okay so a post talking about how tos sexualizes men just as much as it sexualizes women had me thinking...

they STOPPED doing that in the following series. I think the only series that comes even close is Enterprise.

I guess this is why T'Pol wearing that outfit doesn't bother me that much.

I also think that Vulcans don't really care about tight/revealing clothing. Like. it's not a thing for them. Its okay for female/feminine-presenting Vulcans to wear such clothing and have it NOT be sexual thing. like. its just casual. its just there. not a big deal. its like. yeah. she's a woman. so what? she can wear whatever she wants and it doesn't mean anything, or it DOES mean something and that's OKAY.

I’m going to say something that might sound crazy. Suicide and suicide attempts are sort of a societal alarm bell that says “something is very wrong with the environment this individual was in.” A living being choosing to take themselves out of existence is the most extreme act of distress there is. The state stepping in to silence this alarm bell by funneling suicidal people into a state sanctioned euthanasia program, normalizing this act through a socially accepted bureaucratic system, is not a good thing. It goes hand in hand with the state’s interest in maintaining the status quo at the expense of the population and the psychiatric industry’s interest in individualizing societal problems to extract profit and aid the existing system. It’s saying “there are no complaints here, just people with sick brains, carry on.”

If showering, going outside, etc. happen to be The Activities you're struggling to start, or are otherwise just too big a step to use as a starting point, try: wiggling. Wherever you are, just wiggle whatever body parts are most cooperative. Fingers, toes, hands, legs, arms, etc. Introduce movement and create momentum without the commitment of actually Going Somewhere (which would inherently require doubling that energy expenditure to get back). Also a great gauge of whether the problem is lack of momentum or lack of energy! If wiggling is all I can manage, then energy was the limitation and I need rest to improve it. If wiggling feels good, momentum was the limitation and I've created some to start with!

It does always annoy me when Stargate has to put someone in a fighter jet and they don't choose Sam. Usually story-wise it makes sense but like, the majority of her career was as a fighter pilot! let her do what she's good at !!!

I keep thinking about the stargate sg1 team somehow finding themselves like 1000 years in the future on some planet they freed from the Gua'old.

They've been immortalised as heroes but its been so long they've fallen into legend. They're the King Arthur of this planet, said to return when they are needed most.

The sg1 characters have been bastardised beyond belief. Jack is an Odin figure. A wise leader but also a trickster. Sam is said to contain the knowledge of the universe. Teal'c is said to be able to lift mountains and, perhaps if his age came up originally, be as old as the universe. Daniel is said to be a kind a generous soul who can speak to all things, people, animals, rocks, everything.

Idk where I'm going with this but I just couldn't get the idea of SG1 becoming immortalised in myth and legend, their adventures told to children as bedtime stories.

And then they just kinda...appear haha
