omg I absolutely live for flirt x flirt character tropes. The banter? Amusing asf. The tension? Jaw dropping. The teasing? Immaculate. And it’s not just sexual tension, the characters are attracted to each other’s mind and soul. They are the same, never standing behind them or infront of them. No, just beside them. And that- that is what I live for‼️
bro i wonder how David baszuki feels seeing all those posts put hexes and curses on him whenever he goes on Twitter, cause personally i’ve been laughing my ass off like crazy seeing them💀😭
hear me out, instead of the na’vi having the ABO characteristics it’s the humans instead? Of course it would be a spider centered fic but it could be anyone else tbh.
when spider first presents, its a nightmare. Like maybe he would believe that he’s dying which causes him to go into a frantic panic which distresses him even more. Which ultimately leads him to telling norm and max, in which they explain he’s presenting.
tbh spider could be any sub gender, but for the sake of this I’ll say omega. But I believe that after he’s done with his first cycle, he’ll be more possessive towards the sullies. He might do it unintentionally but his instincts say otherwise.
Spider tries not to scent Jake and neytiri’s kids out right since he’s pretty sure she wouldn’t like him doing that, but he can’t help himself sometimes. So he only does it when their wrists are near his. Since Tuk is about the same height as him he has no problem discreetly scenting her.
Whenever he’s about to enter his preheat, Kiri, Lo’ak, Neteyam and Tuk all give him something that has their scents on it. The trills he produces when he gets them are definitely happy ones.
he’s around the sullies more because he thinks of them of like their his pack, much to neytiri’s dismay. (So of course it hurts whenever he gets kicked out of their marui.)
When he gets captured by the RDA, Spider pheromones go wild. Anger, fear, and sadness floods his captivity cell. He becomes more feral to protect himself.
when his heat cycle comes during his captivity, spider is a different person. His instincts has taken over as he becomes tense of every person entering his room. He snarls, hisses and even assaults anyone who comes too close to him. He’s not in his nest back at home with his family where it is safe. He cannot rest, even if it is his cycle, he cannot rest.
during the battle with when Neteyam dies, the wine that he produces is filled with sorrow and grief. He mourns for a person that’s been with him all his life. His brother, his family.
When he gets to the metkanyian clan with the sullies, his mind and instincts are all over the place. He’s tense and he can’t rest. (The metkanyian sees the way the tawtute looks crestfallen, they all do.)
Neytiri is much more volatile, hissing at him whenever she sees him. He already goes through great lengths to avoid her since the cut appeared on his chest. She offsets his already haywire instincts which make him fear her.
Even though he’s back with the sullies, he cannot nest. Spider thought it was a one time thing, but no, it was not. He cannot nest period.
When his pre heat came around once again, spider got jumpy. He didn’t nest, he didn’t sleep well, and pairing that with the awful heat cramps he gets, it’s was just terrible.
On top of that, whenever neytiri hisses at him or when Jake looks the other way (to focus on something much more important than him) spider feels his heart hurt.
at first he thought it was a trick but everytime it happened it got worse. Spider became weird. His heart felt hollow and he became lackluster involving everything and anything. He couldn’t even play with Tuk Kiri, and Lo’ak. It finally came to a boiling point where Jake finally notices something is wrong so he calls Max and norm.
He gets diagnosed with rejection sickness.
And then they go through that whole process of finally integrating him to their family. Bonus points if Tonowari and his family help spider instead of the sullies.
He laid in his hammock, eyes wide open with the only audible sounds he could focus on was the soft breathing of the Sullys and the faint hissing sound of his exopack providing him air everytime he inhaled.
Ever since the battle with Quaritch, Spider’s nights were empty of sleep. His brain refused to shut down and instead chose to resurface prior events, which was something he didn’t need or want.
But he just couldn’t stop remembering.
There were many things he couldn’t stop thinking about, how one of the hammocks were now empty, previously occupied by the oldest sully, how the cut on his chest stung like hell every time he shifted around, how his head hurt basically almost everyday.
But the most reoccurring thought was the part where he… saved Quaritch.
Saving him wasn’t his best moment, in fact it might have been his worst. And guilt was eating him up from the inside like a parasite every time he thought about it, which was a lot.
Quaritch himself said that he didn’t care about him and that they weren’t family. (That hurt more than spider would ever like to admit.) And yet, Spider still felt the need to save him.
Why?
His stomach began to get queasy as the feeling of wanting to throw up became much more apparent. Oh eywa, Spider felt sick.
He felt sick that Neteyam died (because of him).
He felt sick that Quaritch was now roaming around alive (because of him).
And most of all, he felt sick of himself.
Because he knew why he saved Quaritch. Ignoring everything wouldn’t make anything better, but instead make it worse. He’s been denying himself the true reason why he saved Quaritch.
He didn’t want to acknowledge what he felt.
Familial love.
Something he’s been craving since he was young. Something he’s wished for more than anything else. He thought he was satisfied watching how Neytiri and Jake interacted with their children from a distance, but of course he wasn’t.
It’s never been enough.
It will never be enough.
He wants and wants and wants.
He wants something he can’t have.
So imagine how Ironic it was that the first person to give it to him was his terrorist father. Not Jake, Toruk Makto, the man he’s looked up to for his whole life, but his father who’s destroyed many lives and will destroy again.
