Can RimPro-Tec go through a car wash?
Yes. RimPro-Tec can stand up to repeated car washing.
Can RimPro-Tec come off while driving?
Properly installed and securely fastened, RimPro-Tec do not come off under normal driving conditions. However, they are a wear item on your car. Periodically check the condition of your RimPro-Tec. Loose color inserts should be fully re-inserted. Damaged RimPro-Tecâs should be replaced in full or by spliced in the section that is damaged. It is recommended that RimPro-Tec be replaced when changing tires on your vehicle, or after 3 years of service life.
Will changing tires damage my RimPro-Tec ?
Care needs to be taken and the proper equipment used, RimPro-Tec can be damaged during tire changes. It is important to let your tire change technician know you have RimPro-Tec installed. Mention that if they use the same technique as when changing tires on âchrome cladâ wheels the RimPro-Tec should be fine.
Do RimPro-Tec affect tire balancing or alignment?
No. This has been checked many times. Properly installed RimPro-Tec are a precision product manufactured to tight tolerances. Their installation does not affect wheel balancing. They also do not interfere with or affect the wheel alignment process.
Can I put RimPro-Tec on custom painted wheels?
If the painted surface was done at a professional shop where the paint was properly applied to the wheel the adhesive in RimPro-Tec will not cause damage to the painted surface when removing. If the painted surface is a DIY it depends on surface preparation before painting and quality of paint used. If the paint is on the wheel at least as strong as from can of spray on Plasti Dip applied to a properly cleaned up surface then RimPro-Tecs are safe to apply over the paint.
What if I have clip-on wheel weights?
In many cases RimPro-Tec can be installed to wheels with clip-on wheel balancing weights. The RimPro-Tec track design allows for cutting the track flush with either end of the wheel weight clip. The color insert can then be snapped into the track and bridged across the metal clip.

We warrant that the RimPro-Tec System will be free from material defects manufactured by RimPro-Tec World Wide Limited 2018 for a period of 1 year from the date of purchase (with proof of receipt). The RimPro-Tec System when installed and used in accordance with the manufacturerâs instructions may reduce the severity of damage to rims for some minor incidents. We do not guarantee that the RimPro-Tec System will reduce all or any damage to every incident. We make no other warranty, express or implied, and to the fullest extent permitted under applicable law, hereby disclaim all implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
Please ensure that your wheels rim surface is a flat and undamaged area, enough to take the RimPro-Tec system. Will not fit all wheel types.
RimPro-Tec World Wide Limited 2018 undertakes at its sole discretion to repair or replace any faulty RimPro-Tec product within the warranty period. The foregoing shall constitute the exclusive remedy for breach of warranty herewith.
This warranty does not cover any damage to the product due to abuse, negligence, abnormal use, accident or improper storage (do not subject to heat or direct sunlight prior to fitting to wheel rim surface and store uninstalled product below 120 F / 50 C.), installation or use. Alloy Wheel Rim Bands| Installation - RimPro-TEC
To get the best experience for every vehicle, we provided alloy wheel rim bands' detailed installation instructions for our customers. Make sure to follow it.Â
Installation time varies based on wheel design, wheel size and experience level of the person doing the work. A first-time do-it-yourself installation takes 40 minutes to an hour for a set of four wheels. A person who has installed Wheel Bands on several cars can do an installation on a set of four wheels in 20 minutes or less.
Fitting Instructions
Note: Please cut 5mm off each end of the RimPro-Tec base before installing.
Important: Wheel Bands should be installed at temperatures above 50°F (10°C). Prior to installation, they should not be stored above 120°F (50°C).
Wash wheels, allow to dry and have all required parts and tools ready. (cutters or knife not included).
Use RimPro-Tec wipe (4 wipes supplied in one pack x1 per wheel) to remove any residue or contaminants that may remain on the wheel rim.
Choose the location on the wheel rim that the RimPro-Tec base will adhere to, making sure the entire surface of the rim is completely undamaged for the adhesive tape to be applied to.
Gently place one end of the RimPro-Tec base onto the desired part of the wheel rim making sure to hold the rest of the RimPro-Tec base away from the wheel to avoid accidental adhesion.
Carefully peel off the backing from the tape in 1/4 sections at a time whilst applying to the wheel. (making sure you do not handle the tape as this could potentially reduce the adhesion).
Follow the wheel contour whilst pressing the RimPro-Tec base firmly in place to complete the circle.
Carefully mark the RimPro-Tec base and cut to desired wheel size ensuring both ends are flush together, NO GAPS, discard any excess RimPro-Tec base when finished.
Press the RimPro-Tec base on the wheel FIRMLY with the fitting tool, making sure the RimPro-Tec base is well fixed to the wheel.
Insert the RimPro-Tec Pinstripe⢠(Inner) into the RimPro-Tec base, cut to the desired length, making sure the Pinstripe⢠(Inner) join is at opposite ends to the RimPro-Tec base join.
Push the completed RimPro-Tec System on to the wheel rim FIRMLY with a fitting tool to achieve maximum adhesion. Allow up to 72 hours for full adhesion. The vehicle can be driven immediately once all RimPro-Tec Systems are fully installed. Do not wash wheels for 72 hours once fitted to allow full adhesion.
