit a lot harder than I could. But before that, it did occur to me when I saw a boy much older than Maria talking to her about some not so innocent things. I don’t think I’ve slapped anyone so hard before, and he never came near her again.”
As sweet as Annette could be, she had a temper on her, it only had to be drawn out, and it had taken everything in her not to go after that little boy and shove his snide little face into the mud. But alas, that was in the past.
“...That’s disgusting, and if one should step foot anywhere near me I am going to light it on fire.”

Before he could do anything such as protest, she took his hand and dragged the poor man into her home, leading him to the sofa where she gestured for him to sit. “How have you been?”
Albus flinched when suddenly finding himself in the arms of the excited Annette, his jumbled thoughts something along the lines of 'Ohgoodlordwoman-getoffohplease'. The question, though, was whether or not to just let her hug it all out on her own, or gently push her away -without seeming too rude or abrasive. A tough call at first, but if Annette were left to her own devices, Albus felt that she was quite likely to keep clinging on for far longer than appropriate towards polite company. And so gently placing his hands on the sides of her shoulders he nudged her until she returned to sitting up properly on her own. "Yes, yes, it’s no trouble. Though it won’t be all fun and games. I’ll be expecting you to help out - carry things like a pack mule, climb steep cliffsides, and fight the odd critter that might impede our search." He paused a beat, then laughed quietly. "All right, most of that is stretched a bit, but you get the idea. It’s not going to be a simple stroll in the park - but perhaps about as uneventful if we’re so lucky." Another pause. "Ever lay eyes on a cave troll?"
Poor Albus. The oblivious Annette simply squeezed him, at least until he gently pushed her away, and even then she smiled and nodded excitedly, clasping her hands together in front of herself. This was something she would not be telling Maria or Richter about, of course; undoubtedly they’d be trying to talk her out of it or worse, Richter would simply forbid her to do it.
She’d figure something out, some story as to why she was not going to be home for a few days. Or, better yet, she’d just not say anything at all. Chances were they wouldn’t even notice… yes, just leave a little note… it was all coming together in her mind now.
“O-of course, I’ll do whatever you want me to do, Albus! I will be as useful as I can, I promise, and I won’t complain a single bit,” she supplied, making a little ‘cross-my-heart’ gesture over the left side of her chest. “Mm, even if it isn’t, I’m sure I will be able to manage. I would like to think that over the years I have become slightly less useless.” A blink, though… cave… troll?
“…I… I haven’t. What do they look like? Are they hideous?”

The old German approaches his dearly beloved form behind as she makes her way down the hall of their home to the drawing room, pulling her back by the hips and into his arms to kiss her on the cheek, with a hand placed on her stomach and the other on her hips. "... Gutt morning mein dear." He smirks.
Most mornings, Annette was up bright and early, busily making breakfast for her husband and whomever else decided to stop by at the time. These days she was finding it a little harder to get out of bed, but that was to be expected, considering she was nearly eight months pregnant.
She hadn’t meant to sleep in, but even getting to sleep anymore was a lot of effort, she couldn’t get comfortable and when she did she slept in all sorts of awkward positions, and even on the floor sometimes. Not to mention the insomnia, she was told it was a normal thing, but boy did she ever despise it.
Still half asleep, Annette was making her way down the hall to find her husband and both apologize for sleeping in and thank him for letting her, when a pair of arms suddenly pulled her into a familiar embrace. Blinking, she glanced up and relaxed at the sight of her husband, smiling as well and leaning up to press a kiss against one of his cheeks as well. “Good morning. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to sleep in so late… but thank you for being a dear and letting me~.”
“Of course, mein liebe.” He said rubbing her stomach.
“Every oven needs time to bake the bread, ja?”
Mmm.. freshly baked bread.
“How did you sleep last night? You did sqvirm qvite a bit. Even vis you in mein arms.”
“Yes, but I am very much looking forward to when the timer goes off for this one,” she replied; it was true, too -- as happy as she was that they were going to have a son or daughter in the near future, she was going to be even happier when said child was not squirming around inside of her.
“Mm... I slept fine after a while. It’s very hard to get comfortable, everything hurts and sleeping on my back is almost impossible. I miss being able to sleep on my stomach.”