It was sickening.
Spider knew he shouldn’t feel this way, Quaritch was bad, Jake was good, simple as that. But what he would give to feel like someone’s son- anybody’s son.
(Oh eywa, he was a stray. The slightest bit of affection towards him goes a long way, it’s clear to see. Almost like a dog.)
However in the end it seems like Quaritch didn’t want him either.
And that made his heart ache.
Why can’t he be anybody’s son?
Why can’t he get what he wants?
Why can’t he be something worthy to love?
Why is he not enough?
Why?
Just why?
His thoughts run in a circle, never ending, never stopping.
Sleep won’t come easy, or it won’t come at all.
That’s fine, Spider’s already anticipated that a long time ago.
Just spent days and HOURS searching for a song I heard in an ad. I used Shazam, that didn’t get me anywhere. I recited the lyrics that I heard 24 million times and to no avail. I even started clicking on all the songs that matched the lyrics I was searching. And THEN at my wits end I just used google’s Ai to search for it, just to find out that ITS NOT ACTUALLY AN OFFICIAL SONG. IT WAS JUST SPECIFICALLY MADE FOR THE AD AND NOTHING MORE. IM GENUINELY ABOUT TO START TWEAKING OUT AHHHHHHHH
Xeno is a man of science. He’s always been intrigued with the ways of space and science. But one thing science couldn’t explain is the breathtaking beauty of his husband, Stanley.
They’ve been married for 3 years and still not a day goes by where he can’t help but admire him. His golden locks could have anyone jealous with how luscious it looks and feels.
His sharp almond shaped eyes that could pierce your soul, could only be found in model magazines. His golden liquified colored iris’s could make you think you’ve entered paradise with one look.
The purple wine colored lipstick he wears everyday without fail, could only be described as intoxicating to the human eye. He couldn’t help but want to kiss him until his lipstick was all smudged.
Xeno couldn’t help but think that if Aphrodite had a favorite child, the obvious answer would be Stanley. Xeno can’t help but to love every single part of him.
He really hadn’t had a clue as to why Stanley stood beside him and went along with these morally questionable plans he came up with.
So Xeno asked him on an uneventful afternoon as to why. “Because you’re you, Xeno.” Stanley said that like he was his whole world.
It was as if he ripped out his heart and served it on a silver platter just for Xeno’s eyes only. Xeno didn’t say anything afterwards.
No others words were needed to understand the vague message Stanley wanted to convey. I’ll always stay with you. They may have been married for 3 years, but hearing such intimate words tumble so freely out of his husband’s mouth without restraint always leaves him at a loss for words.
But not even Xeno himself can deny the devotement and fondness dripping from Stanley’s words. And these words got even more solidified when he was captured by Senku’s team.
Of course Stanley would come for him, he’s his husband. But it was the fact that Stanley chased him around the world just to get him back.
In that moment Xeno could really start to understand the lengths Stanley would go for him.
Thinking back on these fond memories, Xeno just can’t help but appreciate everything Stanley has done for him. So for that matter Xeno wakes up everyday and works hard for science, for their future, and for Stanley.
Over the past few weeks, Bobby can only be described as not acting like himself. His infectious energy hasn’t lost its glow; instead, it’s gotten seemingly brighter. Especially when he looks at his phone.
Of course, when Mira, Zoey, and Rumi first started seeing a difference in his behavior, they brushed it off. They all thought that maybe he was just having a good day.
But this happened for weeks, and although there was nothing suspicious to raise eyebrows at, Bobby began to stare intensely at his phone, seemingly waiting for something.
He also began to gloss over giving them water after practice. Yeah, getting worked up over water was weird and a bit rude from the perspective of outsiders, but it was Bobby.
Bobby always handed out water. And oddly enough, that was what made them finally turn their heads. Over the years, Huntrix evolved and they couldn’t have done it without Bobby.
Bobby was their anchor, holding their ship down. Even though Bobby has been with them for a couple of years as their manager, he’s always felt like family to them, unlike Celine.
They felt like he was a person they could rely on, to hold them when things get tough, to make them smile when days are bleak, to be there when they need him the most.
Their relationship felt like a father doting on his children. That was something they didn’t have when they were growing up. So they cherished and valued this relationship with their hearts.
To summarize, they’ve become increasingly worried about their unofficial father figure, Bobby. And of course they weren’t going to let this slide. Determination filled their bodies.
They were going to get down to the bottom of this, and fast.
════ ⋆★⋆ ════
For a week and a half, they observed and learned Bobby’s unusual habits, and they all concluded that their answer was something on his phone that was making him act that way.
But after their practice, they had unintentionally (it was intentional) overheard him making plans that week to go with another person.
They all collectively grinned like madmen (women?) and decided this was their chance to discover what was wrong with Bobby.
So when the day came, they all got into their spy gear. Their ‘spy gear’ consisted of dark baggy clothes with sunglasses. Sure, it was basic, but if their fans couldn’t identify them like this, how could Bobby?
They followed Bobby at a safe distance out of his sight and peripheral view. Did they look weird to bystanders? Probably. But that didn’t matter as of right now. They were on a mission.
And sure, this seemed a little stalker-ish but, to them it was just following behind him without his knowledge (which is stalking but, I digress).
