Are You??
At the break of dawn, the serene sunshine silently embraces me as the little birds parked on the branches outside wake me up with their sweet synchronized chirps. I wake up with a bright smile, breath in a puff of fresh air and pull myself out of the bed to sit at the window sill and admire the lovely little creatures , the sunrise, the beautiful azure skies and the lush green trees as this thought ponders over my head.
Life Fast-forwarded to 2040…. How would the world be?
Would we still be blessed with such wonderful boons our mother earth has showered us with?
Read on, to find out!
The fresh air that is so essential for our existence, will it be breathable in the coming years?
All the fresh water that we’re blessed with, will it be available in abundance if we continue using it the way we do?
The bountiful that we’re blessed with, might not be available for our future generations to experience it.
All the organic veggies & fruits are already being adulterated only with an intention doubling profits and not of producing quality products.
All the land that is available for farming might be converted to high-risers and there might be no land left for production of food and again we might have to find an alternative to food, which, scientists are already working on.
We also might have to resort to using oxygen masks & this day is fast approaching.
Recently, the Amazon forest burst out into fire and continued burning for several days. It is said that, Amazon Forest is the lungs of earth as 20% of world’s Oxygen is produced by the jungle. The forest’s fire started off due to adverse effects of mining, logging, and agriculture. In-short, it’s the human species that’s responsible for destroying the world’s respiratory.
It’s the increase in usage of automobiles, that’s causing air pollution/ noise pollution; Increase in usage of plastics, wasting 2.5% world’s fresh water, polluting the oceans, and increase in usage of mobile networks are also causing many species to go extinct. Not just the Amazon, but also the Antarctica’s melting glaciers, increase in industrial wastes and many more reasons that’s contributing to global warming.
The world’s population has gone for a toss and it looks like the globe might anytime explode as it can no more stand the weight of 7.7 billion population anymore. All the natural calamities that’s occurring isn’t natural anymore, it is a result of what we, as individuals’ are contributing to our nature’s well-being. It is the GLOBAL WARMING or the GLOBE IS WARNING? It is up to us to decide if we want to continue making the world even more hazardous place to live in, or, take a step forward and contribute to that percentage of population who go overboard to make a change. Every individual has to give a thought to sustainable development, meaning, think about our future generations and utilize the available resources. We have been blessed with every bit of nature and future generation deserves to be blessed too. Let’s abide by the motto- Reduce, Recycle, Reuse!
Remember there’s no Planet B because, if we do not act together now, we will surely perish!
I am doing my bit, “are you”?
