Headcanon that Dick is almost pathological about Tim’s health after contagion and it’s only made worse by Tim’s splenectomy… He has on his calendar when Tim is supposed to get vaccination boosters and carries certain antibiotics with him at all times.

As tends to happen in the apothecary diaries fandom the pendulum swing has swung too far into overcorrection. Anshi is not Jinshi’s biological mother, and it’s important part of the story that needs to be acknowledged. But she IS his mother in every other sense of the word. The consider each other mother and son and that should not dismissed. A lot of people have been raised by a grandparent and consider them their parent. Family is messy and complicated and doesn’t need to fit into neat little boxes to be valid.

I think some people have some big misinterpretations about Green Arrow 71, but I want to talk about what Jason did that actually really pissed me off in this issue.

One of the direct textual things that Jason does is impose himself as a “mentor/teacher” figure over Mia despite the difference in their age being negligible. He’s trying to relate them and their experiences while still lording over her like an authority figure. He acknowledges she’s experienced HORRIFIC trauma, while still acting like he’s more of an adult than her when they’re both just teenagers. Stop referring to yourself like your her teacher jason, you’re not that guy.

And obviously this is partially a writing problem too, they really did treat Jason like he was much older than he was at 17/18. It shows in his fight with Tim as well. Jason never really let himself finish out his teenage years he just jumped straight to “adult man”

Like I’ve never agreed a lot of what people say about this comic, it’s pretty antithetical to what actually happens on the page. But he was being a condescending asshole.

I do kinda laugh when people who genuinely hate Jason Todd (actually hate, not just jokes) want DC to kill him off again so they stop hearing about him. You do realize the man’s importance to the narrative grows exponentially in death right? You won’t escape him just by him dying and the entirety of Batman comics from the 90s and early 2000s show this. His death permeates the story and seeps into everything.

Jinshi and Maomao are both capable of very easily manipulating each other into ceasing their self destructive behavior. All they have to do is threaten to do the exact same thing the other one is doing and it works like a charm. Oh you’re not eating? Guess I’m not hungry either! You won’t sleep?