After following Bobby for a few minutes, he went into a shop, specifically a flower shop. After waiting a bit, he came out with a bouquet of sunflowers, tulips, and carnations.
Now they were even more confused. Who was Bobby getting these flowers for? And they were walking once again, well, for Bobby it was more so skipping like a high school girl.
Just like how the saja boys produced hearts out of thin air, Bobby had flowers surrounding his head like he was in a manga. Huntrix was walking around for a while, so to say the least, they were tired.
This was supposed to be their day off but, all that can be pushed aside for Bobby. After coming to their senses from mourning their day off, they could finally see Bobby entering a place.
It was a restaurant. And quite a fancy-looking one too. They all go in to the restaurant trying to follow behind him.
They somehow got a table right next to Bobby, which is crazy, but they might as well use this to their advantage, right? And yeah, they may be on a mission, but it wouldn’t hurt to indulge in some food.
They went a little crazy with how many things they ordered, but food was food, and they were hungry and tired anyway. Once they were done ordering, they snapped out of their food-induced trance.
They immediately hid their faces behind their menus, only taking peeks at Bobby when they wanted to see what was going on. Except for Zoey. She, for some reason, had brought binoculars with her?
Obviously, Mira and Rumi reprimanded her; it looked highly suspicious! They were going to be found out before they got any intel. Out of the corner of their eye, they spot someone eyeing their spot.
They hoped it wasn’t one of their fans, because that would ruin this whole operation. Instead of the person walking up to them, they stopped in front of Bobby’s table.
They all released a breath of relief. Coming to their senses, they realize that this is probably the person that Bobby was making plans with. They take a closer look at the person.
The person was insanely pretty. Like, the saja boys type pretty. They were even more skeptical. Was Bobby meeting a demon? They thought about it for a moment.
But that idea was shoved to the back of their heads. Not every beautiful person they came across had to be a demon, but they kept it in mind.
They watch as Bobby gives the flowers to the person. He seemed confident, although still a bit bashful. The other person received the flowers in a delighted manner.
They both sat in their chairs, engaging in a conversation that seemed to be a banter filled with flirtatious and playful comments. They all sat with their mouths wide open, gaping at everything they’re hearing.
No offense to Bobby or anything, but the thought of him getting in a relationship with anyone was bewildering. Not that he couldn’t have a love life, but he always seemed more focused on being the manager of Huntrix than anything else.
All the while they were in a daze, their food, finally arrived. The smell instantly snapped them back to reality. Without any hesitation, they dug into their food almost like rabid animals.
During the demolition of their food they occasionally looked over to Bobby’s table, watching them like they were seeing a mind-boggling movie.
But one thing that they can’t help but notice is that the person makes Bobby smile and laugh a lot. Sure, Bobby smiles quite a lot when they’re with him, but as of right now, it’s something completely different.
It was as if Apollo himself had personally blessed his smile. And his cheeks have been in a smile since the person got here. And the crinkles near his eyes have been exceptionally prominent during this meet-up.
They looked at each other before smiling softly. They quickly but quietly finished their food so they could leave. They love Bobby and want the best for him. And that person brings out a new side in him. They discreetly leave, not wanting to gain attention from Bobby.
To be honest, it was a miracle they haven’t been discovered by one of their fans yet.
Guess the ‘spy gear’ really worked.
════ ⋆★⋆ ════
When Bobby came back the next day, they, of course, were going to ask questions. Discreetly and cautiously, obviously (they didn’t).
They may have been there during his date for the entire time, but it doesn’t hurt to get the answer from the source. And so they launched into grilling him for answers.
He didn’t give any hints or answers about his date, but instead looked confused about what they were trying to ask.
They decided to let up from this relentless questioning, noticing that there wasn’t any progress being made, and decided to go back to practicing their song.
Bobby stood there confused and mildly concerned. He could only think of one thing during that interrogation.
Lucy always knew she had an affinity with art. She was so good in fact, that a very rich school offered her a scholarship. Drawing was easy for her, all it took was one look at something and she would draw it.
But as of late she had somehow garnered artist block. That always frustrated her, seeing as she wanted to draw but she just didn’t know what. Luckily her solution came right to her.
As Lucy was walking in the hallway one day she had spotted someone. Usually that wouldn’t have caught her attention because students always walk in the hallways.
But this person was different, they were beautiful. And although Lucy has seen a lot of beautiful people since coming to Ouran, nothing could compare to what she saw.
It was a fleeting moment that she engraved in her mind. And in the first time in forever she wanted to draw. So when Lucy found a comfortable place to draw she immediately got straight to it.
Her pencil strokes, line by line, pieced together perfectly what she saw. Their smooth and delicate hair that reminded Lucy of melted milk chocolate. Their fair skin that could be described as glossy porcelain.
Their big chestnut colored optics that looked like the rich sun-kissed soil she saw everywhere. And oh, that smile that seemed like it was purely made from sugar.
All in a blink of an eye the drawing was finished. And for a hot moment she just stared at it. Honestly thank god for her art skills, it looked exactly like the person Lucy saw.
In this moment Lucy knew what she wanted. This person was going to become her muse. The next day rolled around and Lucy patiently waited in the hallway where she saw her future muse at.
And luckily to her surprise they were there. Lucy was a little bit nervous but she pulled herself together, determined for this to work. She walked up to the person, giving them a light tap on the shoulder to get their attention.
