Tried to tip a tumblr blog at 1am and it was such a suspicious transaction it immediately put a full fraud freeze on my account

Fortunately, banks no longer just ask 'did you make that transaction' they want to make sure you weren't scammed into making that transaction and 5mins after their call will give away all your money anyway.

This is an honest to goodness life saving movement and I cannot be happier banks are adopting it

Unfortunately, it meant I had to have the most embarrassing financial call of my life

i think i feel kinda leery about how a lot of the big tumblr posts critiquing nolan's odyssey are very similar to the maga people mad at it. like can we unclench for a second. the homeric epics are so old and foundational that one adaptation is not going to distort or disrespect them in any substantial way. u can say it's boring or that its themes were shoddy or the acting and props were bland (most of which i agree with) but the handwringing is very trite

& another thing is that reinterpreting classics to reflect modern concerns is a tactic that's been used tons of times. once again, you can simply just say, i dont think it was clever about what it wanted to say to its modern audience; instead of oh this was so disrespectful!
