I love when pigeons have feathered feet. What breeds are those?
there are a ton of them!
My favorites are slipper and Grouse muffs.
I don’t have a comprehensive list of muffed breeds, but I would be happy to share the muffed breeds we have worked with and their blends.
Lahore usually have much longer muffs than this, but muffs that are too long are painful to walk with, so I was pleased to find an individual whose embellishments were considered poor quality.
Same for Frillbacks.
Lucerne are required to have grouse muffs, which are the ideal for me if you like feathered feet.
Same for Classic Old Frill, which are nearly identically structured.
Pitch is half Frillback, half Old German Owl. Because OGO are clean leggd, she only inherited slippers.
Her sister cheeks has more like stockings; feathered legs and feet, but bare toes.
Sissy, a Lahore/Modena cross, also inherited only feathered feet.
Valentine (Cheeks’ daughter by a Voorburg Shield Cropper) hung on to her mom’s very short muffs.
This gorgeous Archangel/COF cross named Jet has a slightly shorter version of the COF grouse muffs.
Hagrid, a Frillback/Giant Homer cross, has slippers.
Silk is a Lucerne/OGO cross. His feet are only partially feathered.
Same for Betty
And his sister, Rigby, who are half COF, half Racing Homer,
Pj, sired by a Chinese Owl out of Pitch, also has slippers with a few toe feathers.
Vynni, sired by a Lucerne out of a Show Type Racing Homer has very nice, thick slippers with out any real toe feathering.
Ellie, Sired by sissy out of Valentine, inherited spats shorter than her parents that cover the sides, but not the tops of her feet.
Samhain is Silk’s son out of a clean legged mixed breed hen. His slippers are nearly identical to his dad’s.
Cody, sired by Betty out of Hagrid, inherited all the length gened from his Frillback maternal grampa and all the fullness genes from his COF paternal grampa, ending up with full muffs.