“Um, excuse me but can I ask you something?” Lucy said with unwavering resolve. The person turned around a little bit confused. “Um sure?” The person said. Lucy took a deep breath before speaking.
“Would you like to be my muse?” Lucy asked a little bashful now that she said it out loud. “Pardon?” The student said. “Well, I’ve been having some artist block recently, so when I saw you I just couldn’t help but want to draw you!” Lucy said with exuberance.
“Unless you don’t want to, that would be completely fine!” Lucy stated trying to reassure that the person didn’t need to do this. The person raised their hand signaling for Lucy to stop talking, so she did.
“Sure, I’ll do it.” They said shrugging their shoulders. “Thank you so very much!” Lucy said politely. Though she may have looked calm from the outside, she was jumping for joy on the inside.
“Oh! What’s your name?” Lucy questioningly asked. “Fujioka, Fujioka Haruhi.” They say with a light smile. “Well Fujioka, I’ll come back tomorrow with some supplies, please come to this same spot.”
“Will do.” “Great! I’ll see you tomorrow, have a good day!” Lucy exclaimed while leaving to go to her class. Unbeknownst to Lucy, Haruhi was only thinking one thing from that interaction.
‘Wow, she’s pretty’
════ ⋆★⋆ ════
In Lucy’s opinion, it felt like forever until the next day came by. But that was probably because she was too excited but also because she stayed up late trying to figure out what supplies to bring.
Though her sacrifice was very much appreciated, because now she had everything she needed or wanted, to paint her muse. So there she was at the same place as yesterday waiting for Fujioka.
After waiting for a couple of minutes, she could see Fujioka approaching. “Sorry for the wait, I had to finish some assignments for my class.” Fujioka says while rubbing their neck.
“No need to apologize it’s quite alright.” Lucy said reassuringly. “Do you want to head to the gardens? It’s quiet there and I can focus more easily.” Lucy inquired. “Sure! Lead the way.”
So they both set off to the gardens. Their pace was gentle and unhurried which was quite the stark difference to the excitement Lucy had before. When they finally got there, they found a seat to get comfortable.
“How about we get started.” Lucy said, eager to start. “So what do you want me to do?” Fujioka questioned. “Well, you’ll just sit there and I’ll draw what I see. Though I might ask you to make a specific pose from time to time.”
“Sounds good to me.” Fujioka said going with the flow. Lucy brought out her supplies from her bag that included some markers, a mechanical pencil, and a thick but sturdy drawing notebook.
Hoping to cover some of the quiet awkwardness, Lucy began asking some conversation starter questions. And instead of it being awkward like she thought, it actually went pretty well.
Lucy learned that Fujioka was actually the other student who got a scholarship for this school. She heard everyone talking about getting another scholarship student but Lucy was preoccupied around that time.
Lucy also learned that Fujioka is in the host club. It was a little bit of a surprise but it made sense. Fujioka was a beautiful person, so of course the host club would seek them out to join their club.
Fujioka asked her if shes ever been there before. And she said yes. She told her the times she went there was to get a in person anatomy analysis. But she mostly went there for the sweets.
She was a really big sweets fan, so she’d be a fool to waste an opportunity like that. They were very good and they were free so Lucy occasionally went there if she felt like having a treat.
Fujioka also mentioned that her favorite food was tuna. Specifically fancy tuna. Lucy made a mental note of that and stored it in the back of her head to use for later on.
It was questions like these that really filled the atmosphere with a nice cozy feeling. Talking with Fujioka like this almost felt like they’ve been friends for years.
Once Lucy was done, she couldn’t have been more proud of herself. She was really pleased with how the drawing came out and she was excited to show it off to Fujioka.
“Do you want to see the finishing product?” Lucy said, very satisfied and elated. “Of course!” Fujioka answered. Lucy turned her drawing notebook around to let Fujioka take in the details of the illustration.
On the page Fujioka could see themselves mid motion of laughing. It was as if Lucy took a picture in real time. It was realistic and one of the most beautiful drawings Fujioka had ever seen.
“Wow you’re really talented” Fujioka said in awe. “Thank you!” Lucy said. “I’m glad you like it” She said with a gentle and tender smile. In that moment they both couldn’t ignore the seeds of friendship growing.
But this moment didn’t last forever because Fujioka needed to go to her club. So Lucy bid her farewell until tomorrow. As she was cleaning up her space ready to leave Lucy could only think of one thing.
‘I can’t wait to see you again’
════ ⋆★⋆ ════
Days turned into weeks. And weeks turned into months. And those little seeds of friendship turned into a blossoming tree with flowers adorning it. To say the least, they were best friends.
Peas in a pod if you will. If you didn’t see the together then the only conclusion was either Lucy needed her full attention on a project she was working on or Haruhi was in their club.
That didn’t stop them though. Haruhi always visited Lucy making sure she eats because when Lucy had an idea and put it into motion there was no stopping her.
And when Haruhi had club hours Lucy would come and drop by to see if they weren’t feeling overwhelmed. Lucy usually waited until Haruhi was done with her present client by snacking on those delicious free desserts.
They were good friends, but that’s not what Lucy wanted. It took days upon days of denying these feelings but alas it couldn’t be helped. She was a sucker for Haruhi and honestly she’s wasn’t ashamed about it.
