what radicalized me? literally just books and history... please start reading.
someone free me from this yearn.
at the heart of the debate about dei, we can see that white men's negative outlook is solely because they don't think women, poc, gay people, or just about anybody else can do the work they do. dei is not hiring ANY poc, woman, or other marginalized group, its looking for different backgrounds within their pool of EQUALLY QUALIFIED candidates. no person is being hired just because of their skin, gender, or sexuality, we just understand that people that aren't white men can do any job. dei initiatives don't entrust important jobs with qualification requirements with just any person. if people feel that dei is doing that, they think that marginalized people are not up to the same standard as white males are.
when someone tries to convince you that dei initiatives lessen the efficiency of the workforce, ask them whether they believe a woman, poc, trans person, or gay person could do equal or better work. their answer will tell you about the real reason they feel that way about dei.
i see my future, and it is bright

donald trump's $500 billion investment in ai is the single most out of touch action by a president i have seen recently. there are displaced people on our own country whos homes have been ruined by fire (which is a product of climate change btw), small farmers who he promised would help, and impoverished kids who dont have the resources to look towards working in the tech field, and yet he continues to grow the gap between who has technology and access to the "new jobs" he is creating, and who really doesnt.
You know you’re fucked up when Regulus Black is your comfort character
everything you see. you see on purpose.
disgusting and unacceptable
today is an important day to remember this poem 💙
Trump when I tell them about pre-colonial gender identities
people who dont understand nuance and gray areas are immensely uninformed. to them it is either male or female, good or bad, smart or stupid, and most importantly yes or no. when people believe that recognizing race within contexts of opportunity is wrong, they forget that our current reality has been fueled by centuries of oppression. it is not hard to understand that people of color often cant win based on merit, not because they are incapable of merit yielding activities, but because merit wasn't assigned to those activities for them in the centuries prior (or the activity wasnt allowed, this applies to gender, sexuality, and any other identifying characteristic).
today donald trump passed the statement that the united states has been socially engineering race into aspects of life, and that we need to be race blind. at face value that is great, but with centuries of racial oppression, blindness now disregards the past, and subsequent present, struggle.
we cannot be merit based now because it disregards the nuance of how race is already ingrained into society.
nothing is ever more sensual than when two characters who work together are working on a project late at night, cross-legged, backs against the couch, takeout on the coffee table, and then they both reach for the same notebook...

we as a society need to start sending people quotes again. anything you cant find the words for, someone has probably already said it. there is beauty in finding new purpose for old words.
