Ji was born from a cryptic pregnancy. This type of pregnancy is invisible; the cycles vary so little that they don't raise any suspicion, and the belly barely grows. Celine grew up in an unconventional family for the 1980s. Her biological father, a young Korean diplomat, left South Korea in 1979, shortly after her birth, due to the country's escalating political and social tensions. He moved to England and never truly took responsibility for her.
Her mother, Kang Ran, gave her her surname and raised the girl alongside her two companions from the Noeul Sonyeo group. Although the three were extremely mismatched and constantly clashed, they eventually formed a small, unorthodox family, where Celine was cared for and trained from a young age to become a future hunter.
Jung-Ja was the one who most often assumed the role of a loving and understanding mother to the girl. On the other hand, the leader, Yeong-Ok, often considered Celine's presence a nuisance that hindered their goal of becoming the generation destined to seal the Hoonmoon and defeat Gwi-Ma.