It took a while for her to figure it out, but the little hints were always there. 1 - It was normal for Lucy to draw something multiple times when she was fixated on it.
But she always got bored of the fixation after drawing it a hundred times, but it didn’t for Haruhi, because Lucy never got bored of Haruhi. She even had a whole notebook dedicated to Haruhi doodles.
2 - Lucy also kept staring at Haruhi longer than she normally would. It was almost as if Lucy wanted to engrave Haruhi’s face into her mind. 3 - She also, almost always leaned into Haruhi touch.
Even if it was a brush of their hands, Lucy wanted to hold Haruhi’s like it was a precious gem. 4 - And furthermore, Lucy’s heart always felt like it ran a 10km race whenever Haruhi smiled.
5 - But her final realization was when Lucy accidentally got sick after running in the rain to escape being wet. And quite frankly being sick in Lucy’s opinion is always a distasteful experience.
Her head was hurting like crazy. One of her nostrils was clogged and the second one was almost there. She was also hot underneath her blankets but she didn’t make an effort to move.
Only at times like this an angel could release her from her own personal hell. And that’s when she heard her doorbell ring. She thought it was a trick on her brain, so she mistook it as a noise outside.
But her doorbell rung again. And that time she had most certainly heard it. It took her a while to get up because moving when she was sick was always a terrible idea.
She had to physically prepare to face the worst mental pain she was going to get from standing up. Lucy slowly but surely walked to the door in hopes of finding out who’s ringing her doorbell.
She looked through the peephole only to see the last person she was expecting, Haruhi. She quickly unlocked the door to let them in. “Haruhi what are you doing here?” Lucy said while inviting them in.
“I heard you were sick so I brought a couple of things that might help you feel better.” Haruhi said softly. “You didn’t need to do this for me.” Lucy said feeling a little bad.
“But I want to, so stop going back and forth with me.” Haruhi said clearly not impressed. Lucy nodded, not wanting to make Haruhi even more annoyed. Haruhi ushered her back into her room.
Lucy got underneath her covers trying to get comfortable once again. She closes her eyes in hopes of falling asleep because it’s the best way to pass time and she doesn’t feel the pain in her sleep.
Her breath finally evened out signaling she was asleep. It seemed like 20 minutes went by when she got woken up again by Haruhi. They were holding a bowl with a spoon saying it was for her.
She took it without any complaints because if she did, Haruhi would chastise her saying she needs to eat when she’s sick. “Thank you for doing this for me.” Lucy said still a little bit sleepy.
“It’s no problem.” Haruhi said trying to downplay one of the best things they’d ever done for her. Haruhi was truly a humble soul. As she was eating her soup she couldn’t help but ask something.
“What if you get sick?” Lucy said a little uneasy. “It’ll be worth it.” Haruhi said trying to reassure Lucy’s worries. “No it won’t, being sick sucks.” Lucy said frowning. They let out a little chuckle to that.
“I know.” They said gently. Lucy looked at her with wide eyes. The fact that they would do this for her was… oh. She’s in love. She’s deeply in love with Haruhi. It was a memory Lucy couldn’t forget in a million years.
Ever since that moment, Lucy has wanted to confess several times but always chickened out. She wasn’t afraid of going up to Haruhi and saying she likes them. No, she was afraid of rejection.
Rejection could change everything about their friendship. It would obviously break her heart, but it was the fact that their friendship could be ruined forever, was the thing that scared her the most.
They were great friends, so was she selfish for wanting something more that could make or break what they had? It was thoughts like this that forbid herself from confessing.
After about a week of debating with herself she decided to confess. It didn’t help that every-time she thought about her plans, her heart falls to the bottom of her stomach.
If she was to be rejected, she’d rather it be now than later. Lucy would want to know if Haruhi doesn’t like her like that, than living a life of unrequited love. And with her plans set in motion she quickly got to it.
She grabbed a bouquet of flowers -roses- from her local flower shop and she also bought some tuna (not fancy, Lucy’s not made out of money). Giving someone tuna for a confession was a little weird but maybe it’ll work in Lucy’s favor?
She did this in hopes to win over their affection. But, she would also be fine if Haruhi wanted to stay as friends (she wouldn’t). And so the time came for her to profess her love, and to say the least Lucy felt like she was going to throw up.
She had asked Haruhi to meet her in the garden just like when they first became friends. Lucy thought maybe she should just run away or maybe she wouldn’t confess after all.
Instead of succumbing to fear, she closed her eyes and took deep breaths to calm herself down. Once she opened her eyes she could see Haruhi walking up to her.
She clenched down her teeth on the inside of her cheek hoping to calm her nerves (not hard enough to draw blood). “So what did you want to meet me here for?” Haruhi said finally coming face to face with Lucy.
She hid the gifts for Haruhi behind her back to make it a surprise when she gave it to them. She took a deep breath and started to speak. “I have something to tell you, and if this doesn’t end in a good way can we still be friends?”
After saying those set of words Haruhi became increasingly worried. “Is everything alright?” Haruhi said a little uneasy. “I like you, I like you a lot.” Lucy said. She brought her hands from behind her back and presented her gifts to Haruhi.
