some of y’all need to learn what white passing really means. white passing means you have a parent who is a person of color but you come out looking white. white passing means that your grandparents were people of color, but because of genetics and stuff, you come out looking white. white passing means you are a person of color, with a direct person of color from your lineage but bcs someone got with a white person–you look white. it’s how genetic work. (i have a whole group of cousins who look WHITE because their dad is black and their mom is white–they look like her!)

white passing is not your ancestors generations back being a person of color. if your parents or grand parents weren’t black, brown, asian (any type of asian), arab, latine, indigenous and you come out looking white, YOU ARE WHITE. you aren’t white passing. 

you are making it extremely hard for actual white passing poc to be recognized when you appropriate the term because you want to be labeled as a person of color.

and most of you who say you are white passing have no concept of white passing privilege. whenever someone brings up white passing privilege you flip shit and that tells me, and actual poc that you aren’t white passing and you don’t know what white passing means.

stop appropriating the term white passing if you, your parents or grandparents aren’t any of the ethnicities i mentioned above. you are making validation almost impossible for actual white passing people of color.

You guys, I reblogged this 2 days ago out of desperation. Today I was looking through my old wallet for coins to go to the vending machine because that’s all I can fucking afford. I haven’t touched this thing since July/ August. When I found a disappointing 15 cents in the coin pocket I went to the billfold to see if any coins were in there. That’s when I saw them. 5 crisp bills amounting to $22. I literally screamed and danced around my room out of joy before remembering that I’d reblogged this post.
