it fries me how we can see the pianist in the back playing while Natalie pretends to

i feel like gabe in the background while everyone else is dancing and stuff represents him constantly being there in her head
You can see Gabe's thought process is exactly what sheâs thinking. and then she flushed the pills
you can see that before Diana grabs the cake she holds a finger to gabe telling him to wait
gabe walking in and immediately saying âhey dad its meâ kinda reminds me of selective mutism, like hear me out, she stops talking and has her manifestation of gabe speak for her. or at least that's what she sees. To Dan she's just not talking. But I feel like all that Gabe is saying is what Diana is saying in her own headâ are you waiting, are you wishing,are you wanting all that she cant give?â I feel like what she's saying in her head. same with âare you hurting, are you healing, are you hoping for a life to live?â (that may have been really confusing, its late honestly)
when she lets gabe hold her but not dan thats really what solidified my thoughts on her view on gabe. he protects her from the things she doesn't want to see
gabe running away from dans hand despite wanting to be seen so badly makes me sob
im not going to mention the fact that gabe stole the melody during Superboy and the Invisible Girl because everyone and their mama has mentioned it
while Nat was talking about flying away she started lifting herself up on the ledge, i know that's not like profound knowledge, i just like it
Diana says âi love you, as much as i canâ and a lot of people see this as Diana saying that she only loves Nat as much as she thinks she deserves. I honestly don't see that, I see it as Diana genuinely struggling. As someone with a bipolar parent/a parent who struggles with lots of mental health disorders, some days they can't give you everything and more, because they can't even take care of themselves. now im not saying this to excuse all of Diana's actions but i just wanted to throw that out there
hes definitely a rockstar i suppose

Gabe in the back while Diana's hypnotized is such an amazing blocking choice, hes in the back of her mind, put away while shes calm and not in control