Afraid of seeing their reaction she closed her eyes really hard. Unfortunately for her she couldn’t see Haruhi eyes widen and a faint blush emerge on her cheeks. One minute passed and honestly it felt like an eternity for her.
“I have something to say to you.” Haruhi said. At this moment hope was the only thing keeping Lucy stable. “You do know that I’m a girl, right?” Haruhi inquired. Lucy’s eyes snapped opened in a quick manner.
She in fact did not know that. Well, there was little hints she ignored because she knew men could also be feminine if they wanted to. She didn’t like judging a book by its cover.
Lucy usually had interests and crushes in males, but maybe she could explore something different with Haruhi. “No, I didn’t know that. But I would still like to go out with you!” Lucy said with determination.
Haruhi grabbed the flowers and the tuna out of her hands while smiling warmly. “I would love to go out with you.” They (she?) said. Instead of Lucy’s heart bursting like an explosion of rejection, it bursted like fireworks of love.
Lucy smiled as if she had won the lottery. “I promise I’ll make you happy!” Lucy said with absolute certainty. After saying that she was just staring at Haruhi in an infatuated way. “Also by the way is this tuna?” Haruhi questioned.
That determination crashed down into bashfulness. “Yeah it is.” Lucy said while rubbing her neck. Haruhi chuckled and then it became full on laughter. Lucy gazed at her lovingly thinking that maybe this would work out.
════ ⋆★⋆ ════
Lucy always liked recalling those types of memories. While she was in her daydreaming haze she didn’t hear Haruhi walking up to her. “What are you thinking about?” Haruhi questioned.
Happy to hear the voice of her beloved, Lucy turned around to face her. “Just recalling the days of our adolescence.” She said wistfully. “I’m glad I saw you that day.” Lucy says.
“I agree.” Haruhi states while snuggling up next to Lucy on their couch. “Haruhi?” Lucy asks “Yes?” She says. “I love you.” Lucy states with full of adoration.
”I love you too.” Haruhi replied back with the same amount of intensity. And the rings gleaming and shining on their ring fingers can easily testify that love.
Side character C wasn’t sure when she started gaining self awareness. Maybe it was when she couldn’t see the faces of other people. And when she could they were always exceptionally attractive people.
Or maybe it was when the new student in her class got in involved in this weird harem like relationship with the most popular boys at her school. Or even perhaps the faceless people in her class always acted like stepping stones for the popular students.
The new student and her harem are always making loud scenes and having chaotic interactions. The only place side character C, or Clara as she dubbed herself- could only find peace was in the library.
She always ate lunch there and if she was going to stay until the bell rung, she might as well entertain herself with a book. She found a book and went to go sit in a chair to get comfortable.
As she was reading she couldn’t help but notice some strikingly similar events that had happened around her in real life. The popular students had the same names and the same faces.
And the story was about the new girl who had come to Clara’s school. Of course Clara tried to deny this possible breakthrough. It was a farfeched idea that could change everything she knew.
The school bell rung and she immediately put the book back and went to class. She tried to focus on what the teacher was saying but all she was thinking about was that book.
Once school was over she hastily went home. She didn’t want to believe her life could be a lie. Clara was in a haze for the rest of the evening. She was thinking about the possibility being true to the point she couldn’t sleep.
So the next day when she stepped foot into that school she immediately went to the library to get the book. Luckily it was still there and nobody decided to take it. She put it in her bag and left.
All day she was jittery due to her nerves and once she got home it certainly became worse. She was in a frenzy, and for about an hour she didn’t want to even look at the book.
She was scared. Scared of being useless. Scared of things changing. Scared of being something she didn’t want. A background character in someone else’s story.
She wanted to get it over with so she collected her nerves and grabbed the book, and without a moments waste she read the whole thing. Once she finished the book, she felt like she just came in contact with a reality she never expected to see.
And in that moment she felt like something she never wanted to be. Meaningless. Her existence was only a stool for someone else. Days upon weeks had gone by and she was still in a haze.
She gradually stopped doing her school work because she didn’t have a motive to keep herself going. She was sure the teachers didn’t care or just didn’t acknowledge her existence because nobody said anything to her.
At that point she just started staying at her home not caring to get up for school or for anything of that matter because who would care? In the days she was going to school, she was trying to prove to herself that her existence was more than a mere stepping stone for people to use.
Of course that didn’t work. She was so average she didn’t even have any special things she was good at. She was never at the bottom and never at the top. She was nothing special.
Clara never wanted to feel this way. She didn’t want to feel tired. She didn’t want to rot in bed all day. She didn’t want to live her life like this. But could it even be called her life when she’s just a puppet meant to bend at every whim in someone else’s story?
The days felt like they went by faster and each day she was losing herself. Rotting away in her bed didn’t require her to think, but whenever she did it always about her questioning her state of being.
She didn’t want to keep living like this so she decided she wanted to do something productive the next day. That day arrived and she didn’t feel like doing anything so she put it off for the next day.
And she did this the next day, and the day, and the next. It became a cycle at that point. She’d make plans to do something but would always reschedule because of her lack of motivation.
Her life was an exceptionally well crafted lie and she was the clown falling for it every time. She just couldn’t take it anymore and decided to put an end to this. She went to the store with the last of her energy to pick up some anti-depressants.
