Should we be more worry about Cordelia and James and everything that has happened to them and can possibly happen or should we relax a bit and trust they are smart, strong, and resilient enough to get through some of what they will face all right?

New Charlie Bowater art! Alastair Carstairs, reading a newspaper. It’s actually a weird habit of his to read mundane newspapers, for reasons you will find out about in Chain of Gold.(Charlie is so talented! Alastair has dyed his hair, and I love how she got it half growing out, still dark at the roots.)

“I just had a daughter who was born 6 weeks early and weighed 2lbs 14oz at birth. I had already planned on naming her Tessa because your Tessa is such a strong woman and is a character I aspire for her to be like that. My daughter has already proven to me that fight and is making tremendous progress in coming home. I’ve started already reading Clockwork Angel to her to put her to sleep. Thank you so much! I wanted to tell you that my godsons were born exactly the same amount of time early. The first time I saw them was in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and they looked small enough to fit into my pockets. That was two years ago. Now they’re running around and, as you can see in the video, memorizing the words to Let It Go.

And they can dance. Sort of.

Much of this is due to the fantastic child-raising of my best friend, their mom, and it sounds like you will be a similarly great mom. I hope that Shadowhunters the world over can take a moment to think of small Tessa and hope she comes home soon.

I had messaged you four years ago to tell you of my premie baby girl that I named Tessa. She came home after one month in the NICU and has been healthy ever since. She’s tiny, but she’s stubborn, smart, and strong. 

In March, my husband and I welcomed our second daughter who we named Charlotte after another of your equally brave and strong characters. They are the greatest joy in my life and I can’t wait until they’re old enough for us to read all of your stories together. 

Thank you for continuing to be an encouragement and fantastic story teller.
