“Yeah. He’s a nice guy.” That’s want true but it was kinda fun to just pretend what happened before with David never happened and that they were now dating for the first time. It was nice. “I’m not saying ti was only because of me but..he was really upset about his families. What if rejecting him made him feel all alone and shit? Yanno made him feel like he didn’t have anybody since he doesn’t even have a family and then had to see all of us get visits from our family and then I told him we couldn’t be more than friends and I dunno he just seemed real torn up about it all.”

“If you say so,” he chuckled softly. Riley hated David, but he said he wasn’t here for a fight, so he wouldn’t say anything about the guy. “You’re going to give yourself a headache thinking like that Benjamin. I’m sure Charles didn’t do anything because of you. And not everyone gets visitors every time we have a visiting week. I do remember last time he had someone visit him, so he does has family. I’m sure they just couldn’t visit this time around. And Charles has more friends than just you, you know. You just need to relax, Benjamin.”

“I know it’s a mutual thing.” Ben didn’t have any friends, not anymore, so he just ignored the first part, knowing he was just being mean because he was upset. “Dunno, doesn’t matter then.” He said with a shrug. “I told him I was with David. He’s in love with me you know..or at least he has feelings for me. I’m not sure really..but he was really upset when I told him and he was already upset because of his families death anniversary this month.”

Riley just smirked a little, knowing that he had seen through Ben’s attitude right away. “You’re with David? Huh,” he hummed, not saying more on that matter. He hoped his nonresponse would draw a reaction out of Ben, but he wouldn’t be heartbroken if it didn’t. “This isn’t some teenage drama, I doubt he tried killing himself because of you,” Riley shrugged. “Maybe it had something to do with his families? Don’t beat yourself up over something you couldn’t control. He’s here for a reason, obviously he was too much in his head.”

“You’ve fucked with all my friends, and me. That and you’re particularly fond of Alexander..which I used to be very upset about. We’re not really friends anymore though.” In truth, Ben didn’t really know of anything Riley did that was truely bad, he just had a bad reputation. “It’s my fault..” he had convinced himself of it. It happened right after he told Cj about David.

“I’ve hardly ever fucked with you Benjamin, and which friends were those? I haven’t fucked with anyone much in a few weeks. As for Alexander, he’s fond of me too, you know. It’s a mutual thing there. And if you’re no longer friend what does that matter?” He shrugged. Riley found Ben’s irritation with him amusing. “Oh?” He asked, intrigued. “And how is that? Did you shove the pills down his throat?”

“Yeah well after all you’ve done, I have the right to assume things.” He said with a laugh, “I’m doing fucking great Riley, I’m doing just fucking peachy.” He spat out, knowing he looked pretty shitty.

“And what things do you think I’ve done?” He asked, leaning against the wall with a raised brow. “Obviously,” Riley scoffed. “I know how.. attached you are to Charles. You don’t have to pretend to be okay.”

“Oh Riley, you never liked me, don’t lie to yourself. And if I was like everyone else I would tell you that you’re a psychopath uncabable of love but instead I’m saying that if you prove them wrong, good, if you don’t oh well I was right. But whatever you wanna say, man.” Brendon found Riley’s frustration with him quite hilarious, as patients like him always tried to get under his skin and really couldn’t. “Bye bye Riley, have a good day, don’t punch any walls.” Brendon said in a song-song teasing voice before laughing to himself.

“You were interesting, which meant I liked you. Don’t try to act like you know me,” he said, voice calm. Riley wouldn’t let Brendon annoy him. He was just trying to get more friendly with the staff so he could have options. “I don’t care what anyone says I can or can’t feel. I know what I feel, and if someone doesn’t believe me, they can go fuck themselves,” he said, before turning around, ignoring Brendon as he went back inside.

“Exscuse me for assuming you of all people would want to bother me with talk of his situation. That’s usually your thing you know, to irritate people in any way possible.”

“You know, I’m getting tired of people thinking they know me,” Riley sighed. “I do when it’s rather distasteful to talk about something. I don’t really want a fight either. I just came to see how much it had affected you.”

“I do care about him. You’re just like everyone else, which is unfortunate, because I was really starting to like you Brendon.” Riley scowled, pushing away from the tree he was leaning against, starting to walk away slowly. “Thanks for the cig, have a fan-fucking-tastic day.”