She got them in hopes it could fix her. But it didn’t, in fact it got worse. Now she was addicted to pills that didn’t help her. She got so skinny to the point her skin was tightly rapped around her rib cage making her ribs extremely visible and making her look extremely malnourished.
One day she took the whole bottle of pills in hopes to put an end to her misery for once and for all. She would enter her room that day knowing she wouldn’t come out ever again.

In a family’s home their tv was broadcasting the latest news. One of the subjects was a 17 year old girl was found dead from overdosing on pills, automatically labeling this case as suicide.
There was a note from the girl that was left before she died. It read “I was too aware.” The people broadcasting were confused didn’t know what that meant so they just said their condolences.
Poor side character C. Hopefully in another life she would be more than a tool to use without a second thought.
Amelia and her party members decided to branch off so they could take a break from all the adventures they had gone on so far. Not worrying about what the others are doing she decided to go to a restaurant to get some food.
Of course the first thing she wanted was food, days after days of fighting monsters can really take a toll on one’s appetite. Amelia steadily walks to the restaurant while taking in the scenery. The lush greenery of the trees.
The sound of laughter merging together like a symphony. The flowers in full bloom, showing their petals off to the world. The sky was painted with a tangerine hue with clouds garnashing it.
And a subtle breeze from the wind that flows across Amelia’s face in a playful manor. By the time Amelia arrived at the tavern she could see that the restaurant had nobody inside.
The sign on the door does say the establishment is still open, so maybe it was empty because it was nearing nightfall and everyone was in their homes. She opened the door hearing a soft chime from the bells tied to the door. Inside was like a whole new world to discover.
The lights were dim, making the establishment look like a welcoming space to customers. There was soft jazz playing from the speakers elevating the homely space. Looking around Amelia could also see soft and fluffy looking chairs with plants and books spread out near.
While Amelia was admiring her surroundings she didn’t hear footsteps walking subtly up to her. “What’s got your eyes in a trance?” The unknown voice questioned. A deep and smooth sounding voice penetrated your ears.
She looks up to face this mysterious person, and what she finds is unlike any other. Amelia comes face to face with a man seeing as he is about the same height as her. He has long milk chocolate colored hair tied up with ribbon that is delicately lying on his shoulder.
Thinly framed glasses that enhances his warm honey filled eyes. She could gaze in them forever. ‘You’ she thought but obviously didn’t say. “I was just admiring this place, the owner did a really good job decorating it.” Amelia says, softly but definitely impressed.
“Thank you, the compliment means a lot” he says with a happy smile. “Oh? You’re the manager? No offense or anything but you look to be my age” Amelia said surprised. It didn’t seem like he was angry about her comment.
“None taken, i’ve actually inherited this place from my parents since they passed away and I’ve been running it ever since.” She softly gasped. “I’m sorry for your loss” she says with a somber tone.
“No need to get upset, I’ve come to terms with them passing away.” He says with a nostalgic tone. “So anyways what would you like to eat?” He says questioningly. Amelia picked up on the fact that he wanted to change the subject.
So of course she went along, not wanting to make the owner uncomfortable. “I want to have a fulfilling and hearty meal, do you have any recommendations?” After a couple of minutes of thinking he spoke again. “I do in-fact, what do you think about chicken Alfredo pasta?”
The sound of that almost makes your stomach growl. “That sounds delicious, I’ll take some of that please” He gives you a warm smile. “Of course, you can go ahead and make yourself comfortable while I make your food” he said making his way to the kitchen.
She goes and picks a seat to get comfortable. The tension in her shoulders started to relax from the softness of the seat. After 10 minutes of waiting the owner finally comes back with your food. “Here’s your food, I hope you enjoy!” he says with a lively smile.
“I certainly will! It looks so good!” Amelia says with excitement. You start digging into your food. The spices and flavors coming from the pasta makes your tastebuds sing a choir. She instantly melts from how good it is.
“Thank you, I’ve needed this. It was such a long day.” She says with a sigh, but a smile on your face nevertheless. “If I may ask could you tell me what happened?” He states a little intrigued
“I’ve been traveling with my party, fighting monsters day and night is quite exhausting” she says going to indulge in another bite of pasta. “Oh, that seems quite eventful if I do say so myself” he says with a chuckle.
“Tell me about it” she says while rolling your eyes, exhaust evidently in your voice. “It’s never quiet in that party which is nice, but having some alone time is also nice.” “I get what you mean” he says nodding with a tone of perception.
Amelia and the owner keep talking even after you’ve finished eating your food. It was getting dark outside, the sky’s hue gradually became black, a stark difference from the orange earlier.
“This was comfortable and delightful encounter I’ve had today, but I’m afraid I must head home” Amelia says a little forlorn. “That’s alright, I’ve also had a great time with you today” he says softly with a touch of disappointment
She pays for her food- leaving a gracious tip for the owner. “What’s your name?” She says questioning. “It’s Elias, and yours?” he says questioningly. “It’s Amelia.” She says breezily “Thank you for the food and your company Elias, I’ll be back tomorrow” she says smiling while leaving the tavern.
He waves back with satisfaction written all over his face. She hears the jingle of the bells as she leaves the establishment. That sound engraved in her mind as she finds herself walking back to her party’s place.
She finally gets to her party’s hotel room, and all she wants to do is go to sleep. She opens the door and she sees the leader of her party- Robert, standing near the door. Confusion is evident on her face but she doesn’t give it a second thought.
She enters and walk through the space to get to her room. “Amelia?” He calls out. She instantly stops, her feet halting in place. She turned around so she could face him. “Yes?” She says with a hint of confusion in her voice.
“Where were you?” He says concerned about her whereabouts. “I just went out to eat” she said with a smile more happier and radiant than usual. Her feet picks up once again in the same pattern as before to head to her room.
Robert watched Ameila’s figure disappear behind her door. ‘She went out early, and came back late. It certainly doesn’t take that long to eat’ he thought with his brows creasing in confusion. But he just let the matter go.
Behind her door Amelia changed into some fresh clothes finally heading to sleep. And just like that, the same activities happened over and over again like a routine. She gets up, get dressed, goes to the restaurant, talk until it’s gets late, and come back and go to sleep.
Even though weeks had passed of her doing the same thing repeatedly, nothing brung her as much joy as this. It was until unfortunate news unkindly messed up her routine. The party decided that it was finally time to leave this town.
Now, usually Amelia would’ve been excited, seeing as she and her teammates frequently stay in places for a long time, she usually was ready for some change but she wasn’t. She would’ve never expected to connect and bond with someone so deeply while being here.
Leaving this place means leaving Elias. And that’s certainly not what she wanted. “Can’t we just stay here for a bit more?” She asked devastated by the news. “No, we’ve been here long enough” Robert said a little confused but nevertheless undeterred.
Her heart sank to the bottom of her stomach. “We’ll leave in a couple of minutes, try to be ready then” Robert said. If Amelia’s heart had broke to the first part of the news, the last bit of information shattered it into tiny irremediable pieces.
Her crestfallen face had definitely churned some emotions in Robert heart. “Fine, we can stay for thirty minutes more. After that we’re leaving” Robert said with a sigh. Even though sadness was apparent on her face, her eyes brightened up a little.
With that she set off to pack her clothes and other important things for the leave. After she finished packing up her things she looked to the clock to see what time it is. Only ten minutes to spare.
Only ten minutes to say goodbye. She immediately gets up and rush out their hotel room, gaining some perplexed stares by her teammates. As soon as she reached restaurant she’s heaving but she doesn’t care and immediately goes in wasting no time.
She hears the bells jingle again, only this time they’re harsh and loud unlike the previous time you came here. Her eyes instantly scan the room trying to pick out who you’re searching for. Once her eyes stop roaming that’s how she knew she found him.
“Elias!” She says short of breath. He wips his head around to the call of his name. When he sees you his eyes widen immensely. He wasn’t used to seeing her distraught and nearing a breakdown. “Is everything alright Amelia?” He says concerned.
Her face crumpled up. “No, everything’s not okay.” She says quietly, afraid her voice may crack from her intense emotions. “Are you hurt?” He said scanning you for any injuries. “We’re leaving, the party made a decision to leave this place.” She says devastated.
“What?..” she looks up at him. Upon hearing that, his face became emotionless. It was devoid of that charming soft smile you knew. His crinkled eyes he had when smiling- it was gone.
Those golden chestnut colored eyes that shined whenever she looked into them- now looked dull. “I only have a couple minutes left before we go, and I needed to say goodbye.”
In a split second, Elias’s face returned back to normal. Although everything looked normal his eyes are still dull. Then he held out his arms signaling for Amelia to embrace him.
And that’s what she did. She immediately rushed into his arms putting her face in the nook of his neck while grabbing onto him as if the world was ending. It was a simple hug, but it meant everything to her in this moment.
The corners of his lips turn upwards creating a bittersweet smile. His arms let go of her slowly but surely. “I’ll be right back, I have something for you.” He says soberly. Amelia waited about 2 minutes before he came back.
Elias held out his hand, only for you to see a thinly squared box. Elias gave the box to her wanting Amelia to see the gift for herself. She opened the box and gave a soft gasp. There was a beautiful bracelet lying inside.
“I got this a couple days ago but I didn’t know when to get it to you.” He says a little embarrassed. “But it seems now is the correct time” he stated obviously disappointed at the unfortunate news.
“Would you like for me to put it on you?” He says. “Yes” Amelia said still entranced by the beauty of the bracelet. Elias gently picks the bracelet up and clasps it on her wrist.
“It looks beautiful on you.” He says with a bittersweet smile. “Thank you Elias, I’ll be sure to treasure these memories we had together” Amelia states with mixed emotions. “This isn’t a goodbye but a see you later.” Elias says wisely.
“I hope so” she says almost choking on her emotions. She walks to the door almost about to leave but she hesitates. “I’ll come back for you” she says smiling with tears coming down her face.
She’ll come back to him. Not for the scenery, not for the food, but for him. Nothing more needed to be said. The indirect confession was received. He smiled. “I’ll be waiting.” He said committed to his promise.
A couple months passed since then and Amelia can say that each adventure was eventful but not eventful as when you met him. She’d always touch the bracelet when she was scared.
It was clear She missed him dearly and decided to ask Robert for a favor. She was ecstatic when he said yes.

On a sunny afternoon Elias hears the chime of the bells on the door notifying him that a customer is here. A person walks in with soft footsteps.
“I’m back Elias”, the sweet tone says. He looks up and immediately smiles. “Welcome back Amelia.”
